I think Hey Arnold has to be my favorite cartoon, tied with Rugrats. It's so funny, and so smart, and it's where I got my handle.
I actually liked how all of the characters were a little bit odd looking.

"When lights out/I'm like a gremlin/Feed me hiphop and I start tremblin'"—Eric B. and RakimAnd Sid was a popsicle stick!
The Christmas Episode of this show is one of my favorite Christmas specials ever, but I also like the "Heatwave" and "Blizzard" episodes (which were back-to-back, natch). And who could forget the immortal "Downtown as Fruits?"
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI just realized that Gerald's head is the same shape as Eugene's head.
What kind of genetics are at play here?
"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"Gerald and Eugene's heads are shaped like bongs...that is all.
"When lights out/I'm like a gremlin/Feed me hiphop and I start tremblin'"—Eric B. and RakimIt was a show that I never really payed that much attention to while it was on, but looking back it really was pretty hilarious.
I liked the Big Damn Movie.
Easy street has no parking signs.Same here. With a few exceptions, it was originally, for me, "That show that was on before Snick." But looking back at it, I realized how great a lot of it was and it really grew on me as I got older.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThe show was when I first heard about Vietnam, Divorce, abandonment, Love & Hate, A appreciation for deeply enriched characters (Helga is probably one of my favorite characters of all time), And I especially love how it deals with such a varied cast of ethnicities and genders ( I mean, one of the supporting characters is a Lazy coffee induced mother, and another is a Country singing man from vietnam!) I wish I could go back and watch all the episodes again.
Completely sad, or completely hilarious?

"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"^I watched that one this morning lol. The thug who mugged Arnold looked creepy as hell though, seriously that city is freakin scary.
Also, Oskar is one of the funniest characters in the show, hands down.
There's also some unintentionally funny moments on this show that comes from mishearing characters' lines. Such as Grandpa's "You shitty kids!" in the beginning of the camping episode or Grandma calling Arnold a pimp in the end of "The List."

The only thing I hated was how Arnold was such a Marty Sue and had to solve everyone's problems by the end. But it was otherwise a perfect show.
That dude in Don Zabu's post scares the crap out of me. Scary six years ago, still scary now.
At the end of the game, both the king and pawn go back in the same box."AAAAAAAAHHH! It's WHEEZIN' ED! And... and... SOME OTHER GUY!!!"
I still laugh.
Boring story, but I was an active part of the fandom for this one. I at one point thought Arnold was too disgustingly well-adjusted and kind to be an actual person, and then I got to meet Craig Bartlett. I'm still a little awed.
I always thought Arnold was pretty much an "average" kid with some flaws at the beginning of the series, and then he was flanderized into becoming the Marty Stu.
"When lights out/I'm like a gremlin/Feed me hiphop and I start tremblin'"—Eric B. and RakimPeople as mind-bendingly well-adjusted as Arnold in real life do exist. My best friend is one. He gets upset sometimes, but I've never known him to angst, and he's disgustingly cheerful and good-natured 90% of the time.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~Madrugada^I knew a guy like that in college. Friendliest guy I ever met.
I wish I met a guy like that, lol.
I was just watching Hey Arnold a few days ago on Netflix.
I have a similar story as some people here. I was never into the show when I was like, 6 or 7, because to me fantasy was what was "da shiz." I remember watching it because there was nothing better on at the time xD but after seeing it again I thought it was one of those interesting slice-of life-like shows with plenty of insane happenings to keep you entertained. Even now! It aged pretty well :)
x8 Oh my gosh, I remember that! Wow its been so long, haha.

I saw the Christmas special a few years ago, and liked it. I saw a few clips of Helga on Youtube, and I'm figuring she's the best character.
I feel old when this show is brought up, because it wasn't on when I was a kid.
It just clicked! Helga is a prototype of Candace!

Um who?
Eh, in a way. Hell, they share the same voice actor in latin america.
Too bad we never got the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie.
or this
I watched this again recently and wow this show was great. I think I may even appreciate it now more than I did back when it used to air. "Stoop Kid's Afraid to leave his stoop!" shall forever be ingrained into my mind until I die lol.
Also, did anyone else find Joey Stevenson◊ to be creepy looking?
