The BDSM stuff is largely irrelevant. The P5 is not supposed to be judging on the type of erotic content, only on its frequency, relevancy and whether or not it's pedo stuff.

Now that I see it in front of me, I'm probably going to be compelled to write "BDMS" from now on. I just can't resist the allure of alphabetical order.
"So... the time has come for you to meet your demise..."It's arranged the way it is for a reason. Check Wikipedia.
BDMS makes me wonder what a BDM is, and how you can have more than one of them. But let's please not derail here.

I've never commented here, but I was surprised to see 50 Shades of Gray had been cut. It's a terrible, terrible book, but it's not porn unless you define porn to include pretty much any romance with BDSM themes. It should have a page, even if it's an example-free one like that for the Story of O.
And if a Bleached Underpants movie is made, they can open it back up.
Yes... albeit reluctantly.

that is just 16% of the book that is sex scenes, quite the minority with 298.5 pages of the book all plot and dialogue.
Amazing how we got from 70% down to 16% in a few short posts.
I suspect most of the rage towards this book was "I don't like it, so I'm not going to look very hard for reasons to keep it". And you're still not looking hard enough.
If you had all been told from the start that it's 16% sex scenes (and is being optioned for a non-porn movie, etc.), rather than having only "bargained down" to 16% when someone actually looked at the book, would it have even been considered for cutting? This should be restored, period.
To be honest, I don't really give a shit what happens to the page. If it gets restored, whatever; if it stays cut, again, whatever. I have no regrets for my disinterest.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Ultimately, that would be the best way to handle any of this nightmare class shit. Stoic up Komodin.

But it's still shittily written sex, isn't it?
I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!Okay, now that we know for certain that it's just plain shitty, as opposed to being shitty porn, we can revive this trashpile and move on to other, (hopefully) more interesting works...

I didn't realize the sex was as little as the actual analysis stated. Anastasia Swann-Cullen must moan a lot for no fucking reason...

So if the consensus on 50 Shades of Grey is that it's not primarily porn or pedo-pandering, are we agreed on a restore with a clean/lock to keep the skeevy parts out of the page?
I asked the opinion of my mother-in-law (who has read the books), and she gave it a green light on the "trashy but not primarily porn" description. She's pretty level-headed, so I trust her judgment on this (plus that saves me from reading it myself, thanks Mom!).
