"Good Riddance" along with Vitamin C's "Graduation Song" and "Pomp & Circumstance" are songs the play AD NAUSEAM at graduations (the latter more characteristic of Uni grads though).
Seriously. I remember the Grade School graduation had Old School Yard, which I found pleasantly surprising. The 10th Grade Farewell had Day After Day (The Show Must Go On) by The Alan Parsons Project playing, which I found incredibly somber. But otherwise, it was repeats of Good Riddance and Graduation Song.
Blergh, I was sick of it by the end.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceSo Green Day had an appearance scheduled recently at a festival, but since Billy Joe is in rehab, they got Metallica to replace them. Wow.
And some ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! songs will be featured in a few soundtracks, an episode of CSI New York, and *sigh* Breaking Dawn.
I'm really digging Dos.
Oooo, how is it?
By the way, went to American Idiot: The Musical on Saturday. Absoloutely brilliant, and I got a lot of autographs.
And to think that at my graduation, we sang The River by Garth Brooks.
I do like Fuck Time and Lady Cobra. It's got a raw sound, a bit of Word Salad Lyrics.
Speaking of Lady Cobra, you know that one song on the album that features a rapper by that name ("Nightlife")? I decided to look her up after hearing the song, and I found that this is the kind of music she and her band usually make:
...Still better than "Stupid Hoe".
She gets points for not copying the Gaga/Kerli look. Not many though.

To be fair, I think this song pre-dates all of that, though I can't remember the upload or copyright date for it or the video.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I haven't heard anything from Dos yet, but off Uno! I think my favorite is Carpe Diem.
Is Billie Joe out of rehab yet?
My PM box is always open to anyone who wants to talk/vent.As far as I know, no. My friend and I were getting tickets to see them in January, but they cancelled and delayed their tour dates because of that.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. So I finally found a copy of Warning (for only $5 brand-new, no less), and so far, my suspicions about the album seem to be well-founded... that I'd love it. How this is one of their lowest-selling albums (it still hasn't gone platinum as of this writing), I'll never know, because it's one of their most brilliant.
I wanna be the Minority, I don't need your Authority, Down with the Moral Majority, 'Cause I wanna be the Minority.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! That song annoys me to no end.
*shrug* I dunno, I love that song, mostly due to how folky it sounds and how catchy it is.
Besides, if you can't appreciate a folk rock sticking-it to-the-man song by a pop punk band that mostly does Who-esque power pop a lot of the time, what can you like?

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Tre was okay until I heard Mike Dirnt doing lead vocals on Sex, Drugs, and Violence. No, Big "NO!"!
I did not know this even existed until a couple of days ago: Green Day apparently did an entire demo version of Dookie. It's a very interesting listen IMO, and it makes me think that it would've sounded close to this if it were released on Lookout instead of Reprise.

Did I mention I got tickets to Green Day's London show for Christmas? Balcony seats in a Stadium, but my second concert ever. Gonna be missing the last day of school for it.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I was supposed to go to a show of theirs about a month ago, but stuff got screwed up and I ended up missing it while my friend went to two shows of theirs within the same week.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. Also, the concert I'm going to is being opened by the Kaiser Chiefs and All Time Low.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!I like Green Day's stuff too, but I seem to like them better when thy're angry. My favourites by them are F.O.D, Platypus (I Hate You) and Let Yourself Go
A quote from a work that I like, summing up my personalityA coworker of mine thinks they peaked at Dookie (I remember one time I was listening to it at work and as soon as she heard it she just completely froze until whatever song was on was over and then started nostalgiagasming) and absolutely refuses to listen to anything from American Idiot onward. She does love "Platypus (I Hate You)" though.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. She might be surprised when the trailers for the American Idiot movie start showing up.

Sheesh, they're still using that for graduations? I think when I had it played at mine it had only been put out as a single a couple years earlier. I think the misinterpretation that it's about nostalgia may have started with the Seinfeld montage set to it that they'd sometimes air when the song was still just getting really popular.
