Thanks! Couldn't very well let something like that slip by when all I needed to do was edit a few pixels.
You forgot Librarian too. Though I don't remember if we ever saw what his Pokémon form was.
Do not fear power... fear those who wield it.Isn't A a Bisharp?
Either that or a Pawniard.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Derp. Yeah, she's probably not evolved.
I thought she was a Pawniard. I'll add her to the sheet, then. Along with Librarian (Who I could have sworn was a Lucario).
Friggin' router ate a post. Anyway, excellent work Luke and congrats on the nifty details.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? Thanks Silent. I do try. ;)
So, if we do a battle a day, we should have the MST arc start Friday/Saturday-ish?
Yeah, that's probably the best time to start it.
So, to keep the timeplane mechanics straight...
- Every PC and most mons (barring divergent history) have counterparts in the AU. (Some counterpart mons may never be encountered in this timeline, though.)
- "Constants" and/or Minds of Crystal keep their memories and borrow their counterpart self; the former can then wake up their Trainer/team, who then also borrow their counterpart body.
- After time is fixed, we return to our bodies in the proper timeline, with memories of the part of the AU we were awake for and possibly some context memories. Our counterparts likewise remember the arc events, and possibly get some context memories of our timeline so as to not be too confused.
- Some mons go to the AU physically instead of borrowing their counterpart self:
- Shaun(?), Nadia, and Vlad fall through a crack in time
- Lake and Luke's team do the same, but also a crack in space, leading Lake to Johto and the rest to Unova
- Anom's Volcarona hides in the spoilertext while time rewrites
Is this mostly correct?
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? If Lake's going to be in Johto, then who's going to pull Jane out of her swamp?
Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonI might have Star be in Hoenn (still working on backstory here), so If she sees Jane after reverting to normal, she might be able to (provided non-Minds of crystal can do this ).
Also....I feel like I'm being really inconsistent with Star's Characterization. Maybe I'm just reading what I wrote wrong, or putting too much thought into this as usual.
Ooh...Awkward.
Maybe he could end up in Hoenn briefly via time tunnel, and he manages to convince you to help him before using the tunnels to get to Johto. Does that work?
The AU tribe has space tunnels, Luke. Which are more useful for what you want anyways, but terminology.
(What silly artifact of Palkia's do they have, then? A toothbrush like our side's?)
So yeah, I was posting to try and make sure we've ironed this out before next week.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Oh yes, Space tunnels. That makes more sense. Heh.
Sounds about right except for one thing. Constants don't keep their memories. A "Constant" is just someone or something (almost always someone) that is very important to the time-traveller. Probably the most important thing. Running into your Constant in the AU will have the effect of snapping your memory back to the original timeline (perhaps instantaneously, perhaps not. It depends on the person), since that's where all your memories of them are. Some of them (like Lake) may already have their memories back, while others do not. These may come back when they meet whoever's Constant they are, as that person is likely also their own Constant.
If that makes any sense at all.
EDIT: Star, don't worry about your characterization too much. You're still pretty new and hammering out your personality. It'll settle into something eventually.

EDIT:Never mind, I said something stupid.

so, unless you're one of the few exceptions, none of the grinding/captures/achievements/or character development you recieved in this continuity transfers over to the alternate one, and quite possibly some that you have from an undeterminable time prior to joining the group, correct?
There is no night without dawn. The sun is always sure to rise.I think you could still have certain achievments, provided The group isn't involved. No one met each other, so no group. so, for Casval, He could still be involved with Team Plasma and such, but anything that was directly caused by him being in the group doesn't happen.
...Speaking of which, if the group didn't meet each other, what happened with Missing No?

Missingno. and 'M never existed in the alternate timeline.
Oh, and since Reshiram and Zekrom were never awakened in the alternate timeline, we can assume that Team Plasma were unable to find either of the Light or Dark stones in it.

The concept of a Constant is still fuzzy to me. From the "most important thing" definition and from this:
I take it that the Constants are forcibly one of the following:
- objects/persons/mons who have managed to cross the AU barrier (like Vlad, Nadia, ...). If done mentally, that means those characters have replaced the AU timeline ones, right?
- knowledge/events related to the characters that are tightly defined and associated to the characters, but removed from "normal" ocurrence or instance in the AU continuity (like, say, Luke never ever having beaten Red).
- removed, redundant with the above
Any other way I don't see why meeting one day, say, AU!Maekrite would send AU!Silent back to the RL!timecoordinated-mind, if the most important thing for AU!Silent is, and from a timecoordinate-continuity perspective has always been, AU!Maekrite who he has met his entire (Trainer) life, not RP!Maekrite. AU!Silent would have to learn somehow that the Maekrite he knows is replaced by another one that he "should have cared" for the most, sort of... ¿?
In that way, awakening memories from RP!timeline to a AU!person would only make sense if it is done in a sorta infectious manner by the ones who have the Body Part of Important Symbology.

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?...
I'm going to be straight with you, Silent. I think you're overthinking this. Because I did not understand any of that.
Basically, you get your memories back when something happens that corresponds to a significant event in the regular timeline. For many people, that would be meeting one of their Pokemon (Luke and Lake, for example), but it doesn't have to be. It could be another person, or even an object.
I think the question is how a meeting between two figures that belong in the AU!Verse is supposed to elicit RP!Memories... For instance... Let's suppose that AU!Luke happens to meet AU!Lake one day in AU!Johto (who IIRC Luke has said will be his rival's Pokemon in this continuity)... Why should meeting AU!Lake on some random day be enough to trigger one or the other's memories if there's nothing out of the ordinary about their meeting...? At least... I think that's what the question is...
