The whole Phoenix Tournament pretty much make me think that Marvel Universe should NEVER run contest/competitions of any kind with their heroes as the rules, scoring and bracket systems tend to not be clear.

Amusingly I'm pretty sure other cosmic beings have created logical enough tournaments.
So the Phoenix really is incompetant.

X of Swords was one such tournament. And while the rules were pretty wonky there too, that at least was justified by the one holding the tournament being a biased and petty jerk.

This tournament might be the least dangerous thing the Phoenix has ever done. Maybe we'll find out someone put this idea in it's head so it has something to occupy itself besides destroying planets and harassing redheads.

The Phoenix is being biased and a jerk too! it seemingly just wants T’Challa to win. Also it tried to get Moon Knight to burn Earth.

As for recycling the names of unpopular stories, there's also an issue of Chip Zdarskys Daredevil where Mike Murdock is retconned into being someone real all along, with backstory and all, instead of Matt's Fake Twin Gambit that turned real because of reality-warping. The story was named "One more day".

I read the portion about T'Challa's politicking against Nighthawk, and that reminded me: how has the "superhuman arms race" subplot advanced? Last I read Dracula was setting up shop in Chernobyl.
