[up]Out of those, though, I'd only characterize Bad Blood and Dear Future Husband as "truly awful" like he says in the tweet. Stitches and Fight Song are just really bland. I'm not sure what the problem is with Elastic Heart other than not being able to understand what Sia's saying.

Other than those two, I can think of Marvin Gaye and Watch Me off the top of my head as examples of really awful 2015 songs, and I'm fairly sure Todd has said similar things about them.

[up]He has done a review of “Watch Me.” I fully expect it to be bottom of his Worst List.

He also called "Let's Marvin Gaye and Get it On" one of the worst pop moments of 2015 IIRC. I think he might give "Watch Me" a slight pass just because of it being a "rap-dance song" which isn't too concerned about quality, just like he did with Teach Me how to Dougie whichever year that was. It'll probably be on the list, but I don't think it'll be #1. I think it's more likely to be Marvin Gaye, Dear Future Husband, or maybe one of those Chris Brown songs that made the year-end Hot 100.

I have a feeling that "Fight Song" will be on the list. It's a weaker, more vacant attempt at a pump up anthem than "Roar", and remember how much he hated "Roar". I also think he once mentioned on Twitter that he would nominate Rachel Platten for "worst new artist" of the year.

Not only that, but it's looking to be pretty high on the list as well. But who knows? I'm probably just as bad at making predictions as he is.

Am I just out of the loop? I don't think I've even heard "Fight Song" a single time, even in snippets, in the past year.

I heard it a lot, so maybe it's a regional thing. Think I heard it in a couple commercials too.

Where I am, it didn't really receive all that much airplay on pop stations during its peak. Most of its presence was on hot AC radio, probably because pop didn't have much room for "empowerment" ballads at the time. But it did very well digitally; apparently it was the eleventh best-selling song last year.

For me, it was the most annoyingly inescapable song of the year.

From the few time I listened to the local pop stations this year I definitely heard that song more than once. I also heard it in a commercial recently.

It was everywhere on this end. It was even on WWE's anti-cancer video, which was something.

I haven’t heard it either. The only “inescapable” song for me this year was “Hello.”

I swear, every time I hear someone quote "Hello", my first thought is this song because they always quote just the first two lines:

To me it would be Lionel Richie's "Hello", even if it is due to some terrible school talent show memories.

Yesterday when I was in the car at one point "Hello" was simultaneously playing on all four major local pop stations. I guess it's time to welcome our new Adele overlord.

BTW, since the Top 10 Worst list should be here soon, I'll post my predictions: "Dear Future Husband", "Only", "Nasty Freestyle", "Same Old Love", "Watch Me", "Hit the Quan", "Girl Crush", "Marvin Gaye", "Worth It", & "Fight Song".

I completely forgot about "Nasty Freestyle." That song was actually in the top ten for a few weeks, and the year-end chart ranks it at #50. It only really achieved popularity through streaming—I believe it was popular on Vine at one point (but not to the extent of "Trap Queen" and "Watch Me")?

I'd expect to see "Post to Be" somewhere as well. It was basically the "Loyal" of 2015.

"Watch Me" and "Dear Future Husband" are pretty torturous, but then there's that one song Silento was also on with Dain or whoever he is that was arguably worse but its title has slipped my mind for some reason. Also, special mention to Rae Sremmurd just being really annoying over some surprisingly interesting production and Tyga and Chris Brown for being both boring and reprehensible in equal measure.

What exactly was bad about Dear Future Husband? I've heard it a couple times on the radio, and I thought some of the musical elements were alright enough, but I never really payed attention to the lyrics.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Setting aside the fact that the music is the embodied ossification of Trainor's schtick, which while not awful is awfully whitebread—although not so horrendously so as on "Marvin Gaye", which I forgot to mention—the lyrics are stunningly regressive, abrasive, narcissistic, and all around devoid of self-awareness.

Well with a title like Dear Future Husband, I'm gonna assume it's a double standard song.

Personally I kind of like that style of music (though I like things that sound like they're from the 50s, 60s, or 70s), but that's just me. Though lyrically speaking, I wonder if Todd has said anything about songs like Brown Sugar (which, let me state for the record, is about slave rape).

And I never knew there was a song called Marvin Gaye. I now hate it.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
