I'm amused that so many people have gotten Spider-powers by now, even Felicia and Flash, but not Aunt May or J. Jonah Jameson.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I think there was a Spider in one Spider-Verse thing. JJJ, I don't recall, probably Spider-Island counts?
Any other one of Pete or Miles' friends you want to see webslinging?
Wake me up at your own risk.I can see why that is the case. JJJ having spider powers seems like a one way trip to derailment (either he walks a mile in Spider Man's shoes and realizes that he isn't a menace, or be goes full supervillain) and Aunt May is the kind of person Peter doesn't want anywhere near what he puts up with as Spider-Man and the dangers thereof while also being his strongest link to normalcy (MJ's in on the secret, Gwen, Felicia and Flash wound up as superheroes...in a sense and everyone else he knows likewise is a super).

Plus, we already have Spider Ma'am for Spider Aunt May so ....
Edit: Also, wouldn't they have both gotten powers during Spider-Island?

One Strip! One Strip!I'm amused at how big this category is. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Radioactive_Spider-Powered
But out of all of those, there's only been 1 Aunt May and Uncle Ben with spider-powers, 1 Betty Brant, 2 John Jameson, and 3 Flashes and Harrys, but no JJJ. Yet.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Annnnd I finally finished Devil's Reign, now I can move onto the new DD ongoing.
Ya know it's interesting out of tbe characters who got a Defenders show DD is the only one who can support an ongoing.
Like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones were both pretty well-received as well but neither character has gotten a book in a while.
Luke is especially notable since he was supposed to get a new mini around Devil's Reign came out but it got canceled.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It’d be very easy to give a private eye book to Jessica but they already did that book with the other Jessica
Forever liveblogging the AvengersJessica Jones does seem to get minis on a pretty regular basis, at least.
I feel like a lot of it comes down to too many readers simply not being interested in any book that hasn't been in continuous publication since the '60s. It's the same reason Ms. Marvel's comics tend not to be big-sellers. If a comic hasn't already been around for nearly 60 years, most of the comic readership simply doesn't give a shit.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.[8]
At this point? Make a Spider-family out of Pete's graduating class. Make a what if where everybody but Peter got Spider Powers. Spiderverse meet Spider Hero Academia.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).luke really should get a series of him being mayor
Political drama
I expect marvel hasn’t touched it so much so far because Mayor Luke can’t actually pass any lasting legislation or change many things because of world outside your window
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAt the moment Mayor Luke has has appearances in Daredevil and has a major role in the new Thunderbolts series since the team is commissioned by him
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I saw him in the avengers by which I mean hawkeye judgment day tie in
Wherein he got annoyed at being included because he’s very busy being mayor, just a full schedule of mayoral stuff
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWorld Outside Your Window is stupid and I hate it. It's one thing if you want to keep it similar to the real world, but it's another when stuff that should have a visible impact on the setting doesn't. Say what you want about Civil War, but it attempted to break away from that, even if the execution was lacking.
Wait a minute, the lack of a Luke comic is notable since both Jess and Ironfist got new comics recently.
Jess got The Variants and while Ironfist doesn't star Danny it's still an IF comic.
So the lack of an actual Luke title is notable.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm sure he'll get one eventually.
And checking Wikipedia, his debut was 50 years ago, in June 72. Given the way Marvel's marking anniversaries for Ant-Man, Wasp etc., I'm surprised all Luke gets is a desk job in politics.
While I don't know if it's one of the reasons, I've always felt that Luke's power-set is a bit underwhelming compared to Jessica's and Iron Fist's powers.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThey should bring back Heroes for Hire with Luke, Jess Jones and Iron Fist (Danny version). With She Hulk as the team's legal rep.
Luke is a bargain bin Hulk. That's it. He's strong and tough, but not that strong and tough and he has nothing else going for him. Other characters can do what he can and more, or do what he can but better. He's not a bad character, but his powers have always been a bit middling.
I think that’s reductionist to an absurd degree
You might as well say Hulk is the Thing with added complexity
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNot the most visually impressive character, but he is cool, really. Could use a new book.
Wake me up at your own risk.Luke does have the advantage of being hard to kill due to his powers.
Like, you're gonna have a tough time taking out a dude who can tank most high end bullets.
I think even lasers don't put much of a dent in him. Which means that, in his job as Mayor, if you try and assassinate him, you're gonna need to shell out cash for someone who either bypasses his durability, or just punches at a higher weight class....which will be hard for most dudes.
Either you can't afford someone that strong, or you can....and are immediately a suspect because of that wealth.
Heck, his powers mean he can skimp on a personal guard and put that money into other things.
One Strip! One Strip!I have looked at pages of his old comics and Luke really did have a huge personality.
Like he was a big guy with a very dynamic characterization, you can see how he got popular.
While he may not have the most interesting powerset, he more than makes up for it in character.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Jubilee probably has more raw power, but she holds back a lot. She doesn't really enjoy blowing shit up the way Boom-Boom does. Jubilee uses her power for distraction, while Boom-Boom uses hers for destruction.
