"That works for me," Mitchell says to Hoops, before draining the last of his coffee. Then, turning to Xaster, he says "If you're okay with battling me, I'll go wherever you choose. My team and I will give it our all, and we'll learn and have fun, win or lose!" He then catches himself, as he remembers the attitude of one of his Pokemon. "Well, there's one who might have a problem with it," he admits. "He's a bit competitive at times."
Eterna City, The Other Day
Xaster casts a furious glance at Hoops before answering. "Well, uh, yeah, I guess it would help me as well. And I don't really mind losing, Hoops says that accepting loss is one of the most important lessons you can learn."
"Because my inability to do so made me make a colossal mistake that almost cost me half my team," Hoops explains. "Now, come on you two, finish your breakfasts and we'll get started."

Mitchell is taken aback by Hoops' grim statement, but he thinks better of making a comment on it. Instead, acknowledges Hoops' request by saying "Okay!" and tucking into what remained of his breakfast.
Soon, Mitchell's plate was polished clean. He secretly prepares a tip of 20% of the cost of his breakfast in his off hand, just like Dad taught him, and then checked on Hoops and Xaster. "Are we all set?", he asks.

"We are all set," Hoops confirms.
The group soon finds themselves in one of the many small battlefields that is set up around town. Xaster heads to one end and gestures Mitchell to go to the other, while Hoops steps up to the referee position.
"I'll be the judge in this one," they explain. "Mitchell, you said you have three pokémon, right? Are you okay with a three on three battle?"

Mitchell paces backwards, to the end of the battlefield opposite Xaster. As he does so, he says to Hoops "A three-on-three is fine with me. Whether it's singles, doubles, triples, or rotation, we'll adapt. By the way," he adds, "I did say that I caught three Pokemon in Sinnoh. Those three will be your opponents, Xaster. As for Gav,-"
Before Mitchell could finish, Gav popped out of his Pokeball and stood to Mitchell's left. <I'll cheer Boss and the others on from over here.>, he says.
"What he said, whatever it was," Mitchell says. Then, taking the miniature forms of the remaining three occupied Pokeballs into his left hand, he assumes a tense stance. "Mitchell Rhodes is ready to fight!" he says, over-dramatically.
Roxy stepped in, she saw Silas working over the black and gold tux of Coyote. She blinked and stepped over. "Everything okay?"
"Doing just fine, just working on a little something, patching some holes and improving the armor weave."
Roxy tilted her head. "Does Coyote really need that?"
Silas let out a bit of a smirk, undid his ponytail and shook his head a bit. His posture changed and he let out a low chuckle.
"I dunno love? Why don't you ask him yourself?" He responded in the smooth galarian tone.
Roxy's face turned a little red. "Siiilaaas..."
He smirked. "It's good ain't it? So easy to just let Coyote take command?"
Roxy pouted a little, Silas sighed and returned to his usual slump. "Better?"
"Better."
The two stood there for a moment. "Does Alice know how easy it is for you to assume the role of Coyote?" "Yes."

"One of these rooms has a little box," she summarized. "Find it if you can. Stay hidden."
He bowed and dashed off.

Maxime uneasily made his way into the large city. He's left Unova several weeks ago to go on a personal journey, and heard that a certain group of people, with experience from all around the world, were currently in Sinnoh. Maxime figured that finding this group could help him figure out his journey. Kliff, Maxime's Clefable, followed Maxime outside of his pokeball. He was looking around too, though less taking in the sights and more keeping an eye out for danger.

The Emissary of Darkness Cometh! (6)
As the stylus forms a loop around the Nidorino- DARKNESS💀DEVIL not doing anything to stop it, at least- while the 'mon struggles to get out of the bubble (it does not appear he expected to end up in here at all!), Alyssa can... understand, so to speak, Pungiglione. And at first... there's nothing.
The Nidorino, enveloped by the shining loop, seems already placated. Here, where his trainer's voice cannot reach, Pungiglione does not seem very hostile: definitely not 'the steed of calamity' or whatever DARKNESS💀DEVIL said earlier. Yet, after they look at him, raising an eyebrow, Alyssa can hear (hear? feel? can you even use a specific verb here?) a roar, and then-
"You...! You are here. Why? Just defeat the evil trainer in front of you and claim victory!"
Oreburgh Streets
-Hailee dashes through the streets, making her way to the Gym-
Hailee: 'Scuse me! Coming through!
-She eventually reaches the Gym-
Hailee: Okay, Whew. I'm finally here. Now, if I wanna make a good first impression to the League Challenge, I'll need to enter civilised.
-Hailee slams the door open-
Hailee: Oh, Gym Leader! I'm here to battle you!

Gym Guide: Well, uh, seems you have yet another challenger, Roark! How nice!
Roark: Hmm. That entrance was... abrupt, to say the least, but I get this strange feeling just looking at you. You've got potential. How 'bout we battle, see what you've got.
Hailee: Alright! Let's do this!
Roark: Now, before we begin, how many badges do you have?
Hailee: Uhh... zero?
Roark: I see. Well then, I'll use these 3 Pokemon.
-Hailee and Roark get on the battlefield, with Hailee taking the left side and Roark taking the right side-
Gym Guide: This battle will be a 3v3. Only the Challenger may switch out their Pokemon. The Gym Leader will use Pokemon which scale to the challenger's skill level, aka how many badges they have. Now, let Gym Challenger Hailee vs Gym Leader Roark begin!
Roark: Alright, go, Larvitar!
Hailee: Let's do this, Banjo!
-Roark sends out his Larvitar, while Hailee sends out Banjo-
Roark: A Galar Pokemon, huh? Well, don't expect to win just because you have a Pokemon not native to Sinnoh! Now, Larvitar! Rock Slide!
Larvitar: Time for you to see what a Gym Leader's Pokemon is made of!
Hailee: Banjo! You ok?
-Banjo gets up after that Rock Slide-
Banjo: Yup! It was just one attack, not like I'm a Magikarp who gets one-shot by everything!
Hailee: Okay, now, trip up that Larvitar!
Banjo: Got it! This will be fun.
-Banjo begins leaping around, performing some kind of dance-

Roark: Challenger Hailee, I must say I'm impressed so far. You're a lot stronger than you look. But this battle's only just begun!
Hailee: Yup! And my goal in this battle is to give it my all and get that Coal Badge!

<You know> Kec says. <If I had a pokedollar for every time one of you suddenly turned into a dark and monstrous creature in the last week, I'd have two pokedollars. Which isn't all that much but it's weird that it happened twice, right?>
Hoops grabs Kec and pulls him away from Xaster. "Quip later! Xaster, what's going on, buddy?"
Eterna City, The Other Day
"Okay." Hoops raises their arms to signal the start of the battle. "This will be a three on three pokémon battle, where each trainer will be allowed to use one pokémon at a time. However, there is a special rule in place - you lose if even one of your pokémon is knocked unconscious. You'll have to strategise and substitute if you want to win."
Xaster frowns. "We couldn't have just had a normal battle?"
"Battle begin!"
He sighs and resigns himself to the battle. "In that case, ChuChu, I choose you!" He throws the pokéball into the air, releasing his Pichu.

Gav is surprised at the special rule that Hoops announced for the battle. <Careful, Boss,> he says to Mitchell. <This guy might have a plan for exploiting this rule.>
"I'll be careful," Mitchell replies, having understood none of Gav's words, yet sensing his concern. Then, he selects one of the Pokeballs in his hand, enlarges it, and prepares to throw. "Remind me to congratulate you," he says to Xaster, "once you've beaten me. Now, Rebecca," he cries, as he throws the Pokeball underhand. "Appear!"
A Cleffa emerges from the Pokeball and lands inside the battlefield, exactly opposite Xaster's ChuChu. <Heyas!>, she says, hopping back and forth on her feet. <It's your fav, Becky the Cleffa, here to give you all smiles!> She then addresses ChuChu directly, saying <You ready for some fun? 'Cause I am!>
<A bit much with the peppy mood, are we?>, Gav grumbles.
Mitchell claps his now-empty hands together. "Now, Rebecca," he orders. "Stand by and wait for ChuChu's move, please."
<Kay kay, Chief!>, Becky replies, before planting both her feet on the ground and smiling cheerily at ChuChu.
Eterna City, The Other Day
"Okay," Xaster says, thinking back to some of his earliest lessons with Hoops. "Victory goes to the one that strikes first, right? ChuChu, use Nuzzle!
ChuChu's cheeks crackle with electricity as he runs forwards with his arms spread wide, as though to offer a hug.

Mitchell sees ChuChu's electrifying advance, and he tries to warn Becky. "Rebecca", he says. "Dodge that attack and-"
Unfortunately, ChuChu crossed the gap between him and Becky before Mitchell could finish his command. The moment his cheek touched her body, lightning surged into her. <AAAAAAA!>, she screamed. <SHOCKIIIIIING!>
Gav winces in sympathy. Getting hit with electricity is never fun, in his opinion.
"Never mind, just Pound him off you," Mitchell, orders. "Quickly!"
Becky, her body trembling from the onset of paralysis, nonetheless obeys Mitchell's order, swinging back her right and trying to strike ChuChu with it.
Eterna City, The Other Day
ChuChu is so busy jumping up and down with pride at landing the attack that he doesn't hear Xaster yelling at him to dodge. He takes the Pound attack to the face and rolls backwards several times before coming to a stop.
"Use Thundershock!" Xaster yells. ChuChu gets to his feet and focuses on generating electricity, before sending a small bolt of lightning (that more resembles the spark of putting a plug into a socket) towards Rebecca.

"All right, Rebecca!", Mitchell cheers. "Now, use Disarming Voice, before ChuChu gets close!"
Becky gives the approximation of a thumbs up and a strained smile to Mitchell, then breathes in to let loose her cry. She was slowed enough by her paralysis, however, that at the moment she unleashed her Disarming Voice, she was struck by ChuChu's Thundershock, causing her voice to jump an octave upwards.
Both Mitchell and Gav reflexively cover their ears when the sound of Becky's cry hits them.
Eterna City, The Other Day
Hoops and Xaster also cover their ears to protect themselves from the sound of Disarming Voice - however, as a combatant ChuChu takes the force of the attack, which sends him sprawling.
Xaster grimaces. "ChuChu, return for now." He returns the small pokémon then grabs another ball. ChiChi, let's go!" He calls out his Chingling, who makes a ringing sound.
"Use Confusion!" ChiChi unleashes a small shockwave of psychic energy.
Person, or Idea?
Mitchell, Gav, and Becky all see what ChiChi is about to do, as someone they know has a similar technique. "Dodge, Rebecca!", Mitchell says. "You've got this!"
<And a one, two, and *hurgh*!>, Becky says, as her attempt to stylishly dodge the Confusion wave is foiled by her body seizing from paralysis. She takes the shockwave head on, and though she still smiles defiantly, she knows she's hanging on to consciousness by a thread.
<Pull her out, quickly!>, Gav cries to Mitchell.
For once, Mitchell was thinking the same thing as Gav. "That's good enough, Becky. Return!", he says, drawing the Cleffa back into her Pokeball. Then, he switches to another Pokeball and throws it out underhand, saying "Now, Christine. Descend!"
A Chingling emerges from the Pokeball and hovers opposite ChiChi, giving a ceremonial ring. <Um, hi there,>, she says, <It's nice seeing another Chingling outside our tribal home.>
"We can talk after," Mitchell says, "since we're battling now. Christine, please Wrap up ChiChi for now, please."
<O-okay, Savior,>, Christine replies, before extending her biological ribbons in an attempt to ensnare ChiChi. <Please forgive me.>, she whispers.

-Ian picks up the Shell Stone that the Drilbur dropped.-

-Marian gestures toward the big screen where 8 cards are shuffling before the big reveal of the Coordinators whose performances were enough to help them move on to the next round. Then the cards move into their positions and flash, revealing the faces of those successful coordinators; Among them are Ian, Evelyn, Lita, Gale and Kendall. However, Justice is not up there.-
The Fox's Wedding
-In that moment, a wild Floette carrying a red flower floats in to greet the guests to the humble establishment called "The Fox's Wedding".-
Pirika: <Welcome to The Fox's Wedding. Would you like something to eat or are you here to dance your cares away?>
-She then notices Kendall, Cesium and Bismuth holding the glitching figure that strongly resembles her contractee and immediately begins to worry.-

"Well, there's no training like battle training," Hoops suggests. "Since you and Xaster are both doing the gym challenge in this region, why don't you have a battle against one another?"

Due to the force of the two moves being used at once, Sal's beam begins to be pushed back. He keeps pushing even as it does so, until there are only a few feet of his flames holding back the attacks.
"Go!" Hoops yells. "You can do it! Sal!"
Sal opens his eyes and pushes harder than he ever has before. The size of his flame doubles, and suddenly is attack is overpowering the others.
<To prove I should be here!> he thinks. <I simply cannot - will not - lose this battle.>
Twinleaf Town Outskirts, present day
Well, here she is, having exhausted all other options. She didn't want to come to the J-Team - perhaps some part of her programming compelled her to think of them as an enemy that shouldn't be approached. But now, there really is no other choice. Perhaps they can help.
Vana walks to the Stormchaser and, after a moment of hesitation, knocks on the door.
