A Game of Gods: Infinities

The Tick appreciatively supped up his entrees.

"So," he said, between a mouthful of 1000 leaf clover. "I can see your catering hold themselves to high standards. Finest ingredients only, from what you've told us." He set down his fork. "If you cherish the best ingredients as much as I think you do... I'd guess retrieving this 'ingredient' will be far from easy."

Byakuren carefully ladled soup into a convenient bowl, ignoring the two people who had just appeared in favour of trying the watery substance. It was nice, though the warming thing was kind of weird, but the magician was far from a great connoisseur of food. Being a youkai magician gave her an unusual tendency to forget to eat.

From around a curve in the road, the rumbling of the giant vehicle grew louder and louder. Rey frowned, finally picking up the sound himself, and turned, reaching backwards to where his sword was normally kept, glad to find it still there, though he couldn't find the crowbar or anything else. "Guys, Fluttershy's right, that noise is...something..."

The something was in fact rapidly coming closer, the sound of a roaring engine increasing...until finally they were able to see it. It appeared to be some sort of transport...a bus◊, for those who would know what a bus was...larger than any they had seen before. Even the front wheels, the tiniest part of the main vehicle, would be taller than any of them; the pair on the back were as tall as a two-story building. The front of it had a grill that almost seemed to be the fanged mouth of some incredible beast, with four long tusks jabbing outwards, and six large exhaust pipes jutting up from either side, up to an almost laughably miniscule windshield at the top. It was largely red, with arcs of flame painted along the sides, with all the unpainted metal being shining chrome.

As it rounded the corner towards them, there was a tremendous squealing of brakes, and the enormous vehicle shuddered in protest at the abrupt change of speed, kicking up clouds of dirt and dust from the road as it did, screeching to a complete halt nearly 20 feet away, but then simply staying inert, the loud engine idling as it sat.

Rey had turned to look as it came around, taking a few alarmed steps back before the bus managed to brake, then frowned when he saw it, seemingly trying to take it all in as he stared, his facial expression mostly hidden by his mask as he did.

The Doctor looks confused. "What. What. That's a giant bus!? The size of that bus is absurd! What's in there!? A demon? The biggest group of people in history?"

Grievous was in a half-crouch and had a lightsaber in his hand when the vehicle came around the corner and as he took in its appearance, he switched on the lightsaber.

The green blade surged to life with the typical 'snap-hiss' of the weapon, and he held it with the tip pointed slightly up and ready for combat.

Nanoha briefly peered, curiously, at the man she didn't recognize who was sitting nearby. He didn't look like someone from the crystal city, so... was he one of the people who lived here, in this world?

Looking back to the food in front of her, she quickly took some of the soup and gazed down at the scoop she'd got. There were seven chunks of meat, of various sizes, floating high enough to break the surface. Nanoha took a sip of it and was quite please by the warmth.

"This is really good," she commented, cheer cutting through the grogginess in her voice.

At first Fluttershy squeaked in fear and hid behind Rey, thinking a giant monster was upon them. But then when the "monster" stopped, the pony looked up to see that it was merely a VERY large, VERY scary looking vehicle of some sort.

"Oh wow, that's the biggest train car I've ever seen," the pegasus said. "But how come nopony is pulling it?" she asked.

"Yes... the ingredient in question you are tasked to find is rather easy to find." Toriko answered the Tick as he sipped his wine. "Really, you wouldn't be able to miss it. Rather, the hard part of the mission is getting to it, acquiring a sizable sample, and correctly preparing it before taking it back to a safe zone for transport." The hunter answered his muscular equal, eyes appraising the group.

"It isn't easy, but it isn't that hard either if you know your stuff." Gesturing slightly, the main course came out: golden fried rice that literally seemed to be made of gold, shiny enough to be mistaken for the precious metal itself. Alongside it was the desert, which was a melon skin opened up at the top to reveal glistening sherbert. "ET Rice and Oasis Melon Sherbert. When you are finished with the morsels, I shall dispense the important information for the retrieval mission."

Antroz looked at the bus with one eyebrow raised(If he had eyebrows).

"Tell me Jack, is it usual for beings like Rey here to travel in such strange looking transports?"

Jack, looking up at the bus with some consternation, replied,

"I do not think so. But perhaps we may find out more about the nature of this world. Surely there must be someone on board that can help us."

He began walking around the massive vehicle, looking for a door.

"I thought as much. Don't worry, your grace, you can count on us!" The Tick hoovered up his golden fried rice and sherbet melon.

Antroz shimmered and dissolved into the air, reappearing on the hood of the bus.

Whatever comes out of this thing, I'd rather not meet till later

Shotaro canceled his Rider Punch and decided to run out of there. "Delta's a lost cause." Shotaro thought as he ran to the portal. He jumped into the portal.

Shotaro, still in his Rider form appeared on top of the bus. He looked around and saw the Champions. "Howdy! So, this is the next challenge?" Shotaro asked the Doctor.

A surprising long and awkward silence followed. Mehir looked around, examining the faces of his compatriots. Finding nothing, he looked around, and noticed the portal. "Here's another one," he said. Drawing his scimitars, he lept into it...

"Yep. Hello Shotaro... What ARE you wearing?"

"Oh, this? This is my Rider form. I'm sure you would have saw something like this when you hung around Narumi." Shotaro said, hopping off the bus. Shotaro looked at the reflection of the bus window and say that his armor was more leathery, with some spikes popping out of his shoulders and gloves. The belt for the Lost Driver looked more like a chain than an actual belt, as the Driver itself was less mechanical and more down to earth.

Suddenly, a side door at the front of the bus swung open, and out rushed two women...the first was a pretty if severe-looking tattooed blonde, wearing a lowcut leather halter and skintight pants and brandishing some sort of ax blade at the end of a long staff...and right behind her came a shapely brunette, more casually dressed in blue jeans and a gray T-shirt with a cross and raven design, with spiked bracelets and belt, wielding two short swords.

"All right," the blonde all but snarled, pointing her halberd at them, taking an aggressive stance. "Whoever you are, if you've come to try and stop us, I'll have you know that you are more than outnumbered, and if you want to live, you will simply remove yourself from our path and let us be on our way!"

"We don't mean you any harm, we just need to get to the sea quickly," the brunette added, seeming somewhat less hostile than the blonde, but with a definite edge in her voice that indicated something had her stressed regardless.

Rey was still staring in silence, but at the appearance of the two women, he squinted as though unsure of what precisely he was looking at...then his mouth came open slightly, and his eyes widened. "Oh...Dios mio...!"

The Doctor slaps himself. "Sorry. Sorry. Been 3 or so years since I saw him. Can't remember every small detail. I'm over 900 Shotaro... It all adds up."

Of course, at that moment Mehir tumbled down the road. His appearance haven't changed much - Black leather armour and a flowing cape being quite Metal-ish - but he did get a spiked bracelet. "well, Doctor," he asked, voice falsely cheerful, "What sort of Hell Plane did our captors send us into this time?"

Jack regarded the two women steadily.

"We are not your enemies and we have no wish to stop you. In fact, we may be able to help you. But since you are in a hurry, if you will allow us to accompany you on your journey, we have many questions. We are new here. These lands are strange to us. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated."

There was a second 'snap-hiss' as Grievous ignited a second lightsaber in his other hand. He deliberately made a motion of rolling his neck and flexing his arm as he took one step forward, holding a green lightsaber in his right hand and a blue one in his left. The dual glowing blades were at rest as Grievous eyed the two women with contempt.

“And besides...what exactly can you do about it?” He said as he pointed with the green lightsaber at the woman with the halberd. Grievous' patience was at a critical low.

Antroz looked down on the two women from the hood of the bus, should they attempt to do Any harm they would be struck by lightning.

And thats why I'm standing on the bus, not the ground......

Antroz was silent as he waited for something to happen.

The Doctor turns to Grevious. "General. Calm down. We do not wish to make enemies with the people of this world."

He turns to Mehir. "I do not know... Doesn't seem too bad though. No monsters yet."

"Emphasis on the yet," said Mehir. He turned to the women. "Can you tell us where we are, at least?" he asked. "I don't think I or my companions want to hurt you... yet." He glanced at Grievous.

Fluttershy squeaked and hid behind Rey again with the two human emerged from the giant vehicle. Despite it being mostly out of shyness, she was definitely nervous about the large weapons they were carrying, as well as the blonde woman's aggressive attitude. The black haired woman though seemed nice, but her voice held a sort of caution which suggested they would attack at any moment. Grievous was really not helping matters at all, the pony just about to ready to run and hide if there were any fighting starting.
