New strip up. Hmm. I suspect that she's just sacrificed her Unspoken Plan Guarantee...
= Spindriver =But you have to get your Pre-Asskicking One-Liner in there somewhere.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Skybreakers and Teen Titans Go! (unless he gets pressured to change what Vale is watching).
I like how Vale was able to sneak that joke in when Deus didn't see it coming.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.New strip. Given that this set of opponents are the first to put her shields under detectable stress, I can't help thinking that Sydney is pushing her luck rather a lot.
= Spindriver =Because pushing envelopes to their breaking point is what she's all about?
Trump delenda estI know she's mostly just saying all this for humor value, but, uh, Sydney, you're out of your jurisdiction.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.David and Goliath, and suicidal overconfidence
I was listening to a Ramsey Dewey podcast recently and he pointed out that the David and Goliath story is less about "plucky underdog" and more about using superior technology and bending the rules to win. Of course David had the advantage when he was using a ranged weapon he was highly skilled out while outside of the range of his melee-based opponent.
Yeah, a lot of old fables have kind of odd aesops when there's a much more obvious one. Like the tortoise and the hare isn't so much about "slow and steady wins the race" as it is "don't take a break in the middle of a race."
Though there's a video out there of a tortoise and a hare racing in real life, and the tortoise really did win because the hare just kinda faffed off.
My pet theory is that the fight was actually an encounter between a group of slingers and a group of heavy infantry and that "David" and Goliath" were the leaders of said groups.
Trump delenda est{nods} Although, I'm more amused of thinking of it like that one fight in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Goliath steps out to have a nice honorable fight and David just shoots him.
When you think about it that's exactly what the biblical version amounted to

Trump delenda estNew strip. Technically SFW, despite bucket-loads of over-the-very-large-top Fanservice, because apron, panties, and crop top, but follow link with caution. But I confess that I'm amused.

Sure you are Anvil.
Trump delenda estAchilles' answer is perfect.
The bouncing back and forth between the scenes is a bit odd. It's not so bad now, but I feel like it will be worse on an archive binge.
Explained in the rant for this strip.
= Spindriver =The one time I don't read the rant...
And, unlike the video game pattern, humans fatigue, and can't pause to rest their thumbs.
Always assess whether it's safe to gloat before doing so.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Trapped like a rat! In a tractor beam. Which is pretty trapped, for a rat.
Of course, she could potentially fly into its mouth and zap up through its head.
Willbyr 'd my thoughts. It's classic judo - use the opponent's force against it in a direction they don't expect.
