Character Development Thread--Discussion

Ladytanuki haven't responded yet, so I think it's fair to say her characters are out. That leaves me, apocalemur, Miss_Desperado, Pyxo and Wolf in the Scar/Wagon group. If I remember correctly, our characters have just stopped panicking and are in the process of introducing themselves.

For the most part that's true, though Ozurr is still jumpy about Sindar.

By the way, I believe you're up in the Wasteland group, Miss. The order of things has gotten a little wonky, but everyone else has posted since your last post.

I'm working on it, got a mild case of writer's block.

I'm also dealing with writer's block. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Anyway, I got a chuckle out of John's musing that everyone's over 15: Nerea is approximately 288; Lerna is over 3000 years old (though she spent a good chunk of that as a disembodied head under a rock). Neither look a day over 30.

I think the thread's caught up in a tangle of blocks and general busyness.

I mean, I've got final stuff to work on anyway, so it shouldn't bother me, but I'm always wanting for more distractions

and Well, when it comes to lifespans, aging and developmental milestones, it's not easy because different species will have disparities that won't match up neatly with each other.

I think my writer's block is broken, but I hope declaring so won't jinx it.

So Varla's power is to make people too horny to fight?

Yup, that's pretty much what it boils down to. Though Varla is adamant that a) anyone can do what she was programmed to do even if they don't have magic and b) sexual behavior is a different kind of warfare anyway.

Well, I'm not really sure if Wolfe wants to go ahead in the forest or not (and I don't want to bother him since he's dealing with so much like he said before), so in the meantime, if you guys are interested, I have updated pages for both my villains and for the Not-Chaos-Hunters (well, the first four because Amy and Maya don't appear until the next book). Hope y'all like it!

I'm in the midst of trying to get those cram-on-finals gears turning, so I probably wouldn't be prompt on posting anyway. Not until Tuesday, I reckon.

Though not able to commit to participating in the threads given how many times that hasn't panned out lately.

Hi all

Had hoped to get some writing done today but I just got a double metaphorical kick in the balls on top of the "delightful" news on 1 December that I have 90 days to move myself and my family out.

First, the place I thought I would be able to move into has fallen through, so I need to find someplace else.

Second, it appears that my current, soon-to-be-ex-, landlord has been telling people that he has no intention of providing me with a reference, which will make it practically impossible to get another place.

So now I'm doing the mental equivalent of curling into a protective ball and recalling that at this time last year I had a shitty Christmas period and a shitty New Year due to the actions of a cunt of a manager.

So that's two Christmas/New Year breaks in a row where unexpected crap is dumped on me and extends into the following year. Because Christmas/End of Year isn't stressful enough by itself and needs to have someone be a complete and utter cunt to "round it off".

As you may gather from the content, if not the language, I'm not in any fit state to write anything.

I'm here. Was gonna post yesterday, but had to visit my mom in the hospital. (She had a bit of a scare, but she'll be fine.)

Also, I'm rather amused by the parallels in the two parts of the post; both are about the importance of controlling information to prevent adversaries from properly deducing one's next move.

Well, got a post done. I will try to find and attend to all locations that I am needed in a hopefully timely manner.
