Unless they also added it to the original game, that would perhaps be even more scummy than it just being artificial scarcity. Releasing a game "temporarily" to make as many people buy as possible for FOMO, but actually planning to release a better version later.

Yeah, the only way Nintendo didn't get into a seriously messy trouble in that case would be to add Galaxy 2 as a free update for those who bought the three-game compilation. What they did back in the SNES days was already shady enough, but they got away with it because Internet wasn't a thing yet.

Or the often floated idea that they might release the three games for $20-$30 each afterwards as well as Galaxy 2.

In Mario Bros. 3, we had Hammer Bros. Fire Bros. and Boomerang Bros. Additionally, we have Sledge Bros. which are bigger, beefier versions of Hammer Bros. If they were to make bigger beefier versions of Fire Bros. and Boomerang Bros. what would they be called?

Super Mario Maker 2 already introduced Heavy Fire Bros., enlarged versions of Fire Bros.

Meteor Bros would be a good name.

I think Magma Bros. has a nice ring to it, but I can't come up with anything for a beefier Boomerang Bros.

I was thinking Shuriken Bros, but that's already Pom-Pom's thing. Maybe "Chakram Bros"?

Happy Mario Day everyone.

I spent my Mar10 Day today eating pizza and beating eight Mario games in a single sitting (1, Lost Levels, 2, 3, World, the Land duology, and 64). Pretty swell day if you ask me.

To celebrate this day, I was playing some Mario Maker levels online, as well as watching Youtube videos by channels who were playing Expert or Super Expert. I've gotten lots of hearts lately, but strangely the two levels I'm the proudest of haven't gotten any. Oh well...

I started Bowser's Fury after almost finishing vanilla 3D world. Not sure if I'll go back to do the final world or not.

I'm really enjoying Bowser's Fury though. It's a lot of fun exploring the islands.

Does collecting 100 coins do anything in Bowser's Fury?

Gives you an extra power-up.

If the Koopalings are named after musicians (except Larry), does that mean Zappa Mechakoopas are named after Frank Zappa?

The Nintendo employee who came up with the names stated two different things about Larry: once that he was named after Larry Mullen Jr., and once because he "looked like a Larry". The truth is unclear.

Those things aren't contradictory

If he was named Larry after the decision to use musician's names - all it means is that it was done to fit the theme

Also of note is that Reznor was named after the musician from Nine Inch Nails. Only overseas, though, since it has a different, unrelated name in Japan (Buibui).

Super Nintendo World had its grand opening today!

Super Nintendo World better have 96 exits from the park.

Finally got around to beating Champion's Road. Last time I did it with Rosalina, but this time I stuck to my guns and cleared it with good old Mario. Plus the tanooki suit. Still tough, but doable once I relearned the course. Maybe someday I'll go for all stamps.

Nope, you have to reset the game.
