Hoops pulls up their sleeves to reveal deep scar tissue, lumpy and red from the old burns. On the top are scratches, that have caused some recent bleeding and is only just starting to heal.

"So I never forget," they say, matter of factly. "The arms were hit worst. It's fine except for when it itches in my sleep. Or when I lose. Then I start to scratch, and that's when it hurts."

Geddy: (horrified) <Oh my word... oh my word... I am so sorry...>

(He breaks down and starts crying.)

Hoops reaches into their pocket, and pulls out a packet of tissues. They offer one to Geddy.

"Don't worry about it," they say. "I wouldn't say I'm fine, but that all happened in the past. I'm out of all that now. He's dead, and I don't have to be scared of him any more. If I waste time crying about the past, that's time in the present that I'm not using for anything."

Kec pats Geddy on the back. <We appreciate your concern, but we're getting better from all of that. So don't feel you have to cry for our sakes.>

(Geddy takes the tissue and uses it to wipe his tears.)

Geddy: <T-thanks... I just don't like to hear about other Trainers or Pokemon being in danger... or see it...>

They stand up and take a deep breath. "Right then. I think I'm ready to go back in there. You want to come?"

Kec leaps onto Hoops' shoulder and turns to Geddy. <If you want, it's easier than walking. Call it a show of friendship.>

(Geddy nods.)

Geddy: <Of course. I wouldn't want to miss Ian and Evelyn's Gym Battle.>

(And with that said, he exits along with Kec and Hoops.)

(As Kim and Peechee continue eagerly watching the Gym Battle, Geddy and Hoops approach them, the former jumping into his Trainer's arms.)

Geddy: <Hi, Kim!>

Kim: "Ah, Geddy. Delighted to see you again. Where were you? And... where was Hoops, for that matter?"

-Hatty's braids glow with a dark aura of violence, which glows red due to the Galar Particles, magnifying the power so much that one swing from Hatty's braids sends a wave of dark energy in the direction of Kabu's Centiskorch, whereas Piku-chan's giant tail glows a metallic silver color, but becomes so heavy due to the Gigantamax Power that Piku-chan turns around and drops it, causing it to slam into the ground, raising row after row of metallic spikes in the direction of the G-Max Centiskorch. The dark wave of energy traps the G-Max Centiskorch in a cage of shadows...-

-...which then explodes...-

Kabu: SHOW THEM YOUR TRUE FIERY MIGHT, CENTISKORCH!!! USE G-MAX CENTIFERNO!!!

-The heat coils on G-Max Centiskorch's underbelly glow a brilliant gold as it folds its body into a glowing wall, radiating scorching heat as a massive orb of fire gathers in its center. The G-Max Centiskorch lets out a menacing screech at the moment the fireball grows big enough and unleashes the orb of flame at Piku-chan and Hatty!-

Geddy: <Oh good. I got here just in time.>

Kim: "Well. I wonder what's going to happen now."

Peechee: <VRED HIM! OOBIVAT HIM; THAT'D BE EVEN BETTER!>

Hayden or Arthur should hear the tell tale whistle of an arrow being loosed from somewhere on the opposite side of the lake.

"Sorry, Kim. We had to step out for a minute. Geddy was helping me."

Hoops sees what's happening in the battle. "Wow," they say quietly. "These Dynamax battles are actually quite beautiful, aren't they."

Kec looks concernedly at his trainer. <They are.>

Motostoke Stadium

Kim: (smiles) "Is that so? That's very sweet of you, Geddy." (then, to Hoops) "What did he do?"

Motostoke Stadium

"He listened," Hoops says. "It was very helpful. You have a great pokemon there."

Motostoke Stadium

Kim: "...I suppose by that you mean 'he calmed you down from a panic attack.' Regardless, it is commendable. Geddy has always been like that."

(Geddy blushes.)

Circhester, Mach Motors store

The cyborg bug grabbed Upton. The young human-male-shaped glitch attempted struggled in what appears to be a vain attempt to wiggle himself free. Except he wasn't. He manages to reach a ball.

Ba'al: Unhand him, you fiend!

And with that, Ba'al fired what appears to be foul play at the malfunctioning genesect. Phineas meanwhile, fired a barrage of electro balls He didn't need to be prompted to do that.

Astarte: <Oh, bitch, you didn't just...>

Upton: Oh, I'm going to.

He drops a beast ball. Out comes a rather largeish Guzzlord.

Upton: Moloch, Crunch!

Meanwhile, the genesect might find themselves being electrocuted at the point of contact, as though someone was firing a rather powerful discharge at them.

The Angelan Capitol

Governor Sly: Ah, Jackal, way to make an entrance. You know what I'm sayin'. Take a seat. You know who I am. This is my good friend and colleague State Senator Kyle Armitage.

Senator Armitage: A pleasure.

Governor Sly: You already know why you're here.

Senator Armitage: We're shocked and appalled that the tentacles of the former Pokefutures remains well entrenched. It saddens me that a few former allies from the subcommittees I've worked with in the past had been involved. I have taken initiative to relieve them of duty as they face trial.

Governor Sly: Which is why we brought you here. The evidence you left us is enough to send those guys to the slammer with no hope of parole. But with that many tentacles, we're not sure how many more of those guys are involved.

Senator Armitage: I'd have personally preferred to have PEFE launch an investigation.

Governor Sly: Aren't they scientists?

Senator Armitage: They are, though they're surprisingly versed at rooting out terror organizations. They did finally put that blasted criminal Ivo Univyse under arrest. They seem to have the right mix of expertise and accountability to deal with a corruption ring.

Governor Sly: And bring the J-Team here? Kyle, who's side are you on? Besides, you heard what the nice lady at their office said. This sort of issue is just what the Aurabolts are made for.

Senator Armitage: Yes. The PEFE endorsement is the only reason why I'm willing to trust vigilantes to handle investigations on our behalf. We've been left no choice but to do it [The Expendables]-style.

Governor Sly: Hey, don't knock on that trilogy. Cut you a deal, Jackal. We're due for a bit of housecleaning, you know what I'm sayin'. We're givin' you a license to operate. Collect evidence. Do whatever it takes to root out these cretins.

Senator Armitage: But don't engage until the Subcommittee on Corporate Noninterference has issued the warrant.

Governor Sly: Or, y'know, if things become a public threat. Let Jenny know that you need the civilians out of the way. We've seen the declassified junk PEFE collected in Orre.

Senator Armitage: That certainly triggered a lot of bad memories.

The doors burst open, and a familiar tune started to play over the loudspeakers of the Community center.

There was a familiar hissing, as in through the doors marched Darth Vader. Black cape flowing dramatically, striding with intent and purpose into the party. The deep breathing heard, whoever went to the effort of building this costume clearly put a lot of work into it.

One of the Caterers Hypno's rolled their eyes, before telekinetically lifting a large jug of energy drink and tossing it towards the cosplayer, grinning hoping to take the wind out of their sales.

Vader raised his left hand and made a catching motion, and the jug stopped, it floated there, before he clenched his hand into a fist, the jug exploded open. The Hypno stared in shock, as Vader continued to march in, and now over to the Hypno.

"Do not anger me again, the Dark Side is not so forgiving upon second chances." Vader commanded, the Hypno nodding.

Shortly after Vader, came a woman in a black leather biker suit, wearing a yellow cat eared biker helmet, thin black wisps coming from her neck area, "Silas did you really have to do that?" she asked.

"Yes, for if one is to show off, one must. I will not be upstaged by Skye this year," he responded.

Roxy laughed, of course he did, never half assed any of his cosplay projects.

Motostoke Party

Mae and Vincent turned to look at Kim.

"I'm Vincent, she's Mae. We've heard about you."

Meanwhile, upon seeing Silas having made a grand entrance himself, Colton smirked, a clawed hand holding his snarling muzzle, thinking about possibly 1-upping Silas in showmanship.

Julius, Max and Curtis simply elected to walk around as a group and see everyone's costumes.

Motostoke Party

Kim: "Oh, is that so? Delighted to meet you both."

(She suddenly notices Evelyn enter and grins.)

Kim: "Excuse me; I shall ask you for your surnames later."

(She walks up to Evelyn.)

Kim: "Ah. Evelyn. Delighted to see you here. Yes, this is the party— is Ian with you, I wonder?"

(And then she notices Silas.)

Kim: "My apologies; one moment."

(She walks up to Silas.)

Kim: "Ah. Simply exquisite. Greetings; I do not believe we have met before. Kimberly Bond, lingual consultant, at your service; is there by any chance karaoke here?"

-Evelyn notices Kim and waves nervously.-

Evelyn: -nervously- H-Hey, Kim... How-How have you been?

Motostoke Stadium, VS Kabu

-The ball of fire explodes on Piku-chan and Hatty, damaging them and when the smoke fades, Piku-chan and Hatty are wrapped in glowing golden chains that burned at 1000 degrees, struggling to break free!-

Evelyn and I: NO!!

Kabu: See this? This is G-Max Centiferno. Once it hits its target, it will ensnare their target and harm them until they can break free, however long that may take...

Motostoke Stadium

Kim: (grimaces) "Well. That certainly looks painful." (She promptly turns towards Peechee.) "I know who I'll be using in the battle against Centiskorch, then."

Peechee: (raising his claw) <YES—!! Now... DON'T GIVE UP, YOU DVA! OOBIVAT HIM!>

(Kim turns towards Evelyn again, hearing her.)

Kim: "Are you okay? You seem... rather nervous."

Phineas: I've never seen shadow attacks so close before. Fascinating, and quite frightening. I am so glad you're alright. Are you hurt?

Upton: I didn't know you cared.

Phineas: You were my greatest creation and the dearest of companions. I am honor-bound to ensure your safety.

Upton: I love you too, dad.

Phineas floats to Pef and crew.

Phineas: You have my appreciation and thanks for saving my companion.

Silas said nothing to Kim, Roxy quickly stepped in, "Forgive him he's just in character right now. And Vader doesn't say hello," she explained.

"Alice has taught me much about acting, to break character so easily would be troublesome."

Roxy laughed a bit, "Dork."

Silas went back to saying nothing.

"He really did go all out though, the costume has a gadget that lets him imitate force powers."

Meanwhile off in another corner of the party, Arthur and Victor had arrived. Victor was dressed as Lord Vetinari from Discworld, complete with the fascinating eyebrow. Arthur was dressed as a Black Knight, the two were discussing the conventions of fantasy and fiction tropes.

Jackal didn't sit but instead leaned against the wall, "Sanction the aurabolts, that is the plan he asked?"

He gave it some thought, gave them a lot of legal room, "I'll consider it, I need to talk it over with my peers before any of us approve."

~Oh and if we do say yes, we want some form of legal identification so we have instant clearance,~ Hayon added, ~We've seen the stories about how two legally distinct groups don't know what the other is doing and the problems within. Give us a badge or a card or something we can flash to avoid that hassle.~

Jackal nodded, it was far too common an event.

Arthur tucked out of the way and pushed Hayden aside as the arrow landed. The Undying Slayer now scanning the lake for the direction that the arrow came from.
