Witch Watch continues to be a delight. It’s great that they’re holding back on the whimsical magic.
Love the irony on I Tell C’s cliché fourth wall villain calling out Ukon for being as cliché as he is.
And Nigejouzu went with a pretty predictable setup for the next chapter’s competition. The bad guy tries to scores his points by shooting Tokiyuki, Tokiyuki dodges and gets his own points by properly shooting the dogs. I’m betting on a “low number to zero” victory.
I’m surprised Witch Watch didn’t reference Jojo’s Cheap Trick this week.
Witch Watch: Moi has a taste for vintage fashion, that sure is a random character trait. Also he’s such a smooth talker. Or maybe Niko is just that infatuated with him.
Mashle: Remember the iron wand Mash got? He literally forges it into a tennis racket with his bare hands. Wow.
Sakamoto Days: Hmmm is it time for a training arc?!
Hardboiled Cop and Dolphin: My attention is drifting away...
Elusive Samurai: A fight via horseback archery huh, we don’t get a lot of that!
Build King: The exam’s barely started and already bad guys are screwing things up. Eh, alright.
Phantom Seer: Stuff happens. Overall still boring.

i tell c: Going by the development, looks like this is getting axed soon. Too bad, I think the concept could have been explored better. Not sure I actually like the reveal that Aioi's criminal obsession is a form of her being an All-Loving Heroine, though.
@Comun: the "cliched" one is Sakon, not Ukon, BTW. But yeah, he's kind of a typical Stock Shōnen Hero.
Witch Watch: Well, I was getting into it with the addition of the other classmates, but they seem to be just a Social Circle Filler for the two leads, whom I'm not really fond of.
- When will we know how much Build King's first volume is selling?
- Phantom Seer 's placement at the bottom strikes me as kinda odd. Last I checked its sales seemed to be doing good, so I wonder what the editor's logic is with placing it last since I get no hint from the story that they're cancelling it.
- Witch Watch sure is a delight once again, and it will probably make us cry eventually, considering the author.
- Elusive Samurai actually told a good joke this week.
- Not gonna lie, so far I'm kinda vibing with Nine Dragons.
- Cop and Dolphin is obviously being cancelled. At this point it has neither humor nor good action.
- This week probably had one of the best chapters so far of Magu-Chan, which is impressive considering how little technically happened.
-sigh- Lost passwords...Bizarrely, i tell c volume 1 is scheduled for April 30th, but none of the rest of its batch even have a date yet.

Votes, it's not getting votes
I think Phantom Seer do attract readers, however due to the voting system, Phantom Seer usually don't get much vote. Imagine it keep end up as people 4th or 5th choice each week for the majority of the vote.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieAlso Nico continues to be a glorious disaster and I find her despair at the idea of effort very relatable.
>Kaijuu 8 volume 2 (Jump+): 30… wait, that can’t be right… 301,425 copies? What the fuck
Kaiju #8 is pretty friggin fun. So yea, i'm shocked it sells so well but i'm not surprised it sells.
Is it supposed to be kaijuu no. 8 or Monster no. 8. I've seen both used at times ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Kaijuu is basically the Japanese word for big monster so it doesn't really matter which one you use
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThere two titles also correspond to the two different official translations.
This week's High School Family is one of those "and we shall never speak of this again" chapters.

14. Build King
Interesting placement for Elusive Samurai. Either it’s crazy popular or they want to promote the hell out of it since it’s so different.
Build King is probably toast.
I suppose if Build King goes down soon I won't need to spend much time keeping track of what each color of vigor does.
Is that the build manga that doesn't actually involve building?
I've never actually read that, but when i heard about that i was just "hell no".
Yes, the main character is too strong for his material so he just breaks everything. I knew the series would go downhill from the first chapter alone the moment he said "I'm still a builder because I build the peace."
You can smell the desperation since the current chapters have completely ditched the building and just gone full battle shonen.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That's one of those moments where you wonder, "why did no editor stop him". You have a manga about building. Why not actually make it about building.
Or if he breaks things, why not have him find some unique material in ch1 that doesn't break and then he has to go find more. Like "yea see i'm not an idiot who can't build, but oh god now i have to go quest so this isn't literally my only creation".

Honestly, I've never cared much about Toriko and Build King is even more boring.
To Toriko's credit, it at least had the retro Fist of the North Star vibe where the protagonists are muscled behemoths.
Build King instead stars children and so it doesn't really stand out from the rest of the pack.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Um... to set the record straight, Build King does involve construction, and in fact what devak pointed out here is also mentioned in the series.
That said, the building stuff probably wasn’t popular hence the noticeable shot to more typical action shonen developments.
Build King is as much of a construction manga as Toriko is a food manga: it actually isn't, it's a battle shonen with a quirky gimmick.
And as noted Toriko largely got carried by its Genre Throwback aesthetic to manly 80s manga like FotNS. Build King is still noticeably old-school in its art but not in as noteworthy of a way.
