FUCK YES!! RAISER ARC!!!
A tournament arc? Excellent. Shame it's a training episode next week, but eh, bring it on! How would the Rating Game work, though, if it's fifteen to six? Don't tell me Issei will have to fight ALL of Raiser's pawns, or something.
That would make sense, given what we know about how this sort of thing works.
Given that Issei represents all 8 of the President's pawns? I won't be surprised.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuIf Issei does go through that then cool. Wait, what impending rape? D:
So, I finally bothered to watch episode 10.
Dress Break is best attack.
Uh, war battles. They enrich my soul.
Issei's attack is pathetically hilarious. Next we'll see him strip off magical barriers and stuff.
And DAT KONEKO EYECATCH
... You'd think that demons/devils wouldn't be caught with Defeat by Modesty.
And for once, I am actually glad that funimation censored this and sorry I didn't wait for it to come out on hulu. I did not need to see loli nipples.
Anyway, like a good chunk of this kind of anime, if you look past the fanservice, there's actually a pretty good plot going on.
Plus, the way he beat off Yuma/What's-her-face was epic.

final episode got subbed and I must say, I actually like it.
was actually happy to see Sirzechs and Grayfia's perspective of the events instead of Lord Phenex and Lord Gremory's discussion.
I started watchihg this series because I wanted some meaningless entertainment, and the art wasn't too bad either. Then I found that despite everything, I kinda liked most of the characters and how they interacted. Rias in particular, but also Kiba. It's also refreshing that while Issei is too much of a pervert to take seriously, at least that makes up for all the punishment he ends up getting, rather than the standard Accidental Pervert with all the Unprovoked Pervert Payback you see way too much of that just makes you dislike everyone.
I really don't like censoring, as most of the time I just find it annoying and it usually obscures so much more than necessary (I don't mind censoring that only covers what's necessary nearly as much). All it does is breaks immersion. Now, on the other hand, the kind of fanservice I prefer isn't the kind that's censored anyway (it's not anything visual), so it doesn't really add anything to not have censoring. It just detracts to have it. Then again, I don't necessarily see anything sexual with nakedness anyway.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I avoided the FU Nimation subs specifically because of their censors. IMO, all censors are overkill, and I agree on the breaking immersion comment.
I like the conclusion. I hope a season 2 gets green-lit.
Obvious Sequel Hook in the last ep lol
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Well, Sequel Hooks aren't bad, as long as they don't leave critical plots unsolved. If you want a sequel, they do a little work towards that end.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Episode 13 out, along with an announcement for Season 2.
Episode 13 is as expected mostly an excuse for fanservice, but this one is okay in my book because of how funny it is. The episode was basically: boobs are serious business.
Reading the novels... boobs are always serious business
S2 Ep 1: It's back, with all its fanservice.
Looks like we'll learn about Kiba's story; he's a survivor of a project that tried to create people capable of wielding a holy sword. Something similar is probably going on with the girl from Issei's past. Will prolly become a haremette too.
First word of season 2: oppai!!!!....spoilered for the joke, rather than bc anyone will actually be surprised by that
I like that this series is at least honest with it's fanservice, rather than just sneaking in pany shots every 10 seconds using bizarre camera angles while pretending to be serious.
Season 1's opening and ending were better.

so happy this show is back. Looking forward to seeing what kind of other crazy stunts Issei can pull after wrecking Riser
First episode of season 2 is the first thing I saw of this show... and it's a Guilty Pleasure. I didn't expect a series to find a way of making "crass fanservice" fun again, but they did it awesomely.
Also
and he actually sung it! This guy is hilarious!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. This show is still managing to pull of Guilty Pleasure incredibly well. I mean, Issei may be awful, but he's worth it just to hear his voice actor playing against type and clearly loving every minute of it.
And good god, we had the Excalibur song happen. Not what I was expecting at all, that.
Episode 2: Sword Birth is awesome no matter how many times I see it.
Episode 3: Witness Issei's willpower as he devotes every fiber of his being to stripping away girls' clothes. XD
Irina is very entertaining for some reason. She's got a few screws loose, certainly.
Issei's formed an unlikely alliance to hunt down Excaliburs. Heck, Saji (the Student Council's pawn) is involved.
Looks like Issei's summoner is buddy buddy with the other dragon.
Episode 5: Nice fight scenes. Kiba gets a cool new sword, and Xenovia shows off Durendal.
I gotta say, having the battle scenes animated makes me realize how much talking is done in them.
I bet he would pick Issei, because a ridiculous character is usually more fun to voice than an emo one.
