You can't tag two articles in the same thread. For convenience, the two you're talking about are Infraction Distraction and Confess to a Lesser Crime.
Merging them seems like a good idea to me; they do look extremely similar. Someone's gonna need to explain what the supposed difference is to me. And I've seen tropes merged over less.
I'd rather keep the title Infraction Distraction, though. It just sounds cooler. Also, it has more wicks, which helps.

Infraction Distraction also covers things that are not confessions — such as planting evidence of the lesser crime, or even committing it — and the title is likewise broader, so I would keep it and merge the other if actually confessing is not enough to distinguish the subtrope.

I'm not sure if these two pages should be rolled into a single trope or if the distinction between them needs to be made more clear, but if they are separate tropes, there are some examples on one page that should go on the other. On the other hand, maybe merging the two is the way to go. What do you think?
