I like Rose because it's implied that it's just what Blue would turn into if a Saiyan was made into an official God of Destruction, and I'd like to see that happen at some point.

I find it incredibly funny how Mark released a video today on the same exact subject about Vegeta's character in Super after we talked about it yesterday. Clearly he lurks these threads.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.He could be any one of us, hiding
I doubt it, the video probably took at least a few days to make at the very least and it just happened to release at an opportune time.
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"You make it seem like we haven't been talking about these subjects on repeat for years while Super aired.
I kinda do agree with him tho, and I will spoil tag for anyone who hasn't read: Super...relies way too much on reliving past moments, instead of actually giving things emotional depth. It just makes everything feel so vapid...and meh. Like as entertainment, I like it. But as a story and a narrative, it's very lacking.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yeah, that's one thing I've been saying for a long time.
I thought you where referring to this particular instance we had, not the whole thing.
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!""Hey, remember when this character did this thing? Well, how about they do it again!"
I mean, its something I've always felt too, I just kept quiet cuz this thread was a lot more volatile about this stuff when Super was actually airing. I was like "Nope"
I know its fun to take the piss out of it, but it is a common problem writers face...especially when you revive a series that ended conclusively over two decades prior :V

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Honestly even as someone who still kinda really likes Super despite its flaws even I got annoyed by some of the “call backs”. The Final Explosion against Top is the absolute worst to me, like I “love” how they felt need to show clips from Z while everyone’s going “oh no that’s the attack he used against Buu!”
Like, if it had been built up too it could have been a cool, somewhat ironic moment where rather than sacrificing himself after realizing he’s thrown everything away, any bit of a “soul” and any morals he had, he stands by his “pride” to the very end and ends up living. Like it’d still be a blatant call back but like, it’d show development at least.
But like even if it was built up to it still would be just annoying if it was presented the same way of “remember this!” rather then like, letting it be it’s own moment
I’m rambling sorry

I mean, it was built up to. The whole Top fight was an inversion of Vegeta selling his soul to Babidi for power. What with Top throwing away his morals for the power of a God of Destruction and all that.
Only in this case Top throwing away his principles was for a genuinly righteous cause while Vegeta did it only to satisfy his own ego.
So in a sense he has no right to call out Top because the latter is far more principled than he ever was.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That whole fight was so fucking weird; Top is presented as being in the wrong for being willing to sacrifice his principles...to save his entire universe? But we're supposed to side with Vegeta for "sticking to his principles" even despite that he sold out his principles for far pettier reasons in the past?
It just kind of ignores the elephant in the room over for a cheap hype moment. And it didn't have to even be that way. But clearly they had show how Universe 11 was the "bad" universe and much righteous the good guys are.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. What principles did Vegeta even stick to in that fight? What he could have done that he didn't because he was too principled?
I'm assuming its supposed to be his family given they're the focus of his thoughts when he overpowers Top.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It was his PRIDE
Which also makes the Majin Vegeta comparison very silly because Majin Vegeta had a huge stick up his ass about not abandoning his pride

He's proud of his family.
Yeah that’s how I took it. I guess I should have phrased what I said better, Majin Vegeta had the “pride” aspect but I guess it’s more pride in the right things in this case.
That’s actually a really good point, it would have been cool if he had something to throw away, like maybe somehow he has the potential to access the Go D powerup but he forgoes it in favor of winning on his own merits/acquired strength.
But yeah the Top fight was, weird in terms of that, I honestly never got why the Go D power up was inherently “bad”. I may be misremembering (it’s been a while since I’ve watched those eps lol) but like, wasn’t Top training to be a Go D anyway?

I think it was because you're supposed to be morally neutral as a God of Destruction, so it was always going to mandate that Top throw away his morals as a Pride Trooper, but the fact that he did the ascension as a desperation move in the midst of combat just to gain more power was the problem.
Beerus is anything BUT morally neutral tho. Dude has no problem abusing his position for personal gain.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'd say Beerus is Chaotic Neutral. Maybe he was closer to Chaotic Evil at the start of Battle of Gods, but not after all of his character development in Super.
No one really calls attention to this, but Veggie's eyes get...drastically bigger once he becomes..."apart" of the group.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.IF you compare Sayian Saga Vegeta and Super Vegeta faces, they only resemble each other in the broad strokes. Like, you can tell it's the same character but it looks like he's been drawn in two completely different art styles.
Well that's true for everyone; Toriyama's style changed significantly after the Saiyan saga to the look that's pretty wildly recognized.

- Zamasu: Does no one want to talk about Super Saiyan ROOOOOOOSEEEEEE?
- Vegeta: Ugh, what a poser.
