Honestly, I don't think you should have assumed that user wanted more rape. If I wrote "Backtracking: The game has some of this, but it's not used as much as it could", would I be asking for more backtracking? Maybe I mean it hasn't have as much as other games of this sort, or it has fast travel measures to help allieviate it. Maybe if I said "unfortunately, it's not used" or "thankfully, it's not used", it would be clear regarding my stance. I know rape is much more depraved and I don't want to imply it's identical to a game pet peeve, but I just needed some example of a trope for something universally considered negative to show this.

Well, the main problem I have is the lurid descriptions of sex acts in the article itself. That is absolutely prohibited.

And there are peeps with fetishes for that sorta thing.

I will agree those are an issue and should be cut/rewritten if the page is kept. Just thought you took an assumption a bit too far there.

Here's what I know about Succubus and Hitman:

1. Seven Seas is publishing it in the US, and they don't appear to be publishing it under the Ghost Ship imprint, which is their adults-only line. For whatever that's worth.

2. I skimmed three chapters of the manga, and they're fucking violent but I didn't see anything I would call pornographic. I didn't see the rape scene(s) that person wouldn't shut up about, but they may be overstating the importance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the contents in any way — I'm well over this "edgier than a greatsword covered in razorblades" crap — I'm just saying it's not Porn Without Plot. and might not even have any porn at all.

Yeah it seemed to be pretty clean on sex front - there was rape as plot device, but it was generally depicted non-explicitly.

But then I hit chapter ten, from which this example is derived

And that one goes ahead and gets quite detailed.

So has a plot and it's mostly super violent but it also happens to have one graphic sex scene. After doing some research it's ongoing and has 17 chapters so far. If the said graphic sex scene was just a one-off thing, I would say it would be ok to keep as long as you don't go into too much detail on the TV Tropes page. However since it hasn't finished, there is the possibility that by the time the series ended, it would've have several graphic sex scenes.

This is just speculation on my part, but I'm not sure if we should cut the work or not.

EDIT: Made a correction regarding the chapter count. It has a prologue that's counted as Chapter 0.

Was going to say we do have other works with graphic rape scenes in manga and anime.

So I don't think that would be a cut reason on it's own assuming the work itself has enough stuff other then that.

Maybe they need to go through here too. The reason we are doing this is ‘cuz of a few Google incidents, and we are trying to prevent any future ones.

IIRC that is not quite the case anymore. Google incidents are no longer a direct threat. Content policy is now running purely on moral stances of the site's administration.

Also a lot of the works that have graphic sex, violent or not, have likely already did come through.

In general, a porn cut (as opposed to a pedo cut, we're stricter there) requires the work's purpose to be all about the porn. If there's more to it, we usually keep it.

And yeah, the days of attacks by Googlezilla are over.

Yeah. If chapter ten was a standalone one-shot, I would chuck it into the porn bin with no question. But as a part of a larger work, proportion comes into play.

Ok, I'm going to give Monster in the Mountain an Angelhead. There's much more plot in it than sex, and the plot isn't meant to be in service to the nsfw aspects. The characters are adults in the story as well.

Judging by the page there are far filthier works on this wiki that are allowed (Oh So Hero comes to mind) so I’m surprised it had to be reviewed here.

Hm, I do not recall that one coming through here so that may need a review as well.

The game is gay furry porn where you can fuck any enemy (or fuck them up) and NPC but it’s also a valid Metroidvania with Beat-Em-Up (no I did not intend that pun) mechanics so it has merits other than pornography.

The link to the game’s download page you mean? Yeah that should be cut. The game itself I think can stay (albeit with an NSFW tag) since it has merits beyond the pornography.

Oh I see. On closer thought this one might lean more towards a cut. I’ve played the demo (don’t judge me) and from memory the game didn’t have much tropable other than the gameplay and some elements of the story. The game does lean more towards the pornographic side than other merits. Perhaps people with more know how on the site’s policies should decide this one.

it's similar to Third Crisis which we talked about before. one of the criteria for a work being cut is that its primary purpose is to titillate. Third Crisis has a plot, gameplay elements, and characterization that could be troped, but its primary purpose is gratification. you can't talk about any of its parts without talking about the porn, because everything else is very obviously in service to the porn. think about Oh So Hero! in that context, and consider whether the porn is the primary purpose or not.

Under that criteria it can probably be kept as the game still puts a lot of emphasis on the gameplay, art, writing, and music. If you took out the pornography it would still be a solidly made Metroidvania Beat-Em-Up, though in its current state, it is built around titillation. Though could you be a bit more clear as it sounds like Third Crisis should be cut based on your description but it appears it’s allowed on the wiki since it’s page is still up and it was discussed before.
