Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

There was a joke I saw on Twitter today that at this rate, Magneto will likely end up being an Uber Eats driver Tony Stark didn't tip.

I really hope that doesn't keep being a thing. Tony's great. We know that. But he shouldn't start getting in the way of letting all these other characters build their own mythoses. It's kind of acceptable with Spider-Man because Spidey's Rogues Gallery is so well known that we know the whole "Iron Man is responsible for all of them!" bit is new and different, but it shouldn't - say - happen with Black Panther or Captain Marvel, characters whose universes and histories are only now being introduced to the audience.
The only one I'd really accept with an explicit Iron Man connection is Mandarin, for obvious reasons.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think it'd be hilarious for Mandarin to come to kill Tony Stark only to come to the realization that he's been dead for about a year or two.
It's been 3000 years…MCU Galactus turns out to be the guy who sold strawberries to Tony Stark but was offended by how Tony refused to touch them.

I remember a joke where someone said Scott Lang was a real hero because Tony insulted him and he didn't become a crazed supervillain.
Speaking of, when's the last time we had an update about Ant-Man 3. I've had my heart set on Stature for ages.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Nothing official yet. Right now there's only one movie confirmed for 2022 though (Black Panther II), so it could be there. It's funny, because there are several movies Feige confirmed are in the works (Captain Marvel 2, Blade, Guardians 3 and the Fantastic Four reboot) yet we have no idea when or where they're gonna be dropped yet.
Alternatively, maybe they could fold Ant-Man and Wasp into a West Coast Avengers movie.

Finding out Black Widow takes place after Civil war is kinda disappointing, as I was hoping it would be an origin story.
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.I thought the idea was that it'd delve into her origin while taking place after Civil War.
Actually, it just hit me. Do we have an actual synopsis for this movie?
In later movie appearances, Tony Stark will be played by Scarlett Johansson. And a tree.
Tony Bark.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Hank Pym will be mad that Stark die without beting him at something that he remake a ultron droid to show he Is superior scientist...and the ultron take over
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Y'know, if they decide to do an about-face on whether Peter should be the next Iron Man, they could decide to have Tom Holland keep appearing in MCU movies, but now wearing an Iron Man suit, and no one ever addresses him by name.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoI would have liked the new Black Widow movie take place in the 2,000 as they originally said.
In fact, they could justify why Natasha of the year 2,000 looks the same age as her older version.
1-The year 1,984 was not true, Natasha received a serum that makes her age much slower and was really born much earlier.
2-The year 1,984 was true, but Natasha received a serum that causes her to suffer accelerated aging in her first 16 years, but after 16 she stops aging or ages very slowly.
Source? Does that website have an actual source? Because it's another website known for sensational clickbait articles that are often wrong.
Yeah, that's a very clickbaity site, but that said I wouldn't be surprised if it's indeed dead. It is well known that pretty much everyone has passed on the pilot and we haven't heard from it for a while. Either remake that pilot or just drop it, which I think might be the case.
So link's in portuguse, but Waititi said Thor will still be the protagonist, not Jane Foster.
Waititi is a well-known troll, granted, and I can't say I'm unhappy at not having to wait until GOTG 3 for more Lebowski Odinson, but now I have even less of a clue of what kind of movie Love and Thunder wants to be.
EDIT: Link in english.

I mean Thor was gonna be in the movie no matter what. I don't think anyone ever said Thor would not be in the film just because Jane will also be Thor.
Wait.
Is Thor still gonna be in Guardians 3? I was under the impression he'd be gone by the time the movie was a thing.
One Strip! One Strip! We're not sure yet. James Gunn is preoccupied doing The Suicide Squad with WB and DC to talk about GOTG Vol. 3 right now.
I remember reading that Star-Lord might make a micro appearance in Love and Thunder, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not expecting Jane-Thor to have much of an appearance, despite the hype. My expectation is that there will be, like, one scene where Thor powers up Jane somehow and makes her Thor for the duration of one action scene, and then she's never Thor again. And then the rest of her spot in the film is just an ill-conceived attempt at resurrecting the awful Jane/Thor romance.
If I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised. But that's what Marvel's led me to expect. Best case scenario, she's as important to the plot as Rescue's neat but completely irrelevant appearance in Endgame. Worst case, Rescue's five seconds of nothing in Iron Man 3.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I get the feeling Love and Thunder will start with Thor going on a mission with the Guardians, only to leave by ten minute mark. Maybe he either leaves on his own accord or is kicked off because he's not gelling well with the team.
Either way, don't expect an "Asgardians of the Galaxy" movie like what the ending to Endgame promised.
Wait that sounds exactly like Iron Man 3 when Pepper had Extremis powers for that one scene at the end.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
That can't happen anymore now that Spiderman is gone.
Now villains will be villains for their own reasons.
Random thought: even though I don't think it was a big deal as far as events go, I'd like to see an adaptation of Atlantis Attacks.
....though I guess they would have to leave out Spiderman's parts.
