I assume he's going to point out exactly what's wrong with walking up to some random adversary and spouting some cliche line about how "you'll never understand" something or other.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

You know, it just occurred to me to be curious where Obsidian came from. The only disaster masters we've seen so far with underlings were Rosemaster, who befriended/recruited people that already existed, and Glitchmaster, who recruited a person who already exists. Recursive minions just don't seem to have been NK's thing.

(Nonsentient plants don't count, and we haven't been given a reason yet to think Quakemaster's other mooks are more than mindless golems.)

But Obsidian seems way too thematically linked to Quakemaster to be a coincidence. He also has been implied (though not really shown?) to be strong even on his own, and the power of the masters is supposed to be on a curve. So did Quakemaster actually create Obsidian? And more importantly, did he create Obsidian within the last few weeks, or has he been dragging this minion along with him for dozens of thousand-year-cycles? I'm hoping it's the latter, and that he's quite attached to his minion. That'd be the most interesting direction for the plot.

That looked less like a change of heart and more like a change of spine.

Started to read this comic. Read up to 180 pages now.

So far loving it. Never seen any webcomic or manga with this fluffy and cute art style and tone. Hell, even the Nightmare Knight is pretty cute too, I'd say.

An interesting theory just came to me while I was cooking dinner. I've thought ever since the end of the Noisemaster arc that the Dream Oracle was really suspicious, not least of all because she must have sabotaged any attempts to stop the orbs being reunited for things to recur on a schedule. And the fact that she immediately tried to claim credit implies that she already knew the NK was good.

But it suddenly hit me: Look at her name. "Dream" Oracle. It practically screams that her origins are connected to the Nightmare Knight. Wouldn't it be convenient to have a servant whose job is to make sure you don't stay dead, and who the public doesn't think is on your side? And if she was made after his change of heart, he could have told her the truth before she became too invested in the outcome.

I don't think she knows. She's afraid of him.

I guess if she doesn't think he's secretly good, but she recognized that he cast the shield, she'd still have motivation to take credit. And all her other actions remain consistent.

In my theory she's just scared in that one scene because the boss looks pissed off.
