Intersting concept, but it seems too girly for my tastes.
.....but then again I used to think the same about a certain other show
GOH! JII! RAH!Link contains malware.
It does? It's Yahoo, but I guess any site can have malware nowadays.

Exactly my reaction to this news. I'm going to just wait-and-see. Well, at least I'll be gauging the reaction of the internet community. I doubt I'd actually have the courage to go to the cinema for this.
The premise sounds like it could be really interesting, but seeing how it's Disney and the target audience is 2-7 year olds, I'm just guessing it'll be...kindergarten, but with princesses! Best case scenario, of course, is that'll it'll go the route of Friendship is Magic...not the "20-year-old male fanbase" route, but the "present young girls with a story that isn't demeaning and isolated to the approximately three interests that producers seem to think little girls have, but instead offers a variety of relateable and interesting role models" one. Then again, it's Disney and princesses. :/
I imagine it will be similar to Spot, but with princesses instead of puppies.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/And to think disney said they weren't doing princesses anymore.
they never said that. The LA times made that up.
Wonder how long it will take to Welcome her to the internet
Any way looks cute I might check her out

With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill.Well, the character design is cute. I'll need to see the actual show itself before judging that, though the concept alone sounds like it's basically just "Kid gets new stepfamily BUT BECOMES A PRINCESS!"
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaAfter reading "Cinderella Ate My Daughter" by Peggy Orenstein, this just sets off all kinds of bells. Is it so hard to make a female main character who isn't a bloody princess?
I've returned from the depths to continue politely irritating the good people of TV Tropes.(◕‿◕✿)She's adorable I think. Though her dress should be a different color...she's the 4th princess to done a light blue outfit(cinderella, Jasmine and Tiana being the previous ones).
Here's hoping we get something at least as good as MLP:Fi M, but I'm not holding my breath...
At least it has a female protagonist. As long as it's not sickeningly sweet, I'll see about it, therefore.
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioNot to put too fine a point on it, but Tiana's "canon" (if that word applies to the Disney Princesses, anyway, the one they use for all the merch, meet-and-greets, etc.) dress is the lily-pad themed one from the end of the movie.
Also, Jasmine's outfit is turquoise, and Sofia's up there is sort of purple-y. I'll give you Cinderella (even though her dress in the movie is white. Why they changed that is beyond me) since I took Tiana out of the movie context myself.
Hmmm you're right. Still I would've preferred another color.
This is being promoted heavily on Disney Junior currently. There will be no cinema. This is direct to the TV network and then they'll be launching a TV show based on it.
Actually, the premise isn't that bad. A poor little girl becomes a princess by virtue of her mother marrying the king. Mixed families weren't common in Disney (at least not until Phineas and Ferb.) Plus there's the Evil Chancellor/Bad Wizard subplot. While I doubt this will be in MLP:FIM territory, there's potential. As with any story, it all depends on the writing.
Well, the plot at least makes sense. I don't like the animation, though, it seems a bit cheap.
i do sincerely hope that this does not get a large 20-year old single male viewer base, with ponies it's okay because, well they really don't seems to have an age and they're ponies, but with a little girl as a main character that might get really bad really quickly.
Anyway, looks cute, plot seems okay, I don't really watch little kid shows but I might watch just the first episode.
All our wishes can come trueWait, Sofia is supposed to be Hispanic? And some people are angry about it? [1]
As a Hispanic myself, I say: big deal. It's nice that they touch on the ethnicity of the characters, but focus on doing good stories.
Haven't people been wanting a Hispanic princess?
Looking for some stories?Well, her Hispanic whatchacallit is Informed Ethnicity at the moment. She's white as friggin...Idunno. Snow White.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I'll say. I wouldn't have said she was Hispanic.
Looking for some stories? That's not to say there aren't any Hispanics that don't fit the stereotype phenotype.
i. hear. a. sound.

This actually looks like an interesting concept, for little kids in general. I may actually be seeing my youngest niece watching this once it comes out.
