It's cool that Reed actually accomplished something. Well with Gear captured (I think) it looks like the Gear arc is on hold. I'm guessing she's definitely gonna break out or something but this will give the comic a chance to slow down and deal with the whole Steffi-Ben thing, and whether or not Steffi is gonna keep being a superhero. What with the way Cube writes I actually wouldn't be surprised if she quit, but got pulled back in due to some major crisis.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I am reviving this thread because shit just got real. looks like someone's gonna need a robotic arm.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Yeah, sure, the last few strips had me expecting that Steffi would lose her leg in some kind of assassination attempt. But I was not expecting that she'd lose it taking a bullet for her dad.
Respect.
I don't get why she would lose her whole leg from just a bullet wound though. Even if they decided to amputate, shouldn't they have cut it below the knee?
It makes me think that maybe society has gotten so reliant on cybernetics that they thought "Hm, leg is damaged, could take a lot of surgery and physical therapy to fix, nah, let's just hack it off and give her a robot leg. Robot legs are awesome!" Would be an interesting bit of social commentary, cause I could totally see it getting like that irl 40 or 50 years down the line.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I totally thought Reed was gonna say something like "You're selfish in the right way."
Now we're at the end of Track 10, anyone have a prediction what's coming next, both for the Sound Byte and the next Track?
Sound Byte: It would be cool to see a Gear Sound Byte, get some more perspective on that crazy girl, but I doubt it will happen. I think it's more likely there will be another Reed focused Byte, probably with an Ironic Echo callback to his earlier one, about why he wanted to be a cop.
Track 11: Its kind of hard to predict. Things seem mostly squared away with Ben and Steffi, and since this Track was completely devoid of action, I doubt there'll be another downtime episode. Either Gear will show up again, or we'll begin a new story arc, with Gear's return being saved for later. I'm guessing the next Track might focus on 42 a little...
Oh, but I just remembered: Steffi still needs to get back Kiwibot, which is currently in Raccoon's possession. I think perhaps her tendencies might get the best of her, and she might try and keep it. Blitz vs Raccoon, Round 2!
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.New character get! It looks like a Japanese robot arc is a coming up. Awesome, that means we'll get new villains.
Prediction 1: Sango is evil (easy mode prediction, just look at her villainous face).
Prediction 2: Ben takes a more direct role, now that Steffi has been hurt he will want to actually be out there to help her (not too likely but I'd like to see it happen).
Prediction 3: The Kiwibot will get an upgrade, since it is being repaired anyway (Mid-Season Upgrade).
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Personally I'm partial to "But swords!"
Hey, it's nice to see this thread updated by someone who isn't me. Apparently I was right about Prediction Number 3 there, since Kiwi Bot is about to get upgraded. I'd forgotten I even mentioned that.
The backgrounds for the past ten pages or so have been amazing. They make me wonder where exactly these people are though. With woods like that it seems like they're not in the big city anymore. Did Steffi and Heinrich relocate to some backwoods lab to fix up the Kiwi in secret or something? Maybe they're just near a big park. Going back and rereading this Track, it looks like 35 specifically came looking for 39, whoever she is. I don't get how this plot fits together yet, but it looks pretty interesting.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Awesome, Reed is back. I didn't expect to see him again so soon, though I'd hoped too. Mary has clearly gotten much better at drawing adults.
It's pretty cute how uncharacteristically awkward and apologetic Steffi is to him.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Tangentially related: Mary Cagle is doing drunken sketch requests and she took mine!
She drew that in like 15 minutes while drunk. She's a damn good artist.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Just binged. This comic is delightful.
(except Gear. Girl is bonkers.)

Oh hey, I didn't think this thread was ever gonna revive.
Glad to see another fan, this comic is woefully unrecognized.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I follow it too, though it's a little hard. It's definitely Better on DVD.
Wow, that background looks great. I guess that's why it took so long to get posted.
Cube has gotten much better with her lighting lately.
I'm looking forward to seeing this creepy snake guy.
EDIT: People in the comments are wondering how the kids are gonna get in. I figured they just bribe their way in; Steffi's loaded with cash. And I get the feeling Ben doesn't come from a middle class family either.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Mo' like ''hack'' their way in. With 42's superhuman hacking attribute.
(but seriously, a guy doesn't get devil horns because he's a guy you can mess around with)
Them's some beefy arms that devil guy has.
Ironic that the robot is the one urging them to act normal.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Mix your nerdery. It's not enough to dress up like a dog, you gotta be a dapper steampunk dog.
It must be somewhat difficult to get drunk in those masks.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Featuring the continued adventures of Furries.

New Page. I'm a little disappointed they got away from Gear so easily, but it looks like we're wrapping this chapter up. Always nice to see comics taking wounds seriously.
