Finally a ray of hope, maybe now ten years later we'll get a conclusion to Ryo's story.
But I seriously doubt it.
Kickstarter died.
It looks like it's stuck, it keeps switching between a thousand dollars and several thousand dollars.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. So, what are people's opinions about this being a KS as opposed to something like, say, Sony funding it?
I imagine there's a bit of a Broken Base with the financial politics going on.
Hell, I already backed it anyway. No way I'm not gonna be apart of this.
2 Million is nowhere near enough to fund a modern game (especially when the second one cost 70 million). For all we know, Sony or someone else will help out once they've reached their goal.

Like with Bloodstained? Yeah, I can see that.
Speaking of, I can see Shenmue 3 taking Bloodstained's crown of most funded KS VG ever rather easily, and only a short while after that campaign ended. Almost sad, but I doubt IGA and Inti Creates would be torn up over it,
Man, Sony's E3 was crazy.
Looks like they're just about to hit a million.
Just went past a million.
They're gonna back this in a day. I can feel it.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughIf Valve had a surprise Half-Life 3 announcement alongside this, the world would have imploded. Or at least the Internet would have.
And now that I have a job, I could feasibly back this. Are Kickstarter projects available to people who didn't fund the project? (I also want to know this for Yooka-Laylee, Bloodstained, etc.)
What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King SageIt's been what, 3 hours an it's past 1 million dollars. Did Bloodstain pass 1 million that fast?
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Thirst is real, apparently.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYep. It's funded. It's coming. On to Stretch Goals.
I thought one of the stretch goals would be a re-release of the first two games, not just movies. Now I'm worried they're not going to do that at all.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Am I going to pay $120 for a Capsule Figure?
... this may happen. It'd be a lot more likely if it weren't random... if I wound up getting Chai I would probably shoot myself.

Is this a Jo Jo reference?Something I want to ask.
Where does the title "Shenmue" come from?
Also, while I was doing a little digging on the series, I noticed Shenmue 1 covered the first chapter, while Shenmue 2 covered chapters 3, 4, and 5.
What happened to chapter 2?

Chapter 2 was the boat from Japan to China. It wound up being off-screen, but Chai came back, he took a kid hostage, got knocked into the ocean, it was a thing. I think some online comics covered it.

Ok, that's all fine and good, but that has to do with the games' story because...?
Sony is partnering with the game "the whole way"

They mentioned in their FAQ that Sega only gave them the rights to create a third entry; Sega still holds the rights to the first two games. Now, with the success of this Kick Starter, I wouldn't put it past Sony to fund a HD Re-release, or even work with Sega to release the original two on PSN.
Yes. The endgame for these Kickstarters is to get the product a retail (or digital) release.

Seeing as it's (hopefully) getting an HD rerelease, I figured it was time this series got a thread. Hell, even if it's a hoax, this game earned its own topic.
