I mean, its something that adds a little contention to their rivalry, playfully calling each other the imposter.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Plot twist: they're both imposters.
Everyone else is a crewmate.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Sonic constantly dissing Shadow in Archie is something that I vastly enjoyed. "Leave the brooding to Shadow" is actually something that makes me laugh.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.It makes a bit more sense why Shadow treats him like shit now.
Stop...no more...I can't....I see it, everywhere. Always...can't escape...Among us....

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Sonic was only calling Shadow a faker because he was blamed for his crimes in SA 2. Metal Sonic, however?
He knows what to expect of him, which isn't going to help since he's also know what to expect of him.
Quite queer, I say.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. It's funny, cause I'm pretty sure I've seen a fanfic that was literally just "Sonic and friends play Among Us."
Edit: No, wait. It was fanart.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I wonder why Eggman kidnapped Vanilla in Sonic Adventure 2 anyway
"I don't usually go into the kidnapping game, but this burly turtle-dragon at my Bad-Anon villains support group keeps talking about how great it is to kidnap polite ladies in sun dresses, so I thought I'd give it a try."

At least he has not a furry related reason to kidnap her.
I hope.

@Tomo: Shadow could have done it to Sonic non-maliciously :V
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!A 1 hour 45 minute long analysis on Sonic's animation in every single console Sonic game ever made.
TL:DW: With some exceptions, post-Classic, the good games have bad animation (the Adventure games have really not held up) while the bad games have good animation (some of the notable highlights in the modern era being Shadow, Unleashed, Lost World, and especially Sonic Boom, which has the best character animation in the entire series, next to Mania).
The only bad games he considered having good animation were Shadow's game and Boom
The rest were bad to just average

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. This reminds me of somethig I talked about in Discord.
I believe the second season finale of Sonic Boom has a better fight scene than any in Sonic X and the games. The fight between Sonic and Shadow use good camera work, and decent choreography. It is quite funny, since I felt Boom fighting scenes were largely pointless in the first half of season 1, where they felt like padding.
I imagine that Sonic proportions make it hard to animate believable fighting scenes. Presumably this is why Sonic Prime will be 3D, since it will allow the animators an easier time drawing the odd proportioned characters.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I think the major problem is that we don't see the Sonic cast go full out martial arts in games outside of Sonic Battle and the Fighters game. At most we just get characters getting bounced around (Forces),
One of the things I love about Sonic vs Shadow and ensuing Metal Sonic fight is that they go all out with the hand to hand combat. I think some of Sonic X's fights still hold up: Sonic wakeboard racing from Perfect Sonic's waves, Shadow's assault on Team Sonic trying to murder Cosmo, heck I think Sonic vs Knuckles has better animation than Sonic vs Shadow's second round on Prison Island.
- Part of me really, really wants to see Sonic X get a anime reboot that can fix a lot of stuff that hasn't aged well because 2D can still provide a lot of creativity 3D mostly lacks to an effect. But I'm still looking forward to Sonic Prime regardless. Wild Brain did a decent job with Mega Man Fully Charged but that show had A TON of restrictions so I can't even complain about that.
At this point I realized Shadow actually defeated his nemesis in Black Doom, while Vegeta never killed Frieza....he came close but still.
- Goku-mit suicide like when you battled with Buu cuz you knew that you were gonna lose again. Alright Shadow calm down.
In other Sonic news, Ben Schwartz actually won the Hollywood Critics Association award for "Best Animated or VFX Performance" as our favorite blue blur!
And among his praise givers? Previous Sonics Roger Craig Smith and Ryan Drummond!
Sonic is officially an award-winning movie.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Good for him! It's kind of funny I thought this movie was going to be the end of Sonic after the first trailer came out.
I'm glad things went ok with the blue blur.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. That redesign probably quite literally saved the movie.
That and being the last big US movie release in theaters before Covid hit.
darkabomination, I can never tell if it's just me or not, but the picture by your avatar's signature seems to be broken and stretches the page.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It's been an issue for a while, you should seriously change it.

Sonic doesn't really treat Shadow like a faker, tbh. That's in Archie where Flynn, being the fandom inspired writer he was at the time, would turn this into Sonic's Running Gag of calling him an imposter (alongside saying anyone brooding is "pulling a Shad").
Either it grew old, or Sega told him to drop it.
