One of the best damn shows MTV ever attached their name to.

So, favorite episode? Favorite quotes?

The whole Tom relationship plot had a few memorable bits for me, especially in the episode that he and Daria hooked up.

*kissing*
"... That was weird."
"I know. I liked it too."
"That's not funny!"
*more kissing*
"... Okay, that was definitely not funny."
"Igottago!"

^ the first this Daria says after the Slap-Slap-Kiss is a flurry of "DAMMIT!!

And yeah, I loved the episodes where Daria and Jane were at each other's throats, namely Jane's Addition and Dye! Dye My Darling! I tend to skip over a lot of the segments that focus on the Fashion Club or Kevin and Brittany. (I do the same thing to My So Called Life for the segments with the parents.)

Oh god, Daria was my first online fandom. I actually stopped watching around the fifth season so I haven't seen all of them, but I made sure to tape the first three. Just off the top of my head one of my favorite bits was when Helen and Jake's old hippie friends come visit.

Quinn: You can't leave me alone with those... Those yuppies!

Daria: Yuppies are from the 80s.

Quinn: Then what do you call the people who wear funny outlets and talk about peace and love and stuff?

Daria: Trekkies.

Also, when Quinn gets the job at the pet store and takes the lid off the boa constrictor tank, and is shocked when it escapes "How could this happen! Don't boa constrictors have gravity?!"

Every time I try to think of an episode or quote I like the best, a bunch of other ones come up. Daria is one of those rare shows that was always consistently good.

"Jake Morgandorffer doesn't repeat himself. Doesn't! Repeat! Him-self!"

Hah, that reminded me- "But if BC is a caveman, how can he celebrate Ash Wednesday?!

My favorite episodes (Road Worrier, Lane Miserables, and I think It Happened One Nut) were by Anne D Bernstein, and some of the worst were by Peggy Nicolls (Lab Brat, Fair Enough, The Daria Hunter)

Oh yeah... and there was also that one episode with the side-plot of Jake getting a job that came with a brand-new computer... only for it to crash on him while he was multitasking.

"Damn computer! It ate everything! Big fat smug damn stupid crappy piece of crappy crap!!"

I hate that the DV Ds took out some context sensitive music. Namely Everybody Hurts for that "This is like that REM Video, except you can't read anyone's minds" <thank god> joke from The Road Worrier, or Trent and Jessie listening to Frank Zappa albums before deciding which records to sell In That Was Then, This is Dumb.

Also, Daria's "... damn." after daydreaming in reaction to Trent's Jailbait Wait comment from Lane Miserables always gets to me.

I cry a little inside every time I think of this show and remember that there isn't a full unedited dvd package for it, and likely never will be because the music rights would be to expensive.

Truly one of the artistic masterpieces of its generation, it was. Definitely the best thing to appear on MTV, aside from possibly Aeon Flux.

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

Lo and behold, the only song Daria managed to keep in the DVD release is Whoop There It Is, and that's only because characters were singing it.

I know that Daria didn't really seem to fit on Logo, but it's a shame the network pulled it from their schedule. They used to air four-to-five different episodes per week, but suddenly stopped a month or two ago. It was a last minute decision, too, as they had six episodes scheduled for one day, which I recorded on my DVR, but they aired a different show instead. Hasn't been on since.

Man, the episode Boxing Daria surprisingly hurts. In fact, though Daria's made several jokes about existential crisises, the minute it actually seriously happens to her makes for one hell of a watch.

I greatly enjoyed this show while I was in high school. The stereotypes are so accurate, they're scary. Re-watching some of the episodes brings back memories.

I used to like this show and I still enjoy it to some degree, but maybe because I'm an adult now but a lot of things that I saw as the Gospel now seem a little dubious

Favorite episode had to be "Road Worrier". One memorable moment is when Daria has to go to the bathroom and ends up using the bushes and all you hear is "Stop staring at me you squirrel pervert!" (or something similar)

I also found the "Im going to a picnic" game they were playing amusing. I cant remember all of the things they were bringing but I remember two of the items were "a Dromedary" and "The Cryogenically Frozen Head of Walt Disney"

As a teenager today, I love Daria. I think it is still very relevant. When I'm at school, I always feel very much like Daria. When I discovered the show, I was amazed at how much I could relate to it.

I liked the episode "The Misery Chick".

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it all. I've decided to buy the box set, since I've only managed to see parts of episodes on youtube. I found what Daria was saying about how everyone thinks she's just gloomy and miserable to be a kind of Crowning Moment Of Awesome because I could totally understand the annoyance she was feeling.

The first episode, "Esteemers" was also one I really enjoyed, especially when she says "I don't have low self-esteem. I have low esteem for everyone else." There does seem to be a kind of thing in schools for teachers to just assume certain kids are depressed or have low self-esteem just because they're different. Though I admit my self-esteem isn't that high, but when I'm at school all I can think of is how much incompetence, stupidity and bullying there is. Did any Daria episode ever address bullying? Because I think that would have been interesting to see.

[up] That's too bad. The one fault with Daria is that everyone's too nice. My school is full of all sorts of assholes and I guarantee you Daria would have been bullied in such an environment (though luckily for her it is an all-boys' school- which is like regular school only much, much worse). I think it would have been very strange to see her being bullied or witness someone else being bullied. She's always in control and so independant that I don't think she would be able to deal with being powerless. But she would probably have some quip handy to retaliate with (even if bullies are often too dumb to understand sarcasm). I'd imagine though that before they met, Daria and Jane would have suffered a lot of bullying. After all, they're both very nonconformist and introverted.

A lot of shows try to show how to deal with bullying, but the advice always seems very bland and not always that effective. I think Daria's views on it would have actually been useful and realistic.

My favorite character constantly switches between being Daria and Jane. They're both so amazing. I'm still only on season three though, since the only way I can watch it is through the internet...
