"So I know our game got pissed on for being boring and filled with microtransactions. But what if it was more grindy too?"
Jim sarcastically wondering if that's how they plan to turn around the game.

I've seen speculation that Square are now actively trying to kill the game completely. It's already dead in the water, so they probably want to cut their losses and find an excuse to stop supporting it.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Wonder if we’re ever gonna get a good non-Spider-Man Marvel game.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hulk had a fun game didnt he?
Secret SignatureThe Marvel arcade beat'em ups were usually pretty good.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMan they should remaster those games or something.
I’m not sure how to play the Hulk games.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Xmen Wolverine had a good combat system at least.
The Marvel vs. Capcom games are generally considered good. Even Infinite has great gameplay even if everything else about it sucked.
It's been 3000 years…The Captain America game is also alright. It's not a bad Arkham clone, just needed more time to bake.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pretty great given what it was adapting. It's significantly better than the movie, pulling absolutely none of the punches the film did and delivering a brutal and aggressive Wolverine experience with gameplay that makes the player feel exactly like the unstoppable predator that the character's supposed to be.
Also, the effects on Wolverine were amazing, at least for its time. Enemy attacks inflicted realistic damage on Wolverine's character model before slowly knitting back together. It was amazing to watch.
I'll also second that the Captain America: The First Avenger movie tie-in game was a pretty serviceable Batman: Arkham clone. Marvel used to have some solid game development going on before the era of microtransaction/lootbox vehicles ruined AAA forever.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is still one of my favorite Sandbox games ever.
Watch SymphogearIncredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction also inspired the Prototype games, so that's pretty cool.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 and X-Box (the PC-Version.....not so much) was also great. Pretty much the Trope Codifier for modern Spider-Man Games.

SoundCloudSpider-Man is essentially like Batman.
Like sure they have a ton of good or at least big-time developed games but can someone else get a game for once?
I don't know a Black Panther game would be pretty dope.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."An iron man game would be really nice tbh.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."What about War of the Gems on SNES? God, remember when the Infinity thingies were Gems and not...(sigh) stones?
TBF to the "Infinity Stones" name, when one thinks of "Gems" or "Jewels", they tend to think colorful cut rocks (or female-coded aliens ), despite the existence of uncut but still polished gemstones Especially among the "semi-precious" class).
Small Reference Pools at work.
But to get closer to the topic, I'd like to see SE have another go at Avengers, but this time playing closer to their strengths rather then a live service that inevitably failed.
There are a lot of Avengers so a straight RPG about them would be inspired.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Superhero games in general need more RPG attempts. I feel like the only ones that really tried were the Dragonball and Sailor Moon licensed games.
There's also (sort of) X-Men Destiny.
Yes, yes, not a good game, I know, and me liking it is a rather unpopular opinion.
The Marvel's Avengers devs double down on the decision with a post on the official subreddit. The community doesn't seem to be happy.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? That post is hilarious. And the first comment explains it very well.
Dev: We reduced the speed you level up coz you gain skill points so fast you can't get used to the abilities you unlock
I think there's no real way the developers aren't aware of the actual big problems people have with the game, but the availability of resources to properly fix it is another story.
I wouldn't be surprised if the real intention here was to sell xp boost mtx to squeeze a little more money out of this game before it inevitably dies off. We all knew Anthem was dead in the water months before EA made the announcement, Avengers won't be any different.
can't wait for when they hire Make Pence and Milo Yianaopolus
The former could use the money to be honest
EDIT: pagetopper...
