[up] "Sir, Sir! We have just had one of our fighter jets stolen!"

"What? A terrorist attack? How many—?-!"

"Actually, Sir, it was only a single boy in a tacky smelly sweater!"

"...!"

[up][up] Tacky security and someone left the keys in. It's not so hard.

But yeah, I'd like to see how his parents reacts. Both to him coming home, and him telling them he wants to live in another world. And that he's got his own mansion there. Fun times will be had.

@Ever 9: Isn't that what the entire seasons has been about, when the plot wasn't going on?

Is it that hard to imagine how Saito stole a military jet?

Saito: Look out! A UFO!
Random guard: Haha, I'm not going to -
Saito knees the guard in the stomach and steals his gun. Gandalf skills activate, and he successfully incapacitates anyone in his path with sharp-shooting, stealing new guns when needed. He then enters a fighter jet and manages to hot-wire it. What? It is Gandalf.

It's Japan, military personnel there I guess is lacking.

Anyway, all the girls were crying inside at the wedding. How nice

[up]That's the worst part of tying a harem situation up. If you don't bother to give the other haremettes romantic alternatives, you end up displeasing their fans.

And considering how Louise was actually the most disliked of them all...

[up]Really? I liked Louise better than Siesta or whore queen. Elf tits was ok because she had tits.

Well, Louise might be the one the most people vocally dislike, but there are also a ton of people who do like her.

Personally I tend to judge people after how the story and world actually works, and not by our standards here in the real world. The main thing it affects here is probably the violence that's meant to be comedic. Or rather, if I do judge it by our standards, I try to translate the events into what would actually be realistic.

In other words, I view Louise's harsh punishments as less harsh, considering that they don't actually have the same effect they would if done exactly like that IRL. Still bad, but not on the same level as it would be otherwise.

As for which characters I like, I think Louise was at least interesting, unlike Siesta or Tiffa. Or Henrietta. Or Tabitha. Kirche was a little interesting, but she did rather quickly get a romantic alternative. I did like Sylphid, though. She's one of those characters who's hard to dislike, at least for me. And Guiche. He was surprisingly amusing and sympathetic.

My favourite bit in all the series is actually when Louise realizes that Henrietta likes Saito to and that she can't pull rank to get her way. They could have done some great stuff with that.

I like Tabitha also. She's cool. (no pun intended) Kirche is great, Tiffa is a void of personaliy. Siesta was mildly interesting at first but they dropped that rather quickly.

[up][up][up][up][up] Because they lost the harem battle to Louise?

[up][up] As one fan said, "I don't usually like cold and stoic girls, but there is something about Tabitha that is so Moe Moe I can't resist."

How about Tabitha basically telling Louise in a calm but cold manner to make up her mind or else face the risk of losing Saito to the future queen of Gallia?

I actually tend to like Sugar and Ice personalities in characters. Or Sugar and Fire. Goes IRL as well, as I tend to be good at getting through them (male and female). Also, ice tends to be my favourite element. However, Tabitha just feels emotionless for emotionless' sake. Even more so than early Nagato. It feels more like she just lacks a personality than being stoic. Sure, she's got her moments, everyone has, but it's not enough. Not even nearly. I think she was better in one of the earlier seasons, though, but here it was just off. The by far best aspect of her is her familiar.

That was actually a pretty awesome, if flawed, finale, considering the rest of the season wasn't really that great (though they were somewhat enjoyable). I just wish the fight with the dragon was longer. Or the stuff about Brimir and Gandalfr and so on longer. Hell, I could've settled for more of psycho king Joshua, or the Elemental Siblings! Basically, I wanted the show to delve deeper into the lore of their world. Could've been interesting despite their doomsday scenario being a boring ol' dragon.

I just don't like the romance part at all. It never really gets interesting, and to make it worse Saito's set on my least favorite girl: Louise, who manages to be unlikeable even when compared to the likes of Siesta and Tabitha and Tiffa. Could've used more of Lukshana and the Rhyme Dragon girl.

Anyway, enough griping. Again, the finale was pretty awesome, and I actually cheered when Saito did the kiss of empowerment. Brilliant scene, especially with that song in the background (the first season OP if I remember correctly?). And the epilogue is darn interesting. I'd love to see Louise meet Saito's parents! So many ways to milk that for hilarity.

P.S. Also, Henrietta in armor cracked me up. Same reaction for Siesta ready to fend off dragons with a frying pan. And best of all, Derflinger is alive! Woohoo.

It's really strange when the anime covers the ending and final arc straight from the LNs, and yet left dozens of other arcs severly compressed, ignored or fused with another.

I just OD'd on this series in the course of about a week. Yikes.

I was really expecting the pope to be a bad guy, considering how the elves were talking about the Demon Brimir. I guess I'm used to evil corrupt churches.

My question though: Why didn't they just portal all the void mages to Saito's world? That way, it would fly into space to pursue them and take billions of years to get there. Worst case scenario, it somehow DOES show up on earth and gets nuked.

As for your question: Thinking smart and out of the box in the Tsukaima animeverse? HA HA HA HA.

So, how much different was the anime from the novels? What about from the manga?

Should I bother pursuing other forms of media? I liked this series. Just about the right amount of fanservice too :P

Well okay, maybe a bit too much.

I'm reading through the light novels now, although my pace is slow due to scarce free time. I find them to be overall better than the anime, apart from the anime designs being better than the novels' illustrations.

Don't know about the manga but there's a lot of difference between the anime and light novels. the anime's first season was fairly faithful but as the seasons went on there was a lot of decay; changes that ranged from minor like Guiche not getting Put on a Bus and having some purpose during season 2's events and major stuff like Wardes surviving and Forquet escaping prison.
