Is there a release of the feature length film of Galaxy Express 999?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express 999. They came out last summer. Discotek released those as well.

Not Three Laws compliant.Necrobump. Apparently there's gonna be a CGI movie sometime in August or so. It looks really good, to the point that I think we might get a Hollywood dub (rather than a Funimation one). Here's the official site.
Apparently the dub is being set up from the Japanese side. Oblivion Island Haruka And The Magic Mirror did the same and contracted a New York studio to do it. Then Funimation did the DVD/Blu-Ray release.
The same thing is also apparently happening for the Cyborg 009 CGI movie.
Not Three Laws compliant. So the movie is up on Netflix (and other places too, I'm assuming), with the English dub and everything. Haven't watched it yet, though.
I've seen it. It's okay. The animation is fine, and the space battle scenes are exciting, but the movie kind of has a gigantic flaw. The movie verges on Black-and-Black Morality where the rulers of Humanity and Captain Harlock both have done horrible, horrible things with little to no regret. We cheer for Harlock because he's marginally less horrible than the government, but Harlock's plan is actually kind of horrific on its own.
Not Three Laws compliant.I dunno, I liked that part. We weren't really supposed to cheer for Harlock. Sympathize, yes, but you could say the same for Ezra. We don't want Harlock to win, we want Logan to win, to prove that there's an option between a universe being ruled by fascist hypocrites and one that is destroyed outright so that it can start over.
Also, made a page, and a character page. Both need help.
So, is the CGI film any good, besides the morality issues? Those are kind of a given in a Harlock story.
Is he as slap-happy as usual?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Discotek has announced a DVD release of the original Captain Harlock tv series. News is here
I don't really enjoy watching streams, so I'll probably get this along with S'more's release of Galaxy Express 999.
