that was not exploding into atoms, so no, not even close to what happened in the fight. This is like comparing a Looney Tunes cartoon to a Saw movie. Hey, they both had people burning, must be the same, right?

And even then its insanely disingenuous, since we have seen blood in both Persona and RWBY. This fight animation managed to actually be Lighter and Softer than both source materials.

It's literally him being burned into nothing with a cartoonish feel. The same thing that happens in his games.

Okay, so people didn't like how Green Lantern vs. Ben 10 ended because it was too gory. Now people don't like how the ending to this fight wasn't gory enough?

I... I just...

At what level does the gore hit the right amount? Because I'm not sure what counts as too much.

Most Controversial Death Battle Endings:

3: Red gets his legs crushed by a dragon, and is incinerated.

2: Ben gets dismembered and is crushed into a fine paste by them tim🅱️s.

1: Weiss is a little cold lol

You get there is more than one person on the internet, right? Not every complaint is made by the same guy who changes their opinion wildly with everything new.

The DB crew have gone on record in several DB Cast episodes around and after the end of the previous season that they have gotten tired of all the battles ending with either very gory or very explosive deaths, and wanted to try something different with this season. I do remember Ben saying that they might change their mind if they find that the DB fandom is mostly on the "make the deaths unambiguous in how Killed Off for Real the loser is" side.

I'm all for Death Battle avoiding gore when it doesn't belong so I was happy with Weiss vs Mitsuru. Especially after Green Lantern vs Ben 10.

As for qwigly's complaints... Shit, that "salt is a way of life" clip has already been used.

....what in the last six episodes constitutes a not gory or not explosive death? We've had two decapitations, one extra gooey crushing, and 6 explosions.

If it's worth anything, Sam (one of the writers of the episode) said in the commentary that he wanted Weiss to be a victim of Literally Shattered Lives. The reason they didn't is because neither RWBY nor Persona are series with gory deaths.

I agree that it should've been less of an ambiguous death but at the same time, the RT character lost and that's all that matters. It's proof that their not going to skew the results whenever an RT character is in death battle so let's just let it go and move on.

I like how the latest episode spanned over a page of debate on this thread, but not any of it was in regards to the research or outcome of the fight.

I did question from the start the point of pitting two fighters against one another when they have canonically fought before but hey.

I'm much more looking forward to Cage vs Falcon. It's a better and better matchup the more I think about it.

Falcon also has the 51 episode anime to draw feats from (Even if he wasn't the protagonist.) so he's not nearly as empty as people will accuse him of being. I have no idea what the shit happened in that show, everybody only watched the first, the last, and that all-girls race episode.

It was truly a heated VS community moment.

Tbh, for me I'm not at all bothered that the episode isn't gory. I just wish they actually showed the body. I mean, Weiss is supposed to be based off of Snow White, isn't she? How fitting would it be to just show her corpse just lying there with it's eyes closed, as if she was asleep? Hell, maybe instead of shattering Myrtenaster, Mitsuru could place it back in her hands as a show of respect, like how Snow White clutched the flower in the Disney movie? It would have been a fine, dignified death for the character. She takes a final stand despite having no chance of winning, and her opponent shows her a sign of respect before leaving. Instead we get some ice shattering and a broken sword. At least Raven vs Twilight showed us an impact silhouette...

I don't mind the gore, even for kids shows, but the lack of it isn't my concern either.

I will concede, however, that the explanation as to why the final blow is so tame is kiiiiinda bullshit. Yoshi vs Riptor, Bomberman vs Dig-Dug, both versions of Mario vs Sonic, Zelda vs Peach, Pikachu vs Blanka, He-Man vs Lion-O, Fox vs Bucky, Luigi vs Tails, Pokemon Battle Royale, Donkey Kong vs Knuckles, Pokemon vs Digimon, Mewtwo vs Shadow, Amy vs Ramona, Scrooge Mc Duck vs Shovel Knight, Lucario vs Renamon, Smokey vs Mc Gruff, Sora vs Pit and Ben 10 vs Green Lantern are all giving the Screw Attack crew the evil eye.

Well, since they are on the spotlight again, who would you put against Banjo-Kazooie?

Yooka Laylee is the most popular choice from what I've seen.

Jak and Daxter would be my choice,though it would mainly involve Jack being powered up on dark echo and whooping that bird and bear

@F-Zero Anime: I believe it might qualify for non-canon like RWBY manga and therefore not be included.

The realization that the bigass Falcon Punch at the end was in fact a huge bomb going off rather than it being from an actual punch is a terrible letdown though.
