Note that from what I understand, Death and Oblivion are morally-neutral forces of nature, not exactly pleasant but necessary. The Children of the Anti-All like Knull and Mikaboshi are a lot more straight-up malevolent, so I don't think Death and Oblivion are the same sort of being.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."There was one writer stuck on the idea that Mikaboshi was an infinitesimal part of Oblivion. Amatsu Mikaboshi in his chaos king upgrade was just a sliver of Oblivion.
Personally, I dislike that development. I think the gods and Marvel's abstracts should be separate entities. Separate entities that learned how to talk to one another and made some deals, but separate existences that usually do their own thing, like foxes and badgers occasionally team up to hunt rabbits, but usually have nothing to do with one another otherwise. I also dislike the idea of Oblivion being ultimate end all destruction dude but Death can be kicked off of her motorcycle by Ghost Rider, sent running in fear by Walker and forced to let people into her domain by The Stranger. If Eternity can be chained up and crushed to death by Insane Genis, Oblivion shouldn't get any reverence either.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesThis panel from the latest Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver is hilarious
So that's how long a speedster thinks
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Pietro's openly talked about how part of the reason he's such a little prick is because everyone else is moving in slow motion compared to him so everything feels ridiculously and tediously dragged out.
The other part of it is that he’s just a prick.
Other speedsters are less cantankerous so Pietro is definitely a massive part of the problem
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDC's Flash actually has similar issues, but unlike Pietro he doesn't use them as an excuse to be a jerk.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWhat's funny about the What If where Wonder Man didn't die and he hooked up with Wanda instead of Vision is that Pietro is, if anything, more pissed off at Wonder Man dating his sister as he was at Vision. He went and rejoined Magneto and became Grim Reaper, somehow, just to try to sabotage Wanda's happiness.
Pietro hates Wanda dating anyone, he just disguised it as robophobia.
He's more chill these days but that's a low bar.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAdorably this issue contains a pretty heartwarming moment between Vis and Pietro
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
And Pietro ain't an easy person to care for, especially considering he's not exactly always been accepting of Wanda's relationship to Vision.
And you can tell from his reaction that even he's like really? But I kinda suck!
One Strip! One Strip!Even Pietro knows he's a hard person to like, and he owns it. Which makes him all the more appreciative for the people who do like him, even if he doesn't like to admit it.
Vision is a pretty forgiving sort. The only being he truly and rightly despises is Ultron.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMost sentient beings do. Even the ones he creates. Or especially those.
Wake me up at your own risk. You can tell Pietro just pushes people away because he feels he doesn't deserve companionship, especially after all the bullshit Magneto puts him through.
He really isn't an easy guy to love.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The way Erik treated Pietro throughout the entire time he knew him is one of the worst black spots in his character.
He has that much in common with Charles, whose poor treatment of David is also one of his worst failings.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWanda: “but in my truest true heart, the man that abused me and my brother is my only real, true father instead of the kind man that raised us both from childhood and I’m saying this in a magically enforced zone of truth so I mean it 100% percent”
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSay what you will about Pietro, but at least his attitude towards Erik — mainly bitter resentment and contempt — makes more sense.
Again, kind of like David who understandably doesn't really trust his father Charles.

Disgusted, but not surprisedNow I want to read a David and Pietro scene where they bond over this stuff.
There was a What If? story "What If The Avengers Had Become Pawns Of Korvac" that culminates in Korvac destroying the entire universe with the Ultimate Nullifier by thinking of "all that has been, is, and will be" and pressing the button. It was revealed Death was behind it all to win her war against Eternity, and she succeeded with the universe's destruction.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Death is sometimes portrayed as a more neutral party, but in a lot of appearances it's made very clear that she genuinely enjoys it when things die.
In the Doom 2019 miniseries for example, she helps Doom escape from Mephisto because he will become her "greatest servant". Her prediction comes true at the end when Doom uses the Ultimate Nullifier to kill an entire universe in which his counterpart became a hero and made everything better...because said counterpart swallowed his pride and worked with and befriended Reed Richards.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI wonder if she and DC's Death would get along or not.
The Protomen enhanced my life. They would not. DC's Death used to be more like that, but she grew up. Yes, Death being a Perky Goth is her maturing.
It helps that DC's Death makes a point of incarnating herself as a mortal to experience life for a day...and then dying at the end of that day upon which the incarnation is escorted by Death. It's Death's way of reminding herself of "the high cost of living" (said miniseries' title) and thus she never forgets the value of life.

Disgusted, but not surprisedTIL of La Bandera, a really neat superhero who was sadly killed off-panel. :( https://www.cbr.com/wolverine-marvel-wasted-revolutionary-mutant-superhero-bandera/
I love how her power works!
The Protomen enhanced my life. And her death was part of Gruenwald wrapping up an abandoned arc in Alpha Flight, which introduced the hero killer, who was twisting time and showing each victim photos of their own death before attacking them.
I think the Captain America run retconned him into a more mundane villain who faked the photos for kicks. Either way, he never actually encountered Alpha Flight in their own book.
Jim Lew drew a new cover for the upcoming Marvel vs DC omnibus
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
It's a bit disturbing to note just how many ways people can potentially game the system in the Marvel verse. There are so many potential paths to godhood and beyond. The M'Kraan Crystal, the Infinity Gems, the Cosmic Cubes, the Dominionhood introduced in X-Men...
Disgusted, but not surprised
