Dude. These games are amazing. Great gameplay, intriguing story, memorable characters, what else could you even ask for in a video game?
I hope Sly 4 doesn't suck.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541I can't wait for the game. Sanzaru were the guys that helped out with the HD collection, and they did great with it. The main team members from the Sly Cooper team from the past 3 games from Sucker Punch are still a part of the main development.

Watch SymphogearI love playing this series on my PS 2. Unfortunately my PS 2 died aces years ago. But anyway my favorite one was three. I especially loved the pirate ship battle parts. I'd sale the seven seas capturing ships and plundering their treasure. Arrrr!!!
"All worlds begin in darkness and all so end. The heart is no different."-AnsemI'm looking forward to Sly 4. As long as they mix it up a bit while staying true to what worked before, they really can't go wrong.
I had my doubts a bit about Sly 4, until i heard the backstory.
Apparently, this game was originally a Sly game, but not an official one. Sanzaru were basically making a fan game, cause they love the series and wanted a new one. Eventually, someone told them they should show it to Sony, and when Sony saw it, they gave them several million dollars, a Ps3 Dev Kit and the official liscence.
This thing is probably the highest profile fan-game I could think to name, ever.
Never played Sly 1. Borrowed 2 and 3 from a friend a few times and loved 'em though. Looking forward to Sly 4, might pick up a copy of the HD collection in the meantime.

Easy street has no parking signs.I Just beat sly 3. I stayed up all night on new years just to beat the game. I loved the pirate battles, but they were hard as fuck, constantly capsising me so easily. I learned the trick was to stay behind and aim at the back of the ships, but it's still really hard.
As well as the fact that there were a lot more ass holery with the villains in the third game than in the previous ones (For the most part). Doctor M is basically Clockwerk mixed with bently (Sorta), Captain Lefwee has a lot of rape-y vibes towards a fricken mouse, and General Tsao is an asshole, period. Though the fight on top the bamboo with him was fricken cool to watch.

Watch SymphogearI've only played the first one, but it has the distinction of being one of the few PS 2 platformers I've played that my best friend and designated "watcher" liked as much as I did. We both loved the style and the characters, and I'd love to play the others.
Also, that story about how the 4th game happened? Awesome.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI'll admit I absolutely hated the stories I heard about "costume changing" being a gameplay element in Sly 4. I mean, changing costumes to gain new abilities? What does that have to do with raccoon thieves?
Than it turns out they're not costumes, but Sly's ancestors. Which is just too awesome.
You could change your costume and wear disguises in the third game, though you used them to sneak in and do things like information gathering.
So, anyone have a particular favorite fight that is not a final boss? (They are special, of course).
I'd say M. Ruby in the first game, Murray's fist fight with Rajan in the second game and, although hard to choose from, I think it's a threeway tie between the sword fight with Captain Lefwee, the fight against General Tsao, and Carmelita vs. Muggshot.

With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill. So did anyone else dislike Carmelita's voice actor for the third game? I thought she tried too hard on the accent.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541I personally dislike the actor for 2. She didn't even bother with the Spanish accent. Everything else about it is pretty good, though.
Now, if only the first game didn't freeze on me after beating Raleigh... *rage*
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I thought she was English
anyway I think the pirate this was such a Scrappy Level it brought the whole game down with it.
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.I enjoyed the Pirate area on the whole, but the boss for it had me snapping my controller in frustration. It's one of the big reasons that I prefer 2 to 3.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.Eh, I didn't really have trouble with Captain Lefwee that much once I figured out his pattern. He became a sinch to me afterwards.
Watch SymphogearMy problem with it was that there seemed to be a slight lag between me pressing the button and the action being performed, and on the lower levels, that meant me dying. A lot.
I guess we could go... wherever we please.Huh, that really didn't happen to me.
Though I felt that Sly 2's climax was the best one in the series so far, Sly 3's is just Slightly weaker.
Watch SymphogearI wonder if my theory that Murry and Jin King will become a couple will turn out to be true.
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.I liked the fight with the big panda guy (forget his name) in the first game (that being the only one I've played). I liked it because there was no goofing around with weird puzzles or odd gimmicks; it was just a straight-up brawl. Also, the only fight I didn't die on once.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaNever played through the full first one, but played through 2 and 3 entirely.
Who else remembers the cross-promotion TOM item? : D
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I don't remember the item, but I do remember Toonami advertising Sly 3.
Easy street has no parking signs.Wasn't there a Toonami plane skin for the dogfighting mission/multiplayer?

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.^^^ Hey! Heeeeey!
Wow, these games are awesome, but I haven't gotten through 2 yet. 3 sounds good and I nearly had a heart attack when 4 was announced.
The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!
I'm surprised there isn't one of these.
Just got the HD collection for christmas. Been playing all 3 games in a row and beat the first 2, with 100% completion already.
