Volcarona: <Yeah, you could say that.>

-Volcarona backs up a little, preparing to slip away-

-Snowman floats over to Volcarona and puffs Cigarette smoke into her face-

<Snowman>: <If you think about warping away~ I can follow your trails throughout the Space-Time continuum~ So I could hunt you down and kill you if it pleases me~>

-Snowman sighs-

<Snowman>: <But going on a wild goose chase through Paradox-Space dasn't really sound attractive to me right now so I'll hold it off>

-Snowman lands on the ground and starts walking away from Volcarona-

<Snowman>: <I'll be leaving now. Hopefully you can warp away in time... Goodbye, Anom's Volcarona...>

-Snowman warps away and the rest of the Midori Room Pokemon lunge for Volcarona-

-Volcarona blows a raspberry before disappearing-

-While picking up and carting off the destroyed television-

"Ugh... At least I've got a computer monitor that should work for now..."

-Thinking-

"... What on earth do I do?! Those three are supposed to be my Pokemon! But... I don't remember a thing about them! And I already have these twelve! And even if this isn't how things were meant to be, we've gone through enough together that it might as well have been the way they were!"

-Aside-

<Nadia: "... What was that about?">

<Kyle: "Mike gets a little upset when the things that he likes get damaged... I still remember getting punched across the room for headbutting that stupid... Thing of his...">

<Toothless: "You should just consider yourself lucky that you didn't hear her...">

<Nadia: "... The doll?">

<Kyle: "... If you want to call it that, sure.">

-A pause-

<Kyle: "... How did you know that Tracer missed my evolution?">

<Nadia: "I guessed. And the same thing happened to me... He wound up missing my evolution by almost a week...">

<Kyle: "A week? Oh wow... You must have felt awful...">

<Nadia: "I did...">

<Kyle: "Why on earth did you come to look for him then? I mean, if Tracer missed my evolution by a week, I'd want nothing to do with him!">

<Toothless: "Don't you already want nothing to do with him? I mean, you didn't interact with him at all since he came back...">

<Nadia: "... A friend told me some things that made me stop and think... And made me ask myself whether or not it was worth it to keep holding a grudge against Tracer...">

<Kyle: "... What did you friend tell you?">

<Nadia: "He asked me how long I was a Salamence at the time... It was about a month after I evolved...">

<Kyle: "It's been three for me...">

<Nadia: "He then asked me if I had really only been alive for that long...">

<Kyle: "Did you tell him that he was an idiot?">

<Nadia: "More or less... But then he made me remember all of the times that Tracer was there for me before I evolved...">

<Kyle: "... Like what?">

<Nadia: "He pointed out that Tracer hatched me from an egg, that he helped to get me through a fear of Bug Pokemon when I was a hatchling, that he spent a lot of time with me after one time that I hurt myself jumping, and that he tried to make me feel proud of myself when I was a Shelgon...">

<Kyle: "... Your life actually sounds an awful lot like mine... Well... Minus the fear of Bug Pokemon... I was afraid of the dark when I was a Bagon...">

<Nadia: "My friend told me that even though that I wasn't likely to want to forgive him, that Tracer was still my friend and that as bad of a mistake that he made, he still cared about me...">

<Kyle: "... It sounds like you had a good friend... I just wish that I could hope for the same from Tracer... If you and those others are right... He'll probably just forget about us... He'll pretend that we never existed...">

<Nadia: "... If the Tracer you know is the same that I know, I can't imagine that he would do that... Deliberately... Also, you've seen the friend who told me these things.">

<Kyle: "... Was it the bug or the sheep?">

<Nadia: "Neither.">

<Toothless: "It was me.">

<Kyle: "Then who wa- ... Oh... So that's why you carry that doll around with you...">

-Aside-

<Iron Marrow: "And what is this, rube?">

<Kit: "That's a sink. And why are you so adamant about putting me down for being from Kanto? Where are you from anyways?">

<Iron Marrow: "I am Iron Marrow, one of the four elders of the Sinnoh Tribe of the Marsh, and leader of the Minute Clan. And I hail from a tribe that is more cultured and civilized than any tribe from this wretched land could ever hope to be! Or at least... It was...">

<Kit: "So was the utter lack of hospitality also a part of being from a 'cultured and civilized' tribe, or is that just you?">

<Iron Marrow: "... If we were not in the presence of so many fiends, I'd cave your skull in right now.">

<Kit: "That's wonderful to hear... Chain of Spades met you? I can only imagine how that went...">

-Has finished clearing away broken TV and installing a smaller computer monitor-

<Zoe: "... Is he alright?">

<Vesta: "I'm not sure... I think he has a lot on his mind...">

-Lets Mike back out of Pokeball-

-Sees Iron Marrow-

"I thought that you said that nothing was impossible for a Wave Guardian..."

-After passing over Sage Koji undetected (not precisely a small feat), the canine and the bird take their time to make it to the top of the Tower-

Xatu — <Here... I can hear it...>

???? — <What?> — looks around — <Where?>

Xatu — <Nothing. There is nothing to hear...>

???? — <...> — coughs — <So what do we do now? Reach for the other tower?>

-The Xatu jumps, flies around for a moment, and finally sits on the ground a couple of steps into the staircase leading to the final pilgrimage spot where the Sun God was said to rest. There, he lies in silent reverence for several minutes...-

???? — <...?>

-picking its companion's vibrations of curiosity-

Xatu — <I must meditate here, for the signs to come. Filter out the lies away from the silence.> — tilts head <You can go.>

???? (scoffs) — <No way...> — smiles and adopts a demeaning posture.

-Realizing where is is, the dog is then quick to correct himself-

???? bows to the altar — <I can't be got rid of without an adventure.>

Xatu — <Not what I mean.> — straightens head, looks up to the sky — <You need to eat, drink, rest, for I hope tomorrow you will get your next assignment.>

???? — <Oh right... I knew it from the start!> turns around, thinks for a moment... <Will you be fine here?>

Xatu — <I will. That much little into the future I have seen.>

-The Arcanine nods, turns to bow to the altar again, and leaves in silence-

-The Xatu calms his mind and prepares to spend the night in mental pilgrimage, self-flagellation and metaphysical interrogation-

That same night in Goldenrod

-Very far from there, on the Goldenrod Dept. Store An electronic device is slid that cracks the elevator system's 8192-bit key (lame by Pokéverse standards). A man accompanied by a Magneton goes down the shaft to the basement. He puts on a mask, releases a Venomoth from a Pokéball and orders her to spray sleep and paralysis powder around the basement.-

Just in case... Although an incident like that some years ago would hardly be repeated... If the documents and interview back at PEFE are still up to date, this should be the safest path...

-Three minutes pass-

Silent — Ready... Magneton, stay on the rooftop with the Nidorina squad. All leave when ready...

-Magneton makes an electric noise that its Trainer can understand, but won't admit so for the time being...-

I can do this. I know I have enough time to replace the container's contents what with the university dinner...

-Shudders-

But reaching the colony safely from there might take me the entire day, if I have to go through the flower district's sewer system...

-Runs and disappears into the night-

Pathetic. What obligation do you have to this man? You sicken me. A good trainer? Don't screw with me. A good trainer wouldn't keep Pokemon captive in the first place.

The Sudowoodo stood firmly in front of Casval.

Enough, take him and leave.

Casval turned and ventured deeper into the cave.

-Drake finishes the song, notices no difference in the room and heads back up to the office-

Drake: <Do you think that a small rewrite of the second verse would have helped?>

Altair: <You know that rewrites don't work.>

Drake: <I know. But the new bit is quite nice. Do you want me to sing it?>

Altair: <Might as well.>

Drake: -Hums out the first few notes before the second verse- #Mother, her armies slain, taking a last stand to defend, all the dragons in her den. Mother, the war has just begun, and to throw your self away, a sacrafice though not in vain...# -Hums out a few more notes then stops- <How was it?>

Altair: <Nice. If Mother were awake I think she would enjoy that bit.>

Drake: -Takes the rare moment to smile- <Thank you.>

-Pats Tracer's shoulder-

I can feel your turmoil my friend. Don't worry, I'm here to help you.

-To Tagg-

<Aloysius: "I'll be up on the upstairs porch. It's the only place that I can sleep safely outside of my Pokeball anyways. There might be room for a second Pokemon about my size up there if someone wants to take it...">

<Zoe: "We should be able to squeeze another Pokemon onto one of the couches down here too...">

-To Iron Marrow-

<Kit: "... I suppose that I can let you stay in my normal place. I'll find another heating vent to sleep by...">

<Iron Marrow: "Nice to see that your kind still knows how to respect its elders... As backwards and uncultured as they are...">

<Kit: "... It's too late for this...">

"I think that my room should be able to handle another Pokemon... I think that it should be able to handle any of the Pokemon here... Though some of the larger ones might be a tight squeeze..."

<Kammy: "(*yawn*) We should really get some sleep now...">

<Pascal: "Yeah, man... (*yawn*) Let's call it a day...">

-House begins winding down as everyone heads off to find places to sleep-

-Nadia is waiting for Lake on his island-

<Nadia: "... I should just give up, shouldn't I?">

<Toothless: "I can't say whether this is a good idea or not for you to stay here the entire night, Nadia... But I'm sure that if Lake comes, he'll every bit as much support as you will...">

<Nadia: "...">

<Toothless: "It's your decision, Nadia... I'll be there with you no matter what you choose.">

-Still further elsewhere-

-Shaun and Vlad are together-

<Vlad: "... I can't believe this... We're really alone...">

<Shaun: "... I know...">

<Vlad: "I just wish that we could find someone... Anyone here...">

<Shaun: "... Maybe we can.">

<Vlad: "Huh?">

<Shaun: "Well... This is a world of dreams.. Maybe we can find some of the Pokemon that we would have met in our time... Even if it wouldn't be the same...">

Random Group of Pokémon: <Yay.>

Chase: <Good night, then.> (hops off)

Random Pokémon in the crowd: <At least those Pokémon that were sent to Pinwheel forest or are currently out on other missions don't have to deal with that Unfeazent...>

Another Random Pokémon: <Yeah... He's nice, but can't he loosen up a bit?> (yawns) <Well... Better hurry up and get to sleep, like he said, we will have to work hard again tomorrow.>

- The various Pokémon go off to get some sleep -

-Drake Palmer gets ready for bed. He glances out the window for a moment-

Drake: <Hopefully we won't have another messenger for a while...>

-He settles and has the lights dim before falling asleep-

-So that was is? Everything he had been through together with Luke had just been wiped out? Gone? ...Is that what Dialga had done?

Lake was begin to develop and idea of what was happening. Granted, he didn't have enough evidence to back this claim up yet, though. But that was nothing a few questions couldn't solve.-

Lake: <...What happened on Luke's journey.>

Meganium: -Thinks.- <Well, from what I heard, it started of pretty normally. But things got a bit more complicated when he reached Azalea Town.>

Lake: <He drove Team Rocket out of the Slowpoke Well, didn't he?>

Meganium: <Yes, that's exactly what happened! How did you-?>

Lake: <I was there, remember? At least, I should have been.>

Meganium: <Right. Then sometime afterwards in Ecruteak->

Lake: <He went into the Brass Tower and met the Legendary Beasts.>

Meganium: <Again, yes. He met the Legendary Beasts. I remember that distinctively because I recall he said that they were "Very strange.">

-Very strange? Lake would hardly call the Johto beasts strange. The Oblivia beasts...Well, maybe. But not their Johto counterparts.-

Meganium: So then->

Lake: <-Luke went to Cianwood and brought a cure back for Ampgy the Lighthouse Ampharos, didn't he?>

Meganium: <...How did you-?>

Lake: <Then he went to the Lake of Rage and caught a rampaging Red Gyarados, before helping Lance infiltrate the Team Rocket base there.>

Meganium: <...>

Lake: <But then Team Rocket took over the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City, but he drove them out, finally putting a stop to them once and for all. Well, we think so.>

Meganium: <Yes...>

Lake: <But the Radio Tower director gave him something for his help. A Rainbow Feather. And after beating the Blackthorn City gym, the Ecruteak Kimono girls summoned him to help them with something, didn't they?>

Meganium: -Nods.-

Lake: <So he climbed the Tin Tower, and the Kimono Girls preformed a summoning ritual, and then...Ho-oh came.>

Meganium: <...No.>

Lake: <What? he didn't go to the Tin Tower?>

Meganium: <No, he went to the Tin Tower alright. But...>

Lake: <...But?>

Meganium: <Ho-oh...Never came.>

-Shocked, Lake said nothing. His jaw hanging a-gape in utter shock. Hiw worst fears had now been pretty much confirmed. Now he knew.

Dialga hadn't wiped the timeline.

He had changed it.-

- At the castle, Artemis is already asleep in her room -

- Mira quietly enters the room, sitting down to watch the Liepard sleep -

Mira: (thinking) ... My queen... My powerful, beautiful queen...

- Mira carefully reaches out her paw, scratching the sleeping Liepard behind the ears. Artemis seems to like that as she begins purring contently, Mira can't help but smile at this -

Mira: (thinking) ... I wonder how I can ever express how I really feel about her. I have never really been the overly emotional type... I have pledged my loyalty to her, sworn that I will do anything to protect her, but... Is that really enough to show my feelings?

- Mira thinks to herself for a moment -

Mira: ... I wonder if she feels the same way about me... No, wait. I know she feels the same way, somehow I just know. (quietly sighs) But, even knowing that the feeling is mutual... I still do not know how to tell her.

- Mira begins quietly walking away, glancing over at Artemis one more time before leaving the room -

Mira: Maybe... I will be able to tell her my feelings when the time is right... Whenever that will be.

- Mira leaves the room -

Meanwhile in Pinwheel Forest

-Michelle has stabbed a Zoroark Scout in the gut with her Kukuri Knife-

<Michelle>: <CONTACT!>

-Michelle's battalion jump out of their hiding places and ambush the squadren sent for them and a small scale Guerilla war breaks out. With Pokemon stabbing, cutting, clubbing, beating, shooting and sniping eachother-

<Michelle>: -After taking out a Houndoom- <KAMINA! NOW!>

-The Krookadile charges at an unsuspecting Escavalier and Accelgor-

[Kamina]: [YAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!]

-Kamina slams into them, knocking into a Side Closing Trap. The battle is getting more intense by the second-

<Michelle>: -Has ducked away to find another comrade- <Roderich! Lure some of these guys into the traps we set up earlier!>

~Roderich~ ~Yes Ma'am!~

-Roderich darts into the open, grabbing the attention of a group of Pokemon, before darting in a Zig-zagged patteren into the bush. The group that followed him into the forest were snared and trapped in the covered traps layed there earlier-

<Michelle>: -Rams her Kukuri blade into a head of a distracted Druddigon- <Keep pushing them forward fellow mons!>

-The invading squad is starting to falter, but so is the resistance battalion-

<Michelle>: -Taking cover- I hope the back-ups from the main resistance come here quickly! I don't know how long we can keep pushing the back!

And now I have to sleep. Night guys

Female Clefable: <Hey, Ledian? Thanks for helping us get past those patrols around the desert and Castelia city!>

Male Ledian: <No problem. I couldn't let those idiots stop us from reaching the ones who need us.>

Zebstrika: <Let's do this!>

- The team consisting of the Zebstrika, Clefable, Ledian, a male Watchog, a female Jumpluff, a female Swoobat, a male Sawsbuck and two female Audino head over to assist the Pokémon of Pinwheel forest in an epic off-screen battle -
