Moving Pages to Fetish Fuel Wiki

As we probably all know by now that some porn-orientated pages are being cut from the wiki, and that some of us are less than happy about the changes.

We can easily transfer some of the cut pages to Fetish Fuel Wiki. However, we have a few problems.

1. We need to establish contact with those in charge.
2. We need to figure out which pages we're cutting Fetish Fuel Wiki will be able to host without them getting into trouble.
3. What format to use, since they don't have work pages—at the moment.

I'm going to use my account over at Fetish Fuel Wiki to establish contact with the admins. I'll volunteer to help handle the exchange.

Hopefully, we'll be able to arrange some sort of deal between each other, so we can save the most information as possible with little struggle.

I was under the impression you were an admin over there.

Anyway, I was going to wait til Eddie's done with all the P5 coding before bugging him with asking for the cut pages, but there are a few Porn with Plot games that will almost certainly be cut, but haven't yet, that we can move over.

Good luck. I got zero response when I contacted them about moving some of the Lemon fic recs over there.

I am an admin, but I left right after receiving the position, so it's iffy.

Is point 2 really an issue? If they relay on Google like we do they cant really take this stuff, if not then they should be able to host anything we cant without legal toruble. Have you seen the type of stuff that crops up on Gelbooru or 4Chan?

I hardly ever visit 4chan, but know enough about Gelbooru to not recommend it to Fetish Fuel Wiki for linking.

I wasnt recommending it, i was saying that if that site can survive its own contents, i think Fetish Fuel Wiki can survive whatever we could put on it.

There are pages that FFW doesn't allow. For one thing, anything involving minors in an explicit manner. Plus we just host FF examples of works, not work pages.

This might require a whole new wiki.

EDIT: I just checked, and we moved pages wholesale, without taking context into consideration, especially when we just had some pages cut for content that violated the wikia TOS. The move was clearly done in haste, and could make a lot of trouble that wiki doesn't need.

I dont advocate just cut pasting wholesale pages. Thats too sloppy.

And that seems to be largely what was done.

While I have heard of FFW, I never went there (as porn did not appeal to me much). It is clear FFW's role would be increased post-Content rules, and that wiki was historically split out of this wiki... But are there any kind or relationships or partnerships or whatnot towards this wiki? Using FFW as a receptacle for the cut pages may prevent (overly) estranging tropers.

FFW is an abandoned building. No one edits there anymore. I think the admins have given it up.

If someone can contact the admins that's great, but the project seems abandoned.

Someone needs a open a receptacle to these stuff, so much as I hate them.

We're all still there. Just waiting for hot stuff to put on the pages.

Oh, well, the page I wanted to add wasn't hot, just too hot for Tvtropes.

Just joking around. And like I said before, as long as there's no full-frontal or gushing about underage characters, it'll be fine.

Here's the content violation report. It's not very easy to navigate at the moment, but that's one place to see what will get cut, and needs to be moved. Aki Sora is probably to one you want to worry about the most right now.

I'm not sure how relevant it will be, but I've got some of the earliest cut stuff. Work pages, trope examples. You are going to have to wait though, until I get back home and catalogue what I have.

I just created this thread wondering about off-site preservation of this content, in general.

If we can't get the Fetish Fuel Wiki admins to respond to this, it's quite possible that we might as well proceed independently. After all, FFW is more of a personal experience wiki anyway, and the pages getting cut here are basically published works and objective analysis (or they would be with a little tweaking). So it's not a bad idea anyway if we were to have to create a whole separate database/wiki site for the stuff that's coming off TVT right now.

Would this wiki only host things cut by TV Tropes? It sounds like its existence would be dependent on this wiki.

I doubt it; because the day such work pages are transferred to FFW, it is not really dependent on This Wiki. Many wikis existed as receptacles of what The Other Wiki no longer including; that does not mean those wikis are dependent on Wikipedia.

The site itself could exist without TV Tropes. I mean that, would the content there be responsive to what's (not) here, a site for "thing not in TV Tropes"?
