Huh. Considering how ruthless Charles has been lately, that's surprising to hear.
One Strip! One Strip!Do we know anyone that speaks Japanese clearly and fluently that could be good for the role? Also, the reactions when he introduces himself as the Emissary from Hell will be interesting.

Wake me up at your own risk.Man that slott episode of the marvel documentary series was sad but also hilarious. Like I feel bad for everyone that isn't slott but at the same time slott getting distracted by Twitter and needing a cowriter because of it is just so funny to me
Also it was this thread I think tiamatty found https://mobile.twitter.com/Matt_Sibley/status/1330172627529457664

That was indeed the thread. And as a side note, while Slott is being deeply disrespectful to his editors by falling behind, his editors are also being deeply disrespectful to the rest of the team by letting him fall behind so much.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Somewhere Shooter is intensifying.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAs much as he got wrong, the guy also got a ton right.
How is Warlock supposed to be a mutant?
And yeah I agree with Bocaj. They don't have to undo the Retcon that Wanda and Quicksilver aren't mutants. If they want mutants on the Avengers there are plenty to choose from.
In X-Factor (2006) Tryp the Eldest scolds a trio of supervillains note that their squabbling is just as bad as the Avengers and the X-Men. Think about that. The X-Men and the Avengers are so dysfunctional that their ability to get along is comparable to a bunch of supervillains.

Warlock’s a mutant because he can feel empathy which is something his species naturally isn’t capable of.
Yes that is technically true but those 2 are the most famous & well-liked for it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I say we save Beast from all the moral ambiguity that he keeps doing on the X-Men by putting him on the Avengers where characters like Black Panther and Iron Man already do all the moral ambiguity.
The Avengers is where he can go to chill because other people are already doing his other usual roles.
Edit: But re: the Maximoffs I'm okay with the compromise someone suggested where Quicksilver can be a mutant and Wanda doesn't need to be, since her powers have long not really been much about her mutant power.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersNot to modern mainstream audiences, sadly.
Hey thats not fair, the Avengers haven't had a friendship sundering argument that left people dead and relationships strained for four whole years.
Or maybe a whole month in-universe.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWe haven't actually had a hero vs hero event in a long while.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."How is that Avengers: No Surrender event anyway?
@windleopard Wait but we’re talking about the comics here though. If what the mainstream audience mattered then Hawkeye would be a married farmer, Spider-Man would be working under Iron Man, & Thanos’ motivation would be about misguidedly saving the universe instead of trying to court death.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Avengers No Surrender was pretty good
Had some great moments for various characters like Quicksilver and Living Lightning. Sadly it pretty assertively shuffled several characters into limbo since the era of avengers was ending.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWait what do you mean by shuffling characters and an era ending exactly?
Edited by slimcoder on Nov 21st 2020 at 9:46:49 AM
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Avengers No Surrender was a crossover between the regular Avengers, the Uncanny Unity ones, and the US Avengers and ended all three books. Regular Avengers was relaunched after the event as Jason Aaron's run.
Through various of the events in the story, several characters like new Red Hulk or Pod who were part of those cancelled books and didn't have established history to fall back on end up depowered and shuffled off into limbo to tidy up the roster.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAh yeah that is unfortunate. The low-tier characters are stuck in limbo until the next writer decides to use them.
Always the sad part about the hierarchy of comics.
Edit: Wait a minute. The event is listed as 16 issues but the trade lists issues 675 to 690 which is 15 issues to my counting.
Edited by slimcoder on Nov 21st 2020 at 11:09:21 AM
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Issue 675 is counted too.
Wait 675, 676, 677- 687, 688, 689, 690.
Okay yeah I was counting wrong.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Are there any modern equivalents to John Romita Sr. in terms of art style?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Huh, it's come to my knowledge that the TV Tropes page for the New Warriors 2020 series got nuked. Like, it's not there anymore.
Ah well. Nobody was looking forward to that groan-inducing series anyway, right?
I know there's a John Romita Jr. currently on art duties for Bendis' Action Comics, but I don't know about his dad...
John Romita Jr has a fairly different art style compared to his dad.

From what I understand, there’s a policy against making page tropes for unreleased media. It is probably due for a page in Development Hell.
I wonder who will voice him.
