Nanoha blinked. As she made to line up, she noticed that one particular student was missing entirely. And it wasn't Suiko... it was Byakuren! Where had she gone? Nanoha looked around, then quickly raised her hand.

"Sensei, where'd Byakuren-chan go?"

As the study hall commenced, Aiko sat in her chair and buried her face in her hands. This was going terribly.

Rey joined the line, down at the end, a bit separated from his fellow challengers. He had his hands clasped nicely behind his back and was apparently studying the pink tennis shoes on his feet with intense interest, lifting one foot, then the other, looking them all over.

Shaking her head, Aqua pulls out her required class-related items and begins to work on the assignments given from a previous day. However, as she was working on the assignments, she quietly observed the other students in the class without bringing attention to herself. It wouldn't be right to stare at the others, after all.

Seeing the robot, and recalling that it was indestructible, Skyla figured the best way to deal with this would be to boost defense and take care of those missiles. The enemy may be indestructible, but is its ammo? Guess we'll find out... With that, Skyla boosted her shields and tried to at least push the missiles off course with her biotics, trying to give Snake Eyes an opportunity to get out of the situation he was in.

Matt was hit by one of the homing rockets, slamming against the wall. Most people would probably be killed but Matt was not most people. He was hurt but his wounds did not deteriorate his ability.

The warrior was able to move before a block from above could crush him

As Michiru read the note, she chuckled. "Blueberry garlic hotsauce waffles?" she muttered to herself and shook her head.
Stuffing the note with the fire spells into her skirt's pockets (she'll read and try to understand them later), she got up, gathered her things, and went to sit near Terrice.

"I think we can do this now," she whispered, "I doubt that the teacher will notice."
She smiled. Although the situation was weird, Mehir always enjoyed casting spells. "Also, I no doubt will need your help to decipher these," she said and indicated her pocket. "Shall we?"

"All right. Here we go then." Terrice replied quietly.

A bit louder so Aiko could hear she said: "Sensei would it be all right then if we went and got our math books? And can I go to the bathroom?"

"We've lost someone?" Nekomi asked, frowning. She couldn't exactly leave the rest of the class unattended to go and look for them and sending someone else to look would just lose her more students... so that me ant hoping that Byakuren came back? "Hijiri-san should find her way here soon, it's not as if she could have gone far." After all, the school gates are locked and no nine year old is going to be able to get over them...

The first person in the line was handed a bundle of safety equipment to put on, as was the second. It was clear what people were meant to be doing.

Deflecting the missiles, it seemed, would work perfectly. Outright attacking them was pointless... but as one block showed by interposing itself between a missile and Snake-Eyes, the blocks could detonate them, too—and the block was notably dented.

"But.... Nanoha looked towards the door, frowning as she did. She hadn't seen Byakuren leave at any point... "Shouldn't someone go see where she went?"

She figured it would probably be the best for everyone to stick together... right?

"That's fine..." Aiko said, not looking up. The loli teacher was hoping that she wouldn't get in trouble for making both homeroom and the class after it a study hall, but really, what else could she do...?

Would getting Saito help? Aiko didn't know for sure... She'd barely realized another student had been talking to her, or that she had yet to put her gothic lolita parasol away. "Oh... um... okay...

"Thank you, Esteemed Teacher," said Michiru. She got up, and, leaving her schoolbag behind, she exited the class. Soon enough, she arrived at the girl's lavatory, and waited for Terrice to catch up with her.

"Who are you, why are you on a roof, and why are you pointing a gun at my school?" someone asked, tapping their foot impatiently behind the man, whatever his name was. It was, almost unsurprisingly, Fuuko, complete with two fully functioning arms. It seemed that the prey had found the hunter, which indicated that sitting around on a roof and not moving was extremely bad for trying to find someone who knew every entrance and exit to the grounds. That she could fly rather helped.

There was a long pause.......

A beat.

The gunman crushed the sinper rifle into shadowy mass, turned around, reformed the shadows into a pair of assault rifles and fired them both upon Fuuko, all within the span of half a second. He flew into the air, skating across midair as masses of shadows encompassed his feet. to gain distance as he continued firing on the girl.

"The demons send yet another assassin? You would think that they'd have learned there's no chance of success," Fuuko commented idly, a complicated circle spinning in front of her and firing tiny lasers at each of the bullets. She didn't seem inclined to fight back as such, being much more concerned with rendering the gunman's attacks, and pride, ineffectual. "It's been a long time since I was merciful to those who rely entirely on others for their power."

Anyone with the slightest lick of magical sensitivity would be able to tell that something big was going to happen. Anyone capable of seeing onto the roof, which was effectively nobody, would be able to see what was going on. For whatever reason, Fuuko had a man-sized orb of black energy on her finger, that was swiftly pointed at the gunman. The laser that fired seconds later, shattering the defensive barrier, was similarly large.

The gunman continued firing, sneering as his shots were made ineffective. Then the massive laser followed. Luckily for him, there was a building right behind him. A portal of darkness suck him inside a split second before impact, causing him to vanish and the laser to impact the building instead.

Snake Eyes seized his good fortune, and flattened himself against the dented block, just squeezing past a descending block. Shimmying his way out before a block could crush him, he fell back deeper into the maze of falling blocks, dodging where appropriate, to have the remaining missiles detonate harmlessly off the descending blocks.

"Thank you sensei." Terrice said and bowed to the teacher.

Terrice shouldered her backpack and went to the bathroom, not too far behind Michiru. She would have left it behind but it had her fire spell copies in it along with the original. After waking up to find ghosts had silently snuck into her room, undressed her, and could have drained her without her noticing she was feeling a bit paranoid. Actually she wasn't really feeling comfortable enough to sleep alone anymore because of that and she was thinking maybe she'd ask Kohaku or Fluttershy if she could sleep over.

"Okay, before we begin I've got some good news to tell you." Terrice told Michiru when they entered the bathroom.

"I found out a bit about what's going on. I'll give the full details when we meet with the others after school but the short version is Chiko's group is trying to stop a demonic invasion. Draining people of magic and using it to heal some sick girl somehow is key to their plans. I might have an idea on what to do about that but first we need to know if the elemental can follow Chiko's friends without being detected. We don't want them to know we know where she is if we find out." Terrice explained.

All through the morning since she'd woken up she had thought four things: What do we need to do, how can we do it, what can go wrong, and how can we prevent it from happening. After a bit of thought she'd decided she didn't fully know the answers to any of those questions, so they needed more information and as many of the champions needed to know it as possible. And they didn't need Chiko's friends thinking they were a threat and coming after them seriously or they'd be in trouble. Even more trouble than they were already in, anyway.

She'd never had to make plans this complicated before (or at all, really) and it was really stressful. Moreso than combat. She didn't have any experience in strategy or leadership and they clearly needed both.

The gunman had made a critical error in failing to close the portal and, completely unsurprisingly, the laser passed through as well. The end results were less than pleasant, with flesh being stripped from bone, all the magic in his body being funnelled to devilish ends, and then the bones themselves turning to naught more than ash on the wind. All in all, no more successful than any other person to have attempted the same thing. It certainly didn't help that he tried to outrace a laser.

"Alright," said Michiru. "I worked the magical formulae last night, and am pretty confident that I'll manage to Summon and control the Elemental properly."
She paused. "Still, what you say troubles me," she said, and started counting on her fingers. "One, demon invasion. Only twice I have fought foes that could be called demonic - once, I had to destroy a rogue Great Efreet's physical body, and I had to defeat the Tharis." She shuddered and took a deep breath before continuing. "Reficul's forces (that is the Efreet) were small of number, denizens of the Red Abyss all. Only with heavy casualties did we defeat him. The Tharis weren't demons - but they had demonic creatures in their employ - gigantic, three-headed serpents - and their hordes were infinite. Yet we - the Summoners of Mag-Magar and the Kharosans - defeated them. But a full demon invasion... That's troubling.

"Next, draining magic. By all accounts, this is a practise of evil - only the most foul of Tharis Wizards would look into the likes of that, and I think that even they - they who lost their human form because of their sins, our sages say - find the practise repulsive.

"Now, to the last item: Healing someone with stolen magic is absurd. I know not anything like that, but then again there are many odd Planes out there." She sighed. "I think that this Plane is much more dangerous and dark that I first thought it is."

She paused for a moment once more, then took another deep breath. "I'll attempt the Summon now."

She took the miniature scimitar, now hanging from a chain, and rubbed it. The effect was immediate - a ball of blue light surrounded her, completely obscuring her.
Then, it was gone with a flash, and the transformed Michiru stood there, grasping her scimitars, her Circle once again emanating from her feet and casting a weird blue light, her now-longer hair rippling in a nonexistent wind.

Crouching, she began to draw runes in the air.
Soon enough, a Circle was formed, this one bluish-silver in colour. Suddenly, it flowed into the air, seemingly disappearing.

Out of no-where, a voice whispered: "What is thy bidding, Summoner?" it asked.
"You are to tail a girl-magician of great power. You are to report her every movement to me. You are to stay hidden from her and her associates if you value your existence," said Michiru, "for she will surely destroy you if she will find you."
"I hear and obey, Summoner. Describe this magician to me," said the voice.
"Help me, Terrice," said Michiru, "describe Chiko for the Elemental."

I don't really understand most of what she just said but it sounds bad. We can't let that happen here.

"All right let's see...'' Terrice said and prepared to give a description;

"She has only one arm. Sometimes she carries an absurdly large scyth with a bladed handle. She's stong enough to send musclebound people like me through walls with a backhand and she's fast enough to do so almost before you can blink. She didn't notice at first when I set her shoes on fire so I'm thinking she might not be able to feel pain. It seems like her skin is invulnerable too because our attacks didn't do a thing. She doesn't say any more words than she needs to. She prefers using brute force over negotiation, maybe because she thinks she doesn't need to use anything else other than brute force. I think she likes to fight but she was holding back on us by not using the bladed part of her scyth so I dunno. Among her friends she's known as The Reaper."

"Does any of that help?" Terrice asked the both of them. She hoped it did.

Terrice was trying hard to remember what Chiko's eye and hair colors were as well as her height and build but she had been paying more attention to what Chiko had said than what she looked like at the time. She'd never had to keep track of so many people at once before becoming a champion. It was difficult.

"That will suffice," said the voice.
A sudden gust formed - the Elemental took its leave and went to seek Chiko.

"That's about it," said Michiru. She dismissed her armour and hanged the scimitar pendant around her neck. "Now - back to the class, I gue-gue-guess," she said, yawning. "Nomoloas I'm tired..."
She yawned again. "Oh, I really need to rest... I will see you later, Terrice," she said.

Getting up from her crouched position, she went back to the class. There she put her head down on her table and soon was asleep, snoring gently.

"See you later."

Terrice took her math textbook out of her backpack and returned to class. She chose to sit beside Gunner this time since Michiru had gone to sleep. Poor girl, up all night working. She'd bring Michiru with her to wherever she was sleeping over if she could. Or ask one of the others to do so. She didn't want her to be an easy target for Joan and Matthew if they decided to pay her a visit.
