Well, they mean practically the same thing but Performance Anxiety sounds broader. I could have Performance Anxiety before a final exam, but if I was giving a public lecture the sensation I'd feel could be described as Stage Fright and/or Performance Anxiety.
It seems like just renaming for the sake of renaming, so I'm not 100% on board yet.
[The rest was unintelligible.]I like the idea that the trope name is the broader category — in fact, that was why I chose the name that I gave it when I created the trope. If the consensus goes away from that, then I guess that I can't really do anything about it, but I don't think that renaming it is all that necessary. If anything, I think that making sure all incoming and outgoing links match up is a good start to making sure that the trope is more noticed. I haven't really checked that in a while, so maybe that needs doing.
They're both widely-used common terms outside of the wiki. I personally doubt that it's the name that's causing the low number of inbounds, since we have Stage Fright as a redirect.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I wouldn't use the term "stage fright" unless there was an actual stage involved, and the trope seems to be broader than that.
So I don't think a swap is going to help.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Then why is the trope performing so poorly?
Who knows?
At a guess, because it doesn't come up a lot in the media that we get the heaviest activity on: anime and video games.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Well, I've been working on making sure more wicks come in to this page. I've only added 5 or so, but I've added all of the examples up through the end of the literature section to the work page. I'm really not sure why the trope isn't thriving better — my guess would be that the trope simply isn't known or noticed enough yet.
I need to dig out my copy of Little Town On The Prairie and On The Shores Of Silver Lake. I'm pretty sure that there's an example in one or the other (or both !) of those. And one in Anne Of Green Gables, as well.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.This seems like it would be more popular with the Slice of Life shows aimed at kids, since it seems like a Stock Aesop or something that they deal with.
Fight smart, not fair.Deboss: That's probably the case, I just don't follow any kids' shows other than MLP, so I can't really add anything to that (was there a case in there that I forgot? Maybe something with Rainbow Dash?), but that would probably be a pretty common place to find it.
I finished adding all the examples to the works pages, at some point I need to add the wicks to this page. I think that the problem is really that the trope isn't well enough known in the sense that most people don't realize that we have it, not that no one knows what it is.
Me either. I don't have an issue with shows aimed at kids, I just prefer action and comedy, rather then Slice of Life. Not being familiar with the current My Little Pony series, I wouldn't know.
Fight smart, not fair.Yes, there was an example in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S1 E16 "Sonic Rainboom".
Rhymes with "Protracted."Well heck, just putting it on the Fi M page would probably get this trope some good publicity
[The rest was unintelligible.]I think part of the reason for the low inbounds is that while this is certainly a trope, it's not one that people need to link here to explain. Most of the time when people are looking for information about Performance Anxiety and Stage Fright they're going to go to The Other Wiki. Most people aren't going to go looking for it's appearances in media.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSounds about right.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdAre we done here? Can this be locked?
I didn't write any of that.
Performance Anxiety. Brought 3 people to the wiki, measly number of wicks.
Why not just swap with Stage Fright? This is a really common trope; it shouldn't be languishing like this.
