It occurs to me that this show immediately dated itself from its inception, what with the theme song being, "Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me / If you wanna page me, it's okay."

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

Well, that's not really an issue. You can do more damage to your art by trying too hard not to tie it to a specific time period, and if it lasts long enough to outgrow the time period it's from, it can change to match the current times.

Plus anyone who remembers those lyrics will have an easier time tracking the show down later if they don't quite remember enough to just jump to it. They'll know roughly what time it's from and narrow down the search.

It always seemed to me that what Drakken really wanted was *respect*, so I can see him doing a Heel–Face Turn after years of evil just made him a laughingstock and then one big good deed put him onstage getting a medal.

I just watched the one Kim Possible episode I hadn't seen. Ironically it turned out to be Rewriting History, which is rendered non-canon by the ending anyway.

I liked it a lot though. It was funny seeing Ancestor!Kim and Ancestor!Shego fight in ridiculously impractical dresses.

Kim Possible was my favorite show to watch on Disney Channel with my older sister and babysitter(s) as a kid. The characters, voices, animation, and story were all likable, and it was very ahead of the curve with its female action hero. Better yet, it lacked the narcissistic and self-serving nature that many female-driven shows nowadays unfortunately have as a result of trying to appeal to the internet generation. Too bad Bob Schooley and Mark Mc Corkle never made another formal show.

It can't be helped.

Yeah I'm... hoping this show isn't referenced on The Mary Sue somewhere as a model feminist show, but it probably is... I caught the finale once, but never had Disney Channel so I never watched it. The song's been stuck in my head for years.

This, Jackie Chan Adventures, Juniper Lee, Xiaolin Showdown, and Code Lyoko - some of the only cartoons I regret not watching.

Did this show ever have an origin episode? From what I understand Kim started a website, where she said she could do anything. Dirty internet lingo aside, she was a babysitter at first, but eventually some government body asked her to go on a mission or something, and she just went with it from there? I'm curious if this was ever dwelled upon in the show, or if it was part of an advert.

A Sitch in Time showed it, she got her first mission due to a typo. Some rich guy got trapped by his own laser defense system and tried to contact Team Impossible through their website and added a "K" by mistake.

[up] A *Sitch in Time. Gotta get that pun in there.

Why not? It wouldn't be inaccurate, to be honest. A show portraying its female main character as an actual human being with a full range of emotions and interests? *ock and shorror*

I always appreciated that despite the whole "she can do anything!" angle in the show, it still gave Kim some pretty good character flaws. I love the episode where she fails her driving test and goes into an existential crisis as a result.

[up][up]Granted many fan consider Ron to be the real protagonist and I kinda agree, mostly because making the ace the main lead is bold move in itself

Disney XD is giving a lot of the show. I guess it's in preparation for the movie.

[up] XD gives it likke 5+ timee a day, I swear. I had to stop auto-recording because they air so often.

I'm surprised by the sudden influx of Kim Possible but am pleasantly surprised. I've recently gotten into the fandom again (and by that I mostly mean "I read nothing but Kigo fics" but that's besides the point) and it's interesting to see what the new film will look like. The fandom is surprisingly active despite its age... It's been ten years since the finale, seriously? Time flies.

Disney XD has been running week long marathons of some old show's. Some of the old show's include Lilo and Stitch, Randy Cunningham, Phineas and Ferb, Fish Hooks, and Kick Buttowski. For some reason Kim Possible was shown two weeks in a row.

I was making a joke. I was also trying to use the humor mode link. I only brought it summer airing in order to explain why the show was on so much.

I mean, I'd watch a live action Phineas and Ferb movie.

I'm imagining an 80's style kid adventure-esque flick in which the two build something crazy and it sends them to the moon or something.

Since we're talking about movies . . .

Here is the teaser trailer for the live action Kim Possible movie being made for Disney Channel.

It makes sense that Kim Possible would get a film or a reboot. It's been nearly twenty years (geeze, that's a terrifying thought) since it came out. Every 20 years is when nostalgia retools and Spiritual Successors come out. It was 1980s nostalgia in the 2000s, 1991-1995 nostalgia circa 2010-2016, and now we're in the prime 1996-2002 nostalgia period. I heard they're already rebooting Blue's Clues and Rugrats, plus we've had PPG reboot, the Rocko's Modern Life film, and The Jungle Movie. It's just a waiting game seeing what other hit shows get live action films and unneeded reboots.

[up] Reality Is Unrealistic is hitting hard right now. Kim being played by a teenager is weird. She seems too young.

Watching that teaser makes me realized how dated "What's the sitch?" is. Come to think of it, I'm surprised it was even passable then; it only barely sounds like 2000s slang, from that decade-to-decade transition period.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."
