Marcus Dunstan is directing Halloween Returns, a loose sequel featuring Michael Myers escaping from death row to kill again. It begins filming next month.
*GAAAAAASSSSSSSSPPPP!!!* DOUBLE POST!!!
I think the Halloween franchise just needs a swift death. Everything that could be milked out of that series has already been. Or maybe they need to continue the anthology idea that Carpenter originally wanted...
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Speaking of Halloween, I watched two ripoffs: Offerings and Trick or Treats. Spoiler alert: they both sucked, especially the latter (over an hour of fakeouts and pranks? Screw you).
I think three weeks later(as opposed to a day) with actual news to report is reason enough for another post.
I never saw Trick or Treats. But Offerings does indeed suck. Great poster and tagline, however.
The Mutilator comes to Blu-ray in September. At last.

I wouldn't call them "ripoffs" so much as they are just other slasher films taking place on Halloween.
Could you give me permission to read your blog? Pretty please?
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Whoot, finally saw Charlie's Farm.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I had somehow never even heard of it until this post. Now I want to watch it.
As far as I'm concerned, the blog isn't fit for human consumption at this time. So, no. One day it will be public again.
A handful of slashers coming down the pike are heading to VOD. They look pretty fun. Cub, Lost After Dark, Headless. Gutterballs 2: Balls Deep had a world premiere, but it doesn't sound like anybody attended; I've only seen one review.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxCBkqiFA_g Trailer!
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I don't know if you guys ever saw Sweatshop, but wow does that movie have some of the most killable characters I've ever seen. They are just annoying.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?Yes. It made the gore far more glorious, and it was already pretty glorious.
Agreed. So glorious. I'm surprised that they made the ending as chilling as they did though. That was rather effective.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?I found it more blackly comedic than anything. All it needed was a nonchalant whistle as the character walked off.
Oh man that would've made the movie.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?In memory of late Slasherpool website, I watched Bloody Murder and its sequel. Turns out that they were as bad as the site proclaimed.
Before you can ask, they are the only movies that I remember the site mentioning, so that's why I watched them.
The first one is pretty much crap, but the sequel I found...uh...not total crap? Certainly not good.
Blood Rage and The Mutilator both arrive on Blu-ray September 29th in the US.
I kind of liked the sequel...
There were two other pseudo-installments called The Graveyard and Adam & Evil.
And Slasherpool's reviews always felt a little... off to me.
Can anyone name any particularly memorable slasher/horror villains that aren't:
- Jason
- Michael Myers
- Freddy
- Candyman
- Leprechaun
- Pinhead
- Ghostface
- Predator
- or Chucky?
You forgot the Xenomorph^^
Ahh. No.
And as far as I'm concerned, the Predator doesn't count either.
I agree with you, but I was trying to take his perspective. If he thinks the Predator counts then so should the Xenomorph.
Jack Frost?
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? That one used car salesman; he's been slashing prices since 1993!
@Soble: The Miner. The Miner all the way.
"Somehow the hated have to walk a tightrope, while those who hate do not."Smiley and Three-Fingers ? :p Please don't pull the forks I am kidding!

I watched Houseboat Horror. Everybody seems to hate it, but I kind of enjoyed it. Very typical, very gory. Frankly, it's one of the more professional-looking shot-on-tape productions I've seen.
