@Titan Jump, Physical Stamina, Cross: The cities can take Trump personally to court, get judgments against him and then seize his bank accounts to cover the cost.
In principle, they could arrest him for failing to abide by a court order, but no sane judge would write out an arrest warrant for the President, and whether or not it was legal, arresting Trump really would lead to a civil war - as in, federal troops fighting state police civil war, since Mike Pence would send troops.

X3 If this is about rally funding the problem is that Trump doesn't organise them as a private individual, he does them via organisations. So he’d problem do a bunch of rallies via the company “Trump Rallies ltd” and then declare the company bankrupt when people try and make him pay for the stuff he used for the rallies.
On the subject of Biden and him not understanding personal space, I do wonder if had Reade gotten better treatment, when she was one of the women coming forward about Biden in that regard, if things wouldn’t have escalated.

I knew that Charlemagne tha God wasn't worth listening to when I heard that his idea of flattering Angela Bassett was to call her "vintage vagina". You don't do that if you want to come off as someone who actually likes females beyond your own selfish whims.

I think it's worth pointing out that both Biden's comment can be inappropriate and Charlemagne the God can be a shitty person. Those are perfectly compatible.
Sexism and transphobia are terrible, as is racial gatekeeping (particularly when you're a white guy). They don't cancel each other out.

I generally would consider someone not worth listening to when the name they go by is a misspelling of a name-cum-title derived from Norman French, which would be aggrandising enough as the -magne part comes from Magnus and thus great if it wasn't also one of the single most significant rulers in the history of European politics. Arguably the most significant from various perspectives.
And then go and make it more boastful.

This is the definition of damning with faint praise if the best thing you can say about Biden's comment is that it's not as bad as a thoroughly nasty person then maybe it's not something worth defending?

I'm not defending it now. It was dumb, I think he failed at what he wa trying to say and he apologized.
Charlamagne, however, was on the news earlier (I think MSNBC) earlier, bragging about how awesome he is and how he exposes politicians.
I'm glad to hear that you feel the same about Biden's comment as I do.
And yes, Larry Mckelvey (personally I refuse to call him Charlemagne) sounds like a terrible person.

Federal judge guts Florida's 'felons must pay poll toll]] law.
Finally some good news from Florida. Suck it, poll tax.
In all likelihood, the case will be appealed to the 11th Circuit Court. They upheld his earlier, temporary ruling against the law, so I'm hoping they'll do so again. Does anyone here know how they lean in general?
Judge Hinkle was the one that expanded the case to include all of Florida's former felons, not just the ones who sued, and pushed to have the trial by video once coronavirus hit in order to make sure that it would happen in time for the November elections. He's been pretty decent throughout the trial.
"The Twenty-Fourth Amendment precludes Florida from conditioning voting in federal elections on payment of these fees and costs," he wrote, referring to the constitutional amendment that bans poll taxes.
Hinkle did not find, however, that the law intentionally discriminated on the basis of race, as the plaintiffs had argued, because of the disproportionate number of African Americans among the state's population of felons.
Hinkle's order requires the state to tell felons whether they are eligible to vote and what they owe. It also requires the state to allow any felon to register if they are not given an answer within 21 days. No one will face perjury charges for registering and voting through this process, he ordered.
An earlier article I read indicated that another 30 states require felons to pay fines, fees, and restitution before they regain the right to vote. I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't strike down the idea of the law entirely based on racial discrimination, focusing more on the functional problems Florida had. The other states' takeaway might be that they need to fix their system to be more efficient rather than that they need to get rid of such laws entirely.

With all the hand-wringing going on about voting by mail, I have to wonder how the election might be affected if this happened?

For context, "this" refers to Pennsylvania being unable to finish counting their ballots for days after election day.
The Republicans will scream how the election is fraudulent and stolen if the vote counting isn't finished on the same night. But they're going to do that anyway, so that's not something we should be concerned about.
Thing I never understand about US elections is that nearly everything is called by the media anyway. Yes, they get the raw count information and use that to inform models that they use to make state by state calls as to who wins will win any given state - but it's not handled by returning officers officially calling races like in UK elections.
So I kind of get the feeling that as long as the models the media are using can account for the additional uncertainty that a mail in ballot might entail then surely there is nothing stopping the major news networks calling the race on the night anyway.
Then again, that might make things worse. Lets say it's Biden by a nose. In other words large enough for a call to be realistically be made but perhaps some room for doubt. The toxic situation would be if everyone else calls it for Biden but Fox sits on their hands. Perfect for stoking division right there.

The Public has overwhelmingly come out in favor of anti-pandemic efforts, by going the opposite direction the far-right is directly undercutting their electoral hopes. As such, any terroristic actions they take will be ultimately ineffectual.

Well, I mean, I suppose it depends on means what you mean by a 'credible' threat. It's not gonna lead to right-wing extremists leading an insurrection and taking over the country by force. It might, however, lead to some right-wing extremists carrying out a terrorist attack on some things, which would still be bad.

I don’t see any reason to consider this threat credible in any way. Frankly I’m a little dubious of the frequent predictions of a wave of lone wolf terrorism as well. Right-wing terrorism has been carrying on at a pretty steady pace in the US for a long time now, we just don’t call it terrorism.
They should have sent a poet.
Frankly, Biden isn't near Jimmy Savile levels of creep by a wide margin.
