I just bought a pizza. From Dominos... Through the internet... What is making me go "uh wow...." is that the tracker is telling me "Heidi started making your pizza at 6:33 pm"... I don't know about you but that is so specific it's kind of... invasive?
Real Life rwby roseI've never seen an online pizza order service tell you who is making your order at the exact time. It''s been "Your order is being delivered" or something.
Yeah, Dominoes' is really in-depth. I didn't get to watch mine get done when I ordered from them because I only got my order through due to a glitch and had to leave immediately to pick it up. (I wanted to order at 11:30, they closed at midnight, and shouldn't have taken a carryout order that late, so I had to promise I could pick it up before they closed.)
Too bad their pizza isn't good enough to go for more often.

Fresh-eyed movie blogMy favorite pizza is one with garlic chicken and pesto sauce instead of tomato sauce.
Or maybe Chicago deep dish. Aurelio's is good stuff.
Or maybe Arni's style thin-crust.
I didn't write any of that.I prefer thin crust. Marinara's okay, but not my favorite by a long shot.
And I'm usually less in favor of any particular topping than in favor of particular combinations. (Well, okay, I'm not fond of green peppers. And bacon and artichoke hearts are pretty much essential.)
Domino's went through this kind of "we're sorry we sucked so much" phase a few years ago, and the online step-by-step thing was part of their roll out of I think the online pizza tracker thing was part of their roll out of improvements. I could do without most of the crap (why do I care when the pizza's in the oven?), but the thing telling you that it's out for delivery is helpful.
And if you haven't tried the "romantic" skin at least once, you might be insecure about a few things.
Hubby's currently working at Round Table because the job market is shitty. Therefore, I'm technically not supposed to get Domino's, even though they used to be my go-to if I couldn't afford actual good pizza.
I still sometimes occasionally at least order chicken tenders or something.

There's a regional chain here called Barlo's that's slightly adequate in quality but fantastic in variety, and has a pretty cheap lunch buffet that's almost as liberal in variety as CiCi's (nobody can top the macaroni and cheese pizza).
Barlo's also advertises a 29 inch pizza, and has an eating challenge with it. I think I've got a shot at it, if I can scratch together enough time.
Fresh-eyed movie blogThe only Cici's near me closed.
I just scoped out a Pizza Hut near where I am that used to be a buffet. If it still is, they're too ashamed to advertise as such.
Fresh-eyed movie blogThere aren't many Pizza Huts where you can sit down at and eat around here. The only one I know of was replaced by a shopping center.
I had a pizza for lunch. But it was only a peperoni pizza and nothing fancy.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. It used to be a Pizza Hut buffet, but then they got a Pizza Hut/Wing Street remodel, and there are no signs outside indicating if they're still a buffet.
Ended up having Cici's for lunch, so we did better than the Hut.
The variety wasn't as good as it has been, but I still got a few slices of chili pizza and several kinds of white-sauced pizza, including the mac and cheese.

Fresh-eyed movie blogFor anyone who may go to the city of Pueblo in Colorado, the best pizza in town there is two places. First and best is Angelo's Pizza Parlor on Union down by the Riverwalk. Pricey but totally worth it, they do New York style pizza and it is so damn good. Also they have beer and more toppings (including green chile) than you think of for pizza. Second and a close runner up for best is Tony and Joe's over on Pueblo Boulevard by the Wal-Mart. They do a more Chicago style pizza but it is also tasty.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Pizza Hut buffet?
What the—
We just get regular Pizza Hut here.
The only 'buffet' is the unlimited salad. Which is quite nice, actually.
Pizza Hut Buffets are starting to become rarer and rarer it seems.
Well, we never even got them on this side of the Atlantic.
Pizza hut was never my favorite pizza place. Or in my top 10
Eh, Pizza Hut is a bit too... 'everyone' for me.
I prefer some good ol' Pizza Express. Actual Italian pizza. Thin base, crispy, awesome.
Counter to the name, the food arrives in about 45 mins, but the wait is worth it.
I prefer Pizza Hut out of all the chain Pizza places, but most of the time I prefer local pizza places.
I only ever order Papa John's BBQ Chicken pizza with added sausages and pepperoni or bacon. Best pizza ever.
Likes many underrated webcomics^^ Pizza Hut is good if you aren't feeling particularly spendy but don't feel like "fast food" pizza a la Little Caesar's Hot-N-Ready stuff or Domino's.
Assuming infinite budget, I'd always choose Tony and Joe's or Angelo's over Pizza Hut or any chain.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Wouldn't the best thing be to hire real Italian pizzamakers to make you pizzas?
I don't think my town has any pizza places that aren't chains at all. This is a shame, my new goal in life is to one day move to a town where there's a local, somewhat run-down but homey feeling to it pizza joint.
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.
