Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

We've seen the R&D at Stark in IM 1. They were just behind the curve on thr whole arc reactor thing.
Yeah, none of them are able to build a portable arc reactor in a cave with a box of scraps.
Disgusted, but not surprisedShuri presumably also has lab equipment that always works, saving time.
Not that I'm jealous or anything.
So... Any chances of seeing Iron Man famous Proton Cannon in Endgame?
Oh boy, those games. Games where Captain America can beat down Thanos or Shuma-Gorath.
Disgusted, but not surprisedFrom the way you said that, it seems you've played Capcom's crossovers with Marvel.
On that note, we had Spider-Man doing Maximum Spider on Thanos in Infinity War, though it required the former to use Doctor Strange's portals.
Not to mention FREAKING Galactus with a team of Hawkeye and Taskmaster
Indeed. We also got Hulk Car gloves from the game in The Incredible Hulk, so Marvel isn't shy of referencing games.
And as this is probably Iron Man last outing, I wonder if they will show his Proton Cannon. Hell, I would like to see Hulk using his Gamma Tsunami.
Iron Man's proton cannon in the MCU? That'd probably involve Tony jury rigging the Power Stone or something into his armor — possibly even replacing his arc reactor with it.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWith how he can create weapons with his new Nano technology, I guess the proton canon isn't out of the question is it?
One Strip! One Strip! It presumably would take more power than even his arc reactor could generate. Which is why I think it'd require the Power Stone.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThink of the weapon he could build if it was powered by all the stones..
New theme music also a boxIf the IG is too damaged to undo The Snap, Tony would probably have to do something like incorporate all of the Stones in his armor. With the caveat that channeling the Stones that way will prove fatal.
Disgusted, but not surprisedNeeding an Infinity Stone for the Proton Cannon sounds like how Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite ended, where Stark armed the protagonist of Mega Man X with a weapon the former invented called the "Infinity Buster" and armed with a Stone, and with Strange making everyone offer a power-up, takes down Ultron Omega.

Some Endgame action figures are in the wild and while they mostly don't show anything we haven't seen before: It does show that Valkyrie might be in the movie.◊
This song needs more love.Marvel's Valkyrie eh? That their way of copyrighting the name?
For Christsake, just call her Bryhild, already!
Brunnhilde is her name.
By the way, you can't really copyright names like "Thor" and "Valkyrie." They are in the public domain. What you can do is copyright those specific characters, so while you can have a character named Thor, you can't have a blond-haired Thor who wears that same armor and wields that same hammer. As for calling it "Marvel's Thor" or "Marvel's Valkyrie," that's probably a trademark thing. All the movies and TV shows also technically begin with "Marvel's."

Expect the inevitable MCU X-Men movie to officially be Marvel's X-Men or something.
I expect it to be titled Marvel's Uncanny X-Men.
After all, "Uncanny X-Men" is technically the title of the comic and they've never used it for a title of a movie, which just seems like a waste.
I swear I looked up what's with the "Uncanny" in Uncanny X-Men, but I can't remember why that word's there. Is it because "uncanny" is an adjective like "The Amazing Spider-Man" or "The Incredible Hulk" or "Invincible Iron Man"?
Yes. The "Uncanny" is the X-Men's chosen adjective like all of those.
Amusingly due the inexistence of that word in Portuguese they're here just called "Fabulous X-Men", which isn't quite as catchy.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Is there a Portuguese name for the Uncanny Valley trope?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThe robotics term, after which the page is named, is simply referred to as "Valley of Strangeness".
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
Shuri seems to be Wakanda's head scientist and the only one who's a real character but there are quite a few people around her lab, some of whom would logically have different specialties. Though I guess Stark Industries probably has some R&D beyond Tony himself.
