They've claimed Warlock was a mutant since around about his introduction
But yeah, good point. I hope they don't make Super Doctor Astronaut Peter Corbeau a mutant.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOr Kitty Pryde's dance instructor Stevie Hunter. Anyone remember her?
Trimming the hedges, one trope at a time.Yeah, I don't know what happened with her.
One Strip! One Strip!Knowing how they like depriving them of human allies, either she is going to be outed as a mutant or died while on one of the attacks by either side.
Wake me up at your own risk.Re: X-gene.
X-gene was around since the very first issue. Xavier called it 'that extra (X) gene that gives mutant powers' when explaining how she got her powers to Jean. Allegedly, that's why he named the team 'X-Men'.

Of course we all know he named them after himself
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMoira apparently called him out for this in one comic.
He looked legitimately surprised she brought it up, and admitted he hadn't considered it, and that it was named for the X-gene.
One Strip! One Strip!I wonder which genetics xpert named it
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI kinda feel unity between Mutants & humans will be back to being a thing prolly when the X-Men start making their appearance in the movies.
Cause the Avengers are definitely gonna have at least one Mutant among their ranks afterwards & probably vice-versa.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You mean as long as they don't get retconned out of that.
One Strip! One Strip!What retcon?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Wanda and Pietro.
One Strip! One Strip!Well they are obviously gonna get retconned back into Mutants.
Even the movies is somewhat setting up a reveal as to what they actually are.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, and that's gonna be a real clusterfuck too, considering Krakoa's issues with Wanda right now.

One Strip! One Strip!Well it’s not really that much of an issue.
Wanda’s an Avenger & doesn’t need the security Krakoa provides.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And she got a side gig teaching at Marvel Hogwarts.
Wake me up at your own risk.Still don't want her to be made a mutant again.
But in terms of Avengers and X-Men, there was the unity team for a while and Sunspot had his own team with his bestie buddy Cannonball.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe unity team had a lot of issues didn't it?
Like, I don't think they actually got along all that well did they?
One Strip! One Strip! At least in the first volume. Didn't read past that because first volume.
Rogue was a real jerk!

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI feel like you say the same thing for every none X-Men Mutant.
I believe the one by Duggan went better relatively. At most people had problems with Deadpool & Rogue had issues with the Inhuman member Synapse.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I recall Janet wasn't a big fan of Logan either, but that's Logan, and I think she's totally justified in hating him.
One Strip! One Strip!I miss the various non-Xmen academies.
Like the Avengers Academy.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. That one got killed by the Avengers Arena/ Undercover duology sadly enough.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well that was an attempt to revive it but it was part of the Hank Pym/Tigra academy and I understand they're broken up too.

Yeah, I miss having non-mutants in the X-Men, like Moira MacTaggart — oh, wait, she's a mutant now. Well, how about Mimic — he's a mutant now, too!? Well, at least Warlock — he's also a mutant!?
