Not so far, but there appear to be some in the OP and PVs. Though by no means do I expect it to be describable as a mecha show. More of an Anime Kitchen Sink

Also; what's wrong with Guilty Crown?

... There's way too many characters in this for me to be able to care about anyone.

Here's hoping that 90% of the cast gets killed.

[up] I was expecting something like that would happen. It would be at the same trolling level Gen Urobuchi did with Madoka.

I wouldn't mind it if the Fukuyama-voiced dude was the first to bite the dust.

[up]But he's the hero. Maybe something along the lines of "betraying everyone for horizon" where he himself killed all the ones on the first episode.

Based on the first episode I see this show going the Ore Tachi Ni Tsubasa Wa Nai route, I mean it has lots of confusing stuff and a potentially good story, but I think the comedy will end up being it's only strong point. Watching it was lots of fun, though.

[up][up]I wouldn't go to the extent of wishing him to get kill, but I don't like him as the main hero. I mean, I like perverted characters but they are not fit to be main characters, especially not on this show. Also, that kick at end was one of the most satisfying things I've seen in an anime.

I hope it just ends though. What I mean is that they don't give it an anime original ending. That would be all kinds of bad. The Light Novel's not even close to hitting full stride yet, so leaving the ending hanging would be the best way if they want to milk it longer.

I've heard that they've already planned for a second season in 2012.

I just watched the first episode. It's kinda like Shangri-La with more stereotyped characters.

And on that note... [sigh] I guess one character with Gag Boobs isn't enough anymore. Pretty blatant Yuri stuff straight up too, so at least this show is honest.

I feel what I saw wasn't the best introduction to the series, but I think it's told me all I need to know.

This show should be watchable, provided it doesn't lose it's energy, or try having a complex plot (but it probably will).

Also, the action scenes as per usual go beyond Talking Is a Free Action, and everyone is has their own time, and there is no hope of figuring out actual reaction speeds for any particular scene.

I guess I'll watch the second episode, but I think it will hurt.

[up]I hope you watched [Horrible/TAN], because they have the official subs. [Commie] ended up making a bunch of things and glossed over several more.

Episode 2 just aired and showed just how Alpha Tori really is. Hell yeah, one of those enjoyable Fukuyama Jun roles.

I could only hear Yuki when that Minori Chihara character was singing.

The fight scene was well paced, but shoving all the exposition into the last two minutes wasn't very skillful of them.

Honestly thought Toori was going to answer "masturbating" but then he didn't and I felt kind of let down.

But I pretty much agree with the sentiment that so far it's "It's so bad yet I want to watch more".

The annoying stuff I found today was that, there are actually web-only videos being aired that serves as supplementary materials, explaining how the magic works and whatnot. Its unlikely anyone will actually sub those, which is what's annoying. Here are a bunch of stuff I lifted from /m/.

...Now, the fact is they aren't taking the "recreating history" as seriously as they could have. As an example they are not exactly using old school technology in day to day life. But one has to wonder if there is a certain religious fervour about it, rather than logic...

In essence, humanity lost a lot of their technology, and they believed religiously that by following the Holy Book that contained old history, they would be able to retrace the path of their ancestors and reach Enlightenment*TM.

Now, things went pear shaped when the re-enactment of the European 30 year war went out of hand, and everyone left were forced to migrate to Japan as the last place hospitable. In essence Japan was forcefully occupied.

Haiki: There are to basic types, internal and external. Internal is, well, one's own internal energy. External is granted from the gods for demonstrations of religions faith, such as Tomo's agreement to perform different offerings/rituals for Hanami.

  • Q: Ok, so those small shots fired by the angels were the internal ones? How is that replenished?
  • A: Sounds like they bought them with money from the merchant dude. And the merchant dude got them from HIS deity.

Oh, stop chickening out. I don't care what subs are which so long as they are readable and make sense.

I thought ANN had the subs available only hours after the episode airs?

So, bad subs + long winded, complicated expospeak = greatly reduced enjoyability.

If anyone a link to an alternative, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Just watched it. Though the bad subs made things a bit dificult, I think I understood most of what hapened I just have a few things to say:

  • Are they actualy trying to keep the back story completely serious?
  • The teacher is deffinately the best character
  • The student president gets to decide the school punishments. I wonder what other things are writen in that book...
  • Quoth myself: "Excuse me, but WTF DID I JUST WATCH?!"

I'll give it one more chance before I drop it.

  • First episode: introduse main cast
  • Second episode: history of the world
  • Third: Hoping that we get the plot. My decision will depend on what that plot is. (hoping it involves fighting more than talking, a number of the characters are anoying/not that interesting to me.)
