I figured that they could suffer injury in the same manner as in Underworld. Of course, the entire premise of them appearing in SA:O is ridiculous and utterly lacking explanation, so maybe I should just be content with them having fallen out of a plot hole.
Apparently it's going to have nearly 50 episodes. Is the story deep enough to contain that?
From what I get the arc in the LN is longer than the first three combined, so yeah, quite a big pie to eat.

As I understand, in book form it pretty much doubled the book count for the series, so yeah, there's a lot of ground to cover. Hopefully it doesn't drag too much from a lack of pruning. Also kinda worried about matters of production value at that length unless its going to be split into two seasons.
Also, random thought about Mother's Rosario.
Does Kirito still have Excalibur after his Hold the Line battle? I always assumed he and Klein eventually lost, since it was those other players who entered the boss room after the Sleeping Nights' victory, and it had been established that dying in Alfheim means you drop your gear.
...that would be funny as hell and touching if true. I hope it is. Kirito lost the Infinity +1 Sword from an off-screen battle to help a little girl he barely knew.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Unless like, explicitly stated in the LN, I don't think there's even anything to contradict that since as far as I know, Mother's Rosario was the last story set in Alfheim Online? We also don't see him attempt to use it in his rematch with Yuuki if I recall, and I doubt she'd have wanted him to hold back by not using it.
Well, in the GGO book, it says there is a random chance that you'll drop gear, not a certainty. And since GGO is based off the SEED which is based on SAO ans ALO, one assumes it works that way in ALO too.
Tho admittedly it would be funny if he lost Excalibur there.
and we still say SAO is the worst MMO ever made
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!All of them are pretty bad.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Kinda the problem that most of the series was written in the Old Testament, pre-World of Warcraft era of MM Os and the adaptations didn't bother to modernize the more glaringly dated mechanics.
In ALO When a player dies they lose some of their stat progress. The attacker will also receive some of the killed player's items and currency. If a player dies due to a self destruct magic, they will suffer a much greater death penalty than for normal deaths.
In SAO nothing like that has been shown so it is likely these are not an aspect of the Cardinal system. Now players can have their equipment stolen as seen in Progressive Volume 4 when Asuna drops her Chivalric Rapier and its then taken by a Shrewman. She manages to get it back. Now items can be retrieved if lost or stolen so along as certain conditions are met.

Blog - TumblrOn the flip side, if you die in SAO, you die in real life so... Pros and cons.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!On the flip-flip side when somebody propositions you for a fun time on SAO you know the exact age and appearance of the person you're talking to. And you are literally forced to give consent so sexual manipulation is basically off the table.
Kayaba is a man of morals.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I still insist that Chapter... What was it, 16.5? Well, the sex chapter is canon simply because the idea that Kayaba went so far as to program all of that stuff into SAO is just kinda amazing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Well if you plan to trap a bunch a people in a game where they can die one should go the extra mile and ensure that they have all the comforts they need while they are stuck.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaIf Alicization is that long, I feel bad for the detractors who have to put up with it.
Just wondering, is the villain a creepy rapist like Death Gun and Oberon were? Or is that too much of a spoiler?
Edited by Smasher on Sep 12th 2018 at 7:35:45 AM
Well, the first villain is a seductress who is able to manipulate the minds of her targets, and she tolerates the idea of her subjects raping social inferiors as punishment for what they consider offenses against their dignity. Even so, the best description I could give of the Underworld and its inhabitants is, "a world without Original Sin." The denizens of the Underworld are psychologically incapable of willfully breaking any law they are given, and even the Big Bad is psychologically incapable of murder.
I mean, they could simply not watch it. That's an option.
Well, everyone wants to know what people who are known for trashing the series will think of this. This part of the series is said to be the best written part.
She can tho. Is just that she had went so A God I Am that she don't considerate humans as "humans" and thus she can do the act itself.
Said this, she stands out as one of the few Complete Monster with few murders that can claim to be as bad as mass murderers.
Watch me destroying my countryI can't seem to find the quote... what was the max level you could get on floor one of Aincrad? Something like level 10?
That's not what I was asking.
Rephrasing: Based on the resources, monsters etc etc on JUST the first floor, what was the max level you could get before you stopped getting enough exp from monsters to level up?
I THINK it's stated in canon that as you level up, weak monsters give less exp, so eventually you stop leveling.
As I understand wouldn't it just be their AI controlling player characters in the game itself? Plus, Hollow Realization isn't set in a death game, as far as I know, so it's likely even if those were their "bodies", they'd be subject to the same rules as the game.
