General Looney Tunes / Assorted WB Animation (that isn't DC) Thread.

It probably doesn't help that the Looney Tunes movies so far take themselves way too seriously. They're all about the Looney Tunes facing existential crises one way or another. Even the first Space Jam was about them facing enslavement by aliens. Back in Action is about Daffy being fired and Bugs realizing his act doesn't work without Daffy as a foil. A New Legacy starts off with the Looney Tunes drifting apart since they feel irrelevant in modern times, with Bugs becoming depressed and lonely since he's the last holdout.

Even Coyote vs. Acme, according to the leaked plot spoilers, would have revealed that Acme Inc. has been running a cruel social experiment on Toons all along by selling them deliberately faulty products.

Right, because BLM had fuck all to do with WBD and Looney Tunes.

Heck, they stopped syndicating the old cartoons with blackface long before BLM was ever a thing.

As far as entirely animated Looney Tunes feature length films goes, there are the compilation films from the early 80's (The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie, Daffy Duck's Quackbusters, etc) but since those aren't entirely original animation—the have original animation framing sequences and are otherwise made up of already existing shorts—I don't know if they count.

Realistically speaking, people probably will use him once he's public domain. But he becomes public domain way later than most of the core cast does. (I think it's like 2040-something?)

I think you're assuming they'll allow their characters to enter public domain,I have the strongest feeling they won't.

Honestly, Pepé Le Pew's shtick grew tiresome and just not funny after the first couple shorts.

The one short I actually enjoyed was when the tables were turned and Pepé Le Pew for once got to know what it felt like to be pursued by an unwanted admirer.

Because they knew it wasn't going to go ahead. Times have changed since they extended the copyright act.
