Before he had packed in for the night, Matt could maybe be seen skulking around on his own around town.

Matt's night of sleep had not been easy. He was for one trying to wrap his mind around the enormity of his situation - he wasn't stuck somewhere else in his world, but another world entirely. It was like he'd hopped onto the usernet without the exit button, nor the safeties that stopped anyone from dying.

The next thought that hit him was the very real chance of dying - although he was publically known in Steelport, he was normally hidden safely behind his army of Deckers. Here he was on his own and vulnerable, and the fact he wasn't actually any good with his weapons was starting to show even though he hadn't fired. Spray and pray seemed to be an optimal condition.

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

"Morning, Agatha; Mister Suou." Raspberyl responded softly, similarly hoping she wouldn't wake the others. She was fairly certain her woodcarving hadn't woken anyone yet, considering its usual level of volume, but she paused her work all the same. Before she could stuff her carving kit back into her bag

, her friendly smile was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice calling out to her.

Drawn toward the window, Raspberyl's eyes fell upon what initially appeared to be nothing at all. She was certain that was where the voice had come from, but all she saw was ducky, early-morning sky and a small spherical object shaped vaguely like an eye resting on the windowsill. Regardless, Raspberyl couldn't exactly ignore the voice, especially given the fact that Agatha and Katsuya had apparently heard it as well.

"Um, hello? Who's there?" Raspberyl asked, keeping her voice far too low for it to qualify as 'calling out' to the mysterious newcomer. "...And no, this isn't a toaster. Where are you?"

"Where am I?-right here! In front of you! Can't you see me!?" The voice replied in a confused tone.

As the voice spoke, a shutter seemed to close over the "eye" of the spherical object and then open up, as if it had blinked. The eye then seemed to tilt slightly sideways, as if giving an inquisitive look at Raspberyl.

"Anyway, if it's not a toaster, then~ I'm thinking~...It's...probably an animal of some kind. Or-or maybe a loaf of bread with legs! Yeah, I'll go with a loaf of bread!" The sphere continued to move as the voice spoke.

Oswald got up from the bed and yawned. The rabbit had eaten a pair of barbequed potatoes before going to bed on the what was basically a simple futon on a rack. No where near the comfort that was King Dedede's palace, but out here it was taking whatever one could get. He learned that right after the Thinner Disaster.

He had not heard from that knight yesterday about the situation involving the van his group left. The toon had figured that Jim would actually handle the details of that venture. He figured he would go check it out later today anyway.

He went downstairs and sat by a table, waiting for the others.

Raspberyl gave a startled blink as the mysterious object blinked at her, causing things to suddenly make...just as little sense as they had before. The new voice finally had a 'face', at the very least. Raspberyl was fairly certain that was an improvement, if nothing else. She wasn't entirely sure why the spherical newcomer was so interested in her woodcarving, but she had to admit that having someone show interest at all was actually sort of a nice change of pace. Most people who learned of her hobby tended to dismiss it with a neutral and disinterested "Oh, cool", but the little sphere seemed genuinely intrigued by the half-finished figurine. He'd been interested enough to guess at its intended shape more than once, in any case.

"Yeah, it's an animal from my world. It's called a Sabre Lion. It's a big cat." Raspberyl explained, unsure of why she'd bothered adding in the last bit. After all, a name like 'Sabre Lion' tended to be fairly indicative of what the creature in question looked like, and she liked to think the feline shape was already beginning to show through at her current stage of progress. On the other hand, the sphere had guessed that it was a toaster or a piece of bread with legs, so she couldn't be too sure.

"Anyway..." the demon girl continued, finally stuffing her carving kit back into her bag before facing the newcomer once more. "What's your name? I'm Beryl." If she were to think about it, Raspberyl wasn't even certain of whether or not the sphere had a name, but there didn't seem to be any reason for her to assume it didn't. At the very least, it seemed to be sentient, so she decided she may as well be polite to it.

May had gone to bed early the previous night, burying her head under the covers as she tried to will away the day's events. The uneasy feeling had returned as soon as she left the company of the others, seeming to slip into her skin along with the cold air. Her tiredness won out eventually, though, and eventually, the Trainer found herself falling asleep, curled up in the little cot as she burrowed to the warmest spot she could find.

The next morning, as she slowly drifted awake, the chilly air once again keeping her drowsy longer than it normally would have, a strange voice began to chatter outside the window, asking something about a toaster. Stirring groggily, the Trainer mumbled questioningly, beginning to ease her way out from under the blankets.

"...Toaster?" she murmured, opening her eyes. On the windowsill sat an extremely odd spherical object, as its voice continued to speak to Beryl, who was looking rather confusedly at the creature, or robot, or whatever it happened to be.

Whatever the thing was, it seemed to be sentient, and so May nodded to it as well as the others as she swung her legs over the side of the bed, dragging her blanket along with her as she shifted into a seated position as Beryl asked for its name.

"Morning, everyone," she added once she had finally settled, feet snugly protected from the floor by an insulating layer of blanket.

"Oh god, this must be what it's like to be a farmer" Gene said as he crawled out of bed in the other room, throwing the blanket off as he knew there was no point in comaplaining. The worse part of it was that he was beginning to grow used to this sun-down sun-up sleep cycle, and he had grown so used to getting up at "whenever he wanted to". He didn't even bother getting out of his clothes when he passed out last night, far to tired (or possibly fed up) with the day's events to give any care to minor discomfort and only wishng for the escape of sleep. Well, he's still stuck he when he woke up, so it was a bad attempt for an escape.

Exiting the room he saw 47 was already up before him, though he should have saw that earlier since they had seeming accidently slept in the same room. The God Hand would say he did it so that the girl would have more room to them, but really it was an attempt to get a room to himself. No such luck. "Morning, cue ball" Gene greeted the agent in his usual joking tone, hiding his grumpiness from not being a morning person "Is anyone else up yet?"

Sanya woke from a night of very interesting dreams that he knew he would soon forget. It took him all of two minutes to locate his kevlar vest, his gym bag containing his AK-47, and Esperacchius and attach them to his person.

Sure, the chances of him needing to use a holy sword, an assault rifle, and bullet proof armor this early in the morning in an Inn were slim to none, but the Russian Knight had learned to be ready for a fight at any time in the last few years.

He came down the stairs to find the rabbit, Oswald, sitting by a table, and went over to sit next to him. "Good morning," he said.

The apparent owner of the voice was revealed - a white-metal and blue-glass sphere, perched on the window sill.

"Good morning, Mr Suou, May." Agatha said, returned Katsuya's nod despite sounding somewhat distracted. She peered up at the object, professional curiosity joining cautious suspicion in evicting the last remains of sleepiness in her mind. Another clank? Or a remotely operated unit of some sort? Interesting... The spark watched the globe-like contraption "blink". Nice mechanism there, very smooth... and an impressively natural cadence and speech pattern, if it really is autonomous...

Agatha's hand found her toolbelt, and she quickly buckled it around her waist. The mechanical eye seemed harmless enough - if a little dim - but here could be any number of hidden weapons inside its casing. With some clanks, you never could tell until you either took them apart, or they tried the same on someone else. She watched on as Beryl introduced herself, waiting for the eye's response.

Sleep came surprisingly easy for Molly, who had silently slipped into her room at some point in the middle of the night. It wasn't exactly deep sleep (but when was the last time she'd experienced that?), but at least she made better use of her time than staring at the ceiling all night.

She woke up rather early. Sitting up in her cot and leaning against the wall, she went over her thoughts once more. She'd almost expected something to happen in the middle of the night. If someone had really locked her into a cyberspace construct, they would have most likely done whatever they were trying to do by now, and she wouldn't be here anymore. Maintaining a world of this detail, while definitely not unheard of back home, took no small amount of resources. The possibility couldn't be ruled out yet, but still... maybe the quantum physicists, the ones who bought into the "many worlds" theory, were on to something after all.

Hearing voices from the hallway, she rose from the bed with barely a sound, opened the door, and exited into the hallway. If 47 and Gene were able to see her eyes, her expression would read something along the lines of "I forgot how much I hate introductions".

"Oh, so it's a cat!" The Sphere said. It seemed to squint at the small carving for a few seconds. "Mmmmmmmmmyeah, I-I guess it does sort of have that...Catish look to it." It commented, nodding it's...eye.

"The name's Wheatley. Nice to meet you Beryl" The sphere said, the lower shutter covering a small part of the eye, giving it a friendly look. "So uh~, I don't mean to be a bother, but can you maybe tell me where I am exactly, or what this planet is called?"

"Good morning to you too mate." Wheatley said in response to May.

Rogue had soon found the inn most of the others were staying and did her fair share of the work at the inn to ensure a place to sleep and something to eat for the night.

The next morning, Rogue had woken up and went downstairs.

"Hey, Ozzy..." Rogue grumbled out, not being much of a morning person. She soon yawned and sat at the table, still tired.

Last Night

Kyle's meditation - perhaps unsurprisingly - did nothing to clear up the mystery of how to progress further. Its' only real boon seemed to be the release it provided him. Soon, however, he felt that there would be no further benefit from meditating. Getting up, he stifled a yawn.

Things must be getting to me, he thought to himself. By the Force, it doesn't feel like I've had a good night's rest. I'd better get to an inn.

Luckily for the Jedi Master, there was indeed an inn. It appeared that some of the other travellers had decided to go there as well, which saved Kyle having to try to talk to the Innkeeper while he felt drained. Going to one of the rooms, he took a quick look around. It was going to be cramped, yes, but he'd dealt with worse.

Once he was ready, he fell to sleep almost immediately after he finished using his datapad.

Okay, here's an update.

The Trope-tans have been captured by the Bloodhounds. I wish I could have done something about it, but it would probably have turned out like Luke's fight with Desann all over again.

...

I don't know how to feel about what's happened. I can only hope that I will be able to atone for my mistakes before I get myself killed on some damned foolish and misguided crusade.

— Kyle

Kyle awoke uneasily, though once he was aware of where he was wakefulness came more easily to him. Rubbing his eyes and checking that nobody had pilfered his gear in the night, he stumbled out into the corridor, still trying to ignore the obvious questions looming in his mind.

Seeing that no one was inside the inn, Ezio had stepped out for a bit, not wanting to look odd. But now, the aging man heard voices coming from the inn. He smiled, and turned around again, walking slowly back into the inn, this time discarding the guise of the old man, and instead acting like himself. He carried himself proudly, but not so much he attracted a lot of attention — just enough so people would take a glance at him, assume him a noble, and then disregard him. Ezio looked at all present, cleared his throat to get their attention, and then spoke.

"Hello, fellow travelers." His voice was low, his flow even. "You look like quite the merry band of adventurers." Ezio glanced idly at one of the stranger ones (Oswald) and then passed him off as normal his world's population. "I have just been mysteriously...shall we say, transported from my home, Italy. I don't suppose any of you have experienced the same thing?" Even though it was not phrased like one, the question was obviously heavily rhetorical: Ezio could tell from a distance that these people were not from one solitary world, but from many, where the local species differed much from the ones Ezio had encountered.

"If you have not experienced the phenomenon that which I have named," the man continued, stepping into the inn slightly more, "then I beg your pardon for being odd." He shrugged, and it was clear that he wasn't really begging anyone's pardon. "I only wish for some information on the land that I now inhabit. Perhaps one of you might know something about it." He shrugged again. "Again, if not, pardon my intrusion."

This speech given, Ezio sat down in the nearest table, pulling himself close and folding his hands upon the table. He stared at the group, his face open and smiling. "I mean no harm, really. I just want some help, is all. I'm just disoriented."

"Mornin' people," Oswald greeted his fellow group members while trying to make some sorta balloon animal type thing. As Ezio made his introduction the rabbit untangled whatever he forming and reattached his ears. "You're in the same boat as all of us pal," the rabbit said to the assassin. "I downed several cups of a rather questionable beverage while celebrating my one year anniversary of my kingdom's restoration, and next thing I knew I was lying in the middle of an alleyway of an abandoned town with a massive hangover. And then I found myself getting clocked on the head by falling masonry while investigating some fight that was going on in that same town's clocktower."

"I got pushed over a waterfall in my world and washed up on a beach in this one."

Lina had come out in time to hear Ezio's question and Oswald's response, and felt it appropriate to add her own. It would be clear to the others that she hadn't slept well during the night. There were shadows under her eyes, her hair was more messy than usual, and she moved like someone who was not feeling very energetic. Not mention that her voice sounded tired and annoyed, both.

Normally Lina was a heavy sleeper, and wouldn't wake up until she felt like it. But thanks to a certain encounter the previous afternoon, her dreams had been haunted by fishmen and as a result her rest had been minimal. Her stomach had also been unsatisfied at bedtime, which had made things that much worse.

She made her way over to Oswald, Rogue, and some others, including the little girl from their group, and sat down with them. "Hey guys. Have we figured out plans for breakfast yet?" She was starting to wonder if she might be able to pay for food with the gold she was still carrying around from their pirate adventure. Gold might not be worth much in Extremus, but still... or, if she really had to, she could give up her dagger. It was high quality, and if she kept the gold she could use it to buy a new knife when she got back home.

Sanya paused before answering Ezio's question. His lips weren't matching up to the sounds he was making. Was this man speaking a different language? And if so, would all languages be translated automatically?

He decided to test the idea. "Yes, i have indeed experienced the same thing," he replied in his native Russian. "Though I do not know how I came to be here." Sanya paused for a moment, it appeared that everyone could understand him perfectly. "I was resting in a church in Wisconsin, and I fell asleep. When i awoke, i was standing in this strange town instead of lying in bed."

"...A robot?" Katsuya asked quietly, sounding just a little surprised. Having left his firearm to rest, he was standing straight again, watching the machine in the window with a relieved look. With all the strange things happening in Sumaru, and now here, a robot seemed almost normal. He turned a little to look at May, nodding lightly. "Good morning." He said with the same polite tone as before. He then looked to the little machine again, watching curiously as it introduced itself.

Gene gave what sounded like a grunt of acknowledgement when 47 reported that there were voices coming form inside, meaning that either they were indeed up or everyone is having a bout of sleep talk. "Good thing, I guess. I'm not used to waking at the dawn," Of mankind, Gene wanted to add at the end, because it certainly felt like it "so I wouldn't know" As if to prove his point a yawn managed to sneak out of him before he clampped it down. "Probably best to wait for them"

As he leaned on the wall of the hallway he looked over to see if anyone else was braving the new day she spotted someone else he wasn't familular with. Was she with them yesterday? He couldn't remember, but that was no reason to be unfriendly (or at least appear unfriendly) "Morning" He said with a simple wave to the new girl, seeing that she probably wasn't the talking type and that was all he needed to say for now.

Griff left the shop, saying that he'll think about staying or something like that. The demon had gone to the inn where everyone was at, and helped out around the inn to earn his keep. He had somewhat of a good sleep, but not as good as the sleep in King Dedede's castle. The beds certainly were nothing to write home about. He doubted he'll ever be that comfortable again. His sleep was dreamless and he eventually woke up. Griff went downstairs and saw some of his comrades already down there. "Good morning." He greeted. The person who was with Jim and Sandy was there with them, along with someone else. Answering his question, "Yes, it's how people get transported to this wasteland."
