Amuro Ray.
Late-series Kamille too.
Loran, maybe? He'd definitely sympathize with the cause.
I actually like Milliardo for it. Possibly even post-OYW Char, with the idea that he'd always have a place as a pilot without having to lead or politick.
You need people who are ideologically aligned, are loyal, and have zero compunctions about killing, in ascending order of priority. Celestial Being doesn't recruit heroes, it recruits weapons broken enough to be usefully jagged. Mikazuki would be a good pick, and so would Shinn and Darryl. Loran, on the other hand, is way too stable. Early-series Domon would be an interesting choice - his combat skills would make him top priority for Veda, but his grudge is extremely personal, and would likely conflict with CB's focus on the bigger picture. That would also allow an intriguing replacement for Alejandro Corner - Master Asia. Celestial Being's mission, to force humanity to unite through violence and trickery, betrays a deeply cynical attitude towards the human condition, and it's not hard to see why a sufficiently jaded Observer might just go 'fuck it, exterminate the brutes and let something better evolve in their place'.

What's precedent ever done for us?Yeah, a big part of 00's Gundam pilots is that Veda wants to keep them under control. That means picking someone who shares Veda's goals and doesn't mind Veda's methods, or picking someone who can be controlled. Celestial Being is largely built around preventing someone like Amuro or Kira from deciding "screw you, you're an asshole, I'm taking your Gundam and doing what I want with it".
Which immediately disqualifies many of the most skilled Gundam pilots. The people you end up with are ones with chips on their shoulders that can easily be pointed at targets and told "they're the bad guys, go kill them". Kamille and Shinn, Kou, and Mikazuki are the only ones that really stand out in that regard.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. What about Riddhe? He was recruited by Martha Vist Carbine's faction to keep the Unicorn busy until they could get Gryps 2 working again, right?

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Riddhe's whole deal is that he's a staid conservative trying (and mostly failing) to deal with his weird, squiggly Newtype feelings. The revolutionary agenda of Celestial Being is the exact opposite of his thing, although he might make a serviceable Graham.
What's precedent ever done for us?Been rereading the thread from the start, and what I would most be interested in seeing from the first third of it is a story where Shinn and Relena interact.
He'd call her stupid and idealistic.
And probably try to kill Heero.

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Maybe not. Shinn strikes me as the type who hates Relena's type as ignorant to how the world really works but has, on some level, grudging respect for people not afraid to bring on the pain when there's a warmongering asshole whose ass sorely needs kicking.
For a minute, I thought someone wanted Shinn to off Relena.

Nah, he'd consider her Not Worth Killing due to her not being able to hurt a fly.
It's funny that the last time the topic came up, it went the other way around — that between her natural charisma/leadership ability and The Dulcinea Effect, Shinn would've more-or-less taken to Relena like a "heroic Durandal".
I'd agree with that if I thought Relena had any charisma or leadership ability.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Relena is an attractive teenage girl with boundless drive, boundless idealism, and an unending hatred for war. Shinn would have a goddamned shrine to her if she got to him before Durandal did.

What's precedent ever done for us?Yeah, but she doesn't really do much except make a pretty symbol. She talks big ideals, but leaves the real work to others. Shinn has generally reacted very poorly to that.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. Her entire goal is to promote dialogue over armed conflict, and she's actually pretty decent at it, knowing who to speak to and how. As the ruler of a tiny European kingdom, she manages to make herself enough of an ideological threat to the all-powerful Rommefeller Foundation that they were forced to get her Kicked Upstairs in order to shut her up, and then she used her newfound access to start directly subverting them, until a majority of the Foundation were on her side and their leader, Dermail, was all but exiled. By the end, she's even managed to compromise Dorothy, her Evil Counterpart.
Endless Waltz doubles down on this - she provokes a popular uprising with an incomplete broadcast, and talks her captor around so effectively that she ends up Taking the Bullet for her.
Relena is consistently presented as totally fearless and incredibly persuasive, the sort of person who will walk into a bandit fortress and talk them into becoming an animal rescue instead. That sheer force of will is something that Shinn is extremely susceptible to.
What's precedent ever done for us?Had another Gundam + Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha crossover idea, this time by method of having that series take place on Cosmic Era Earth, about a decade or so after the end of the Second Bloody Valentine War.
Wish Upon A Seed
"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight."
Brow furrowed with his fervent wish, a young boy prayed up to the starry night. "I wish my dad will come home safely."
"What, that's all you want?"
The owner of the second voice, a handsome man with blonde hair, smirked down at his son with amusement. "Don't you worry about a thing, kid. After all," he said as his smirked deepened with just a little cockiness, "I never lose. Once I'm on the Dominion, those space monsters'll be exterminated in no time!"
Proud of his dad, as so many youngsters are, the boy cheered, before he let his father put him to bed.
As the boy drifted off to sleep, he felt a strong sense of security. His was just a small wish, after all — surely, there's no way it wouldn't come true.
My dad is the coolest....
_______________
Orb Union, CE 88
"...so my dad is actually my mom's second husband," one young lady concluded to her friends as they left school for the day.
"Huh. I never really would have guessed," said wealthy heiress Alisa Bannings, "but in hindsight it does explain why your brother and sister have black hair when neither of your parents do."
"Yep! I don't see my dad as much as I'd like to because of his job, but he's really cool! He knows all kinds of things about computers and robots!" A moment later, she giggled. "Although sometimes he can be kind of silly, too."
"Wow," gasped one Suzuka Tsukimura. "I'd like to meet him someday."
"I'm not surprised," Alisa said with a fond roll of the eyes, "given that you're going to be an engineer when you grow up."
As the trio came in sight of the street, their attention was caught by the honking of a car horn. While Suzuka and Alisa glanced in the direction of the noise in surprise, their friend's eyes widened with shock, before morphing into glee. "Dad?!"
The car was a good few years old, being designed for economy of travel and for carrying a family. Emerging from the driver's seat was a handsome adult male with brown hair and violet eyes. When the nine year old girl leapt into his arms, he smiled warmly, spinning her around as they laughed. "I can't believe you're here, Dad! Is it really okay for you to pick me up?!"
"Things have been nice and quiet for a while, Nanoha," he said while letting his daughter back on the ground, "so the Captain let me go on vacation for a while."
Almost jumping out of her shoes in excitement, Nanoha gaped. "You mean, you're going to be home this week?!"
Her dad shook his head, before making a 'peace' sign. "Two weeks," he said with a smile.
"Two whole weeks?! We can do all kinds of stuff together!"
"We sure can," he agreed. Turning to Suzuka and Alisa, he asked, "Are you Nanoha's friends?"
Blushing in embarrassment, Nanoha quickly turned back to her peers. "Dad, these are Alisa Bannings and Suzuka Tsukimura, my best friends in school!"
Absolutely beaming with pride, she then threw her arms around her father, hugging him at the waist. "This is my dad, and he's the coolest dad ever! His name is Kira, Kira Yamato!"
Thoughts?
Good.
Something that came to me a few minutes ago. What if Rosamia actually was Kamille's sister instead of it being a product of her delusions?
Then Kamille's father has got some explaining to do.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...It doesn't necessarily have to be a matter of him sleeping around.
Specifically, they're both old enough to have been around during the OYW and Rosamia remembers the colony drop. So I thought, what if Rosamia was in a boarding school on Earth during Operation British, saw the colony on TV and, being a child, thought it was the one her parents and Kamille were living on? Even though people told her there are many colonies out there, she was convinced that it must've been the one because it looked exactly like it (remember, children don't think logically and are quite hard to shake out of childish delusions like chuuni). So she ran away and wandered for a while until she was picked up by peacekeeping forces sometime later, told them her family died in the colony drop and eventually ended up in the hands of the scientists who turned her into a Cyber-Newtype under the reasoning that there's no reason to double-check her story because even if her family is actually alive, there's no chance to track down her whereabouts anyway with all the dead left after Operation British.
Had an interesting little idea. Suppose you're Veda, and you need to choose some Gundam Meisters for Celestial Being. But for whatever reason, you can only pick characters from non-AD Gundam universes. Who do you pick?
