I had impression that Alex didn't said servants have only one phantasm by default, but have only one as they are mostly known only for having one.
I am not sure if I make sense here...
Just saw a 10 minute video for something called fate prototype. I can't figure out if I have just seen a trailer or the entire thing.
Comsidering that Fate/Prototype is essentially all the unused ideas for the original series, I wouldn't be surprised if they make some sort of OVA for it, though don't expect it to be very long.
As a side note: i was reflecting over Fate/zero and I began to ask myself, if i wasn't for the immense success of Madoka Magica, would the anime of Fate/Zero have been as highly anticipated considering that Gen Urobuchi wrote both works?
Are you kidding? Fate Zero was released in 2007 and already had a large fandom from the fans of the Nasuverse. Kara No Kyoukai's success also guarantees that there would be a load of fanfare if ufotable animates it. Even if Gen didn't make Madoka Magica, Fate Zero would still be highly anticipated.
MAL || vndb || BlogGo watch Carnival Phantasm 9 now and see Grail-kun!
Cannot. Stop. Laughing.
I've cheated and seen the raws. It gets better.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Madoka was highly anticipated because Gen was already famous among the VN fanbase. Fate Zero (the novel) was highly anticipated because of Gen too. His popularity is quite a bit older than people think, it's just that most of his stuff wasn't translated back when he started.
Who knew that a kitchen knife can solve all your problems.

What kitchen knife, all I saw was the Friendmaker...
Just hopping in the middle of thread without reading it with a question:
As a F/SN fan, who didn't read the Fate/Zero Light novel yet, nor saw the Anime, and planning to do both, what would you recommend as better?
First read the Novel and then watch Anime, or Anime first and the Novel later?

Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder.I would always say novel first. That said, I didn't, and just watched the anime.
Read all of my fanfics! If you read the novel first you'll spend the anime noticing things that were cut out. If you watch the anime first you'll find a lot of new things that add to the story.
Just remember the anime is not finished yet. "Watching the anime first" also means waiting a few months to finish the story.
Two questions about the Fourth Grail War. First, was it ever mentioned that Assassin could regenerate his bodies, or was each one gone for good when it died?
Second, how did the Masters supply their Servants with mana? The only options I'm aware of are sex and Body Horror. What's option three?
What's precedent ever done for us?Each Assassin is a different entity on its own. If one die, it is lost forever. I believe this is mentioned even in the anime.
The Servant-Master contract establishes a link which allow mana sharing. For the 4th War, Kayneh and Lancer are exceptions, as Lancer has two masters. Shirou in Fate Stay Night is also an exception because he just suck that much at being a magus.
Option 3 is the usual option. Its just a constant leech from the Master. The mana transfer, meaning here "sex", is only needed when the servant is dangerously low on mana and the master is weak or unable to provide much energy.
Read all of my fanfics!Ah, right. So if you aren't an incompetent idiot (hi, Shirou), the transference just takes care of itself automatically.
As for Assassin... Servants have a Healing Factor, right? Now, I seem to recall that his division schtick consists of splitting himself down into several dozen weaker copies, like a really exaggerated version of Detachment Combat. So if one gets killed, he can't get it back, but the remainder are slightly stronger once he's healed his 'wound'. That about right?
Raises some interesting implications if every body but one died, seeing as his wish was to become whole again.
What's precedent ever done for us?The healing factor actually comes from the master. They need the master's mana.
Read all of my fanfics!Wait... you were assuming that every single master was having sex with every single servant until just now?* That's kinda weird.
Sex is the "crude" way of doing it based on the ancient theory that semen equals mana (that's a real theory!) and is only applicable when the mage has no control of their mana.

No, I found it highly unlikely (though I'm sure the shippers were drooling over the prospect). That was why I assumed there was another method I didn't know about.
What's precedent ever done for us?I do recall a good FSN Magus resorting to sex for a mana transfer/crest transplant.
If you mean Matou Family, it isn't about mana, but to completely alter magic circuit of person in question.

Actually I was talking about Rin but I also understand even with Tohsaka's help it's linda the simplest supply solution they settled on in HF.
I remember that Perseus has the most noble phantasms I think, with about six. Not counting gilgy of course.
