Fixed the link, you have to enter it in CamelCase. I like the pic, but I think it needs a shot of the actual boss fight, or a video of the boss fight that can be linked in the caption, to get the trope completely across.

Ah. Since I have barely any experience in photo manipulation I think a link in the caption would be good.
Pinball cleanup threadIt could work with the right caption explaining it.
I assume some of the items on that screen are PowerUps, but unless you're already familiar with the source nothing there really illustrates the trope.
Don't need to know what the Power Ups do, only that there are a lot of them.
The missing piece ("there must be a boss fight coming up" or something) can be filled in by a caption.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Wholly disagree with that. Using the character's face (or some similar representation of them) for 1Ups is common enough that it can be inferred that this is a smattering of powerups, even for somebody who's never played a Mega Man game before. The part that's missing is that this is a lead-up to something insanely difficult.
Yeah, pretty much.

Moon◊Agreed; the trope title, combined with all the stuff that's there on the screen, should be enough of a clue to the reader that those are power-ups.
This is clearly better than no image, yes.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! So have we an agreement?
(And in case you're wondering - the boss has 800+ health. He takes a lot of damage from one shot, though.)
Pinball cleanup threadI found a video that has that scene in it, but it's long...I'll try to get a screencap in a sec.
EDIT: On second thought, I don't think I'll be able to get a screencap that will get the full danger of that boss across...the scenes where he's bullet helling are too fractured from the animation to make good screencaps. Linking the video's probably gonna have to be the route we take.

Oh, I have a shorter video that only contains the screen with the power-ups and the boss. You can find it here.
(And I think there's a way to make it so that it starts at a certain point, if it's still too long for you.)
Pinball cleanup threadCan link to a particular time in a YT video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=jAc8xrCbP-E#t=587s
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The only problem with that video is that the defeat is too quick...the longer video I put in the caption has a more challenging fight. I don't know how to make a You Tube vid start at a certain point, but making the link do that would be great.
EDIT: Ninja'd...if you can make the one in my caption start at the 9:44 mark, that'd be awesome.

you can make Youtube start videos at a specified time by adding the tag "#t=00m00s" to the end of the URL, like so: linked to 9m44s
edit: ninja'd sorry.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.You figured it out, looks like, but you can pause and right-click on a YT video and choose "Copy video URL at current time" from the pop-up context menu.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Alright, that looks great!
I'll go post it.
EDIT: Alright, the video didn't work for me. It needs to load to that point first.

Pinball cleanup threadIt took a coupla seconds to load, but it worked for me.
Cleared my cache and the link still works. The note is not necessary. Maybe a parenthetical timestamp (09:44) at the end of the link.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Someone already added that. Thanks, rodneyAnonymous!
EDIT: Okay, how did I not notice was that guy? I feel so stupid now

Pinball cleanup threadGreat work, everyone; locking up.
I think Suspicious Video-Game Generosity would be much better with an image.
To start off the thread, I would suggest this screencap◊ of Rockman 4 Minus ∞, which takes the trope Up To Eleven.
