Eclo Canyon

-Dune lets go of Garuda's wing as they reach the canyon floor.-

Dune: Wow.

Garuda: <I do not believe I need to point out the... markings.>

-The entirety of both canyon walls had been scored and crushed in various places, and the entire canyon floor was littered with debris.-

Dune: You sense anything?

Garuda: <Yes, but->

-A boulder comes flying out from around a corner, rebounds off of the canyon wall with a thunderous crack, and manages to clip Garuda's wing before he could get out of the way.-

Dune: FUCK!

-He recalls Garuda and has Rill out in half a second as a massive, charging, red-eyed Machamp comes charging around the corner, kicking off of the canyon wall with enough force to crack the stone.-

Rill: <CRAP!>

-Rill braces and takes the Machamp's Strength to a readied shoulder.-

Rill: <Dune! Hurry! Strong!>

Dune: Waterfall!

-Rill carries the braced Machamp, now trapped in the Swampert's grip, and slams him into the canyon wall.-

Dune: Hammer Arm him into the rock!

-Without giving the Machamp the benefit of standard battle chivalry, Rill heaves back before planting the flinching figure into the stone, causing a cacophonous snapping of stone.-

-The Machamp responds with a pair of right hooks to the face, sending Rill skidding across the ground until his foot catches a sharp piece of debris, tripping him.-

Dune: Rill!

Rill: <No time!>

-The Machamp kicks off the canyon wall and rushes to Rill, who can't catch his feet under him. The Machamp's attack whiffs as Rill is recalled, and as the hostile wheels in place he spots a pink shine before he's once again taken off his feet.-

Dune: Brave Bird!

-Candace slams into the Machamp with fierce energy, sending the Fighting-Type hurtling towards the exact opposite canyon wall. The impact of the two causes a minor landslide that Dune has to dodge away from.-

Candace: <IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT?!>

-Candace is then grabbed and tossed, the impact against the ground dampened by her stabilizer wings.-

Dune: Toxic!

-The Crobat fires a precise orb of venom toxin straight into the now-charging Machamp's face. This only seems to make him more angry as his eyes glow an even brighter red.-

Dune: Oh shit he's got Guts. Venoshock!

-Candace tries to fly vertically while causing a massive surge of venom in the Machamp's body, but the hostile Pokemon jumps off of the canyon wall, causing both himself to gain massive verticality and once again causing Dune to dodge out of the way of falling debris.-

Candace: <Huh, clever...>

-Candace is grabbed mid-air and pile drived into the ground. Dune pulls her back as he quickly makes some quick guesstimates in his head. He takes Ajax and releases him from his Ultra Ball.-

Dune: HYPER BEAM!

-The Tyranitar tilts his head back and, as the Machamp charges for what would be a very quick close-quarters fight, Ajax fires.-

*FSHVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

-The canyon falls into silence.-

-Chips of melted stone fall to the ground from the walls, though most of the previously loosened debris has fused to the wall.-

-The Machamp, in a smoking pile, rests at the corner he began his ambush from.-

-Ajax lets out a sigh of relief.-

-Then the sound of jostling stone can be heard over the silence, as the Machamp gets up again.-

Dune: No fucking way...

-The Machamp turns towards Dune and Ajax, his muscles tightening.-

Machamp: ▂▂▃▃▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▃▃▃▃▅▅▅▅!

Ajax: <Run.>

Dune: No.

Ajax: <RUN!>

-Ajax is speared by the charging Machamp, his monolithic stature being hauled high into the air before being brought back down against the canyon floor. Dune is thrown away by Ajax's swinging tail just before the impact throws scalpel-sharp stone shards into the air.-

-Ajax attempts to knock his assailant away with a Dragon Tail, but the enraged Fighting-Type holds his ground against all odds and slugs Ajax in the belly plates.-

-Dune scrambles to his feet as the Machamp grabs Ajax by the neck with his left hands and winds up with his right pair.-

Dune: AJAX!

-...-

-...-

-...-

-Ajax opens his eyes, having expected to be knocked unconscious by this point.-

-The Machamp, frozen in position with Ajax aloft, stares at him. His red, piercing eyes no longer fully set, they give the slightest twitch and dart, as if in sudden recognition.-

-Dune and Ajax both don't dare to make a sound.-

Machamp: ... ▂▂▂▂...

-The Machamp's grip slowly releases, and Ajax is dropped to the ground.-

-He looks towards Dune, who looks back with an assertive steadiness belying a confrontation with the gods themselves.-

Machamp: ...

-He stands still now, shoulders no longer set forward in hostility.-

Dune: Ajax, I don't think he's a Shadow...

Ajax: <No, but... damn, can he throw a punch like one.>

-The setting sun is the only thing that hide's the Machamp's cocky grin at those words.-

Just outside Accumula town

Cortez tripped over the Litten, and hit the ground with a crash.

Cortez: <Ow! Stop!>

This gave Silversmith time to catch up.

Silversmith: "Where are you going?"

Cortez: <Away! You're going to release me anyways!>

Silversmith: "What? What are you—"

Silversmith recalled what he had said not ten minutes prior.

Silversmith: "I only said I have half a mind!"

Cortez: <But you'll do it anyways! I know it! Ever since Mischief got that pokescarf on you for the first time, you've been nothing but angry, and scared, and in pain, and it's my fault!>

Silversmith: "..."

Cortez: <You don't... you don't even want me!>

Cortez tried to sound assertive, but his emotions got the better of him, and he cried softly. He turned his back to Silversmith.

Silversmith: "...$300 stings. Scaring the crap out of me stings. Stun spore stings, literally. But none of those things would be as bad as losing you. I didn't know this before Mischief, you know... but you're a nice guy. A bit of a ditz, but nice. You are, truly, the greatest fighter on my team. I would pay 3 times $300, nay, I would take a bite from a were-mon to keep you with me. Would you come back?"

Silversmith realized he was tempting fate, and looked left and right.

Silversmith: Arceus, if you actually sent a—

Cortez: <Really?>

Silversmith: ...I can't really take it back now. *internal sigh* I need to stop making these stupid promises. "Yes."

Cortez turned around, and his face brightened up. He was at a loss for words, and so decided to express his emotions with a hug tackle, knocking Silversmith down. Effect spore kicked in and he was poisoned. His stomach churned, but he did nothing about it.

Silversmith: At this rate, I'm gonna build up an immunity to poison.

Cortez let Silversmith go and got up, looking happy as ever. Silversmith gasped for non spore filled air and consumed a pecha berry as fast as he could.

Cortez: <Oh! I'm sorry... and I'm sorry about the air conditioner too...>

Silversmith sighed, and pat Cortez on the head.

Silversmith: "It's fine. I'm just gonna be broke for a few months, that's all. Shadow, thanks for your help. How's Mischief?"

Outside Silversmith's House

Mischief shivered in Shadow's arms, her big blue eyes watering pathetically. Shadow looks down at her.

Shadow: She's still shaking like crazy. I'm certain she's having a panic attack... Again... The only reason I still have her is because I refuse to give up on her. Kinda like you with Cortez. You get mad, and with good reason, but you'd never abandon him. But I have to find a way to help Mischief deal with her fear...

Scorch: <Or nyot. I have to deal with doggone aquaphobia.>

Shadow: Thanks for the input. But this is something she can't just avoid. I don't have to constantly be around people, but I'm not just becoming a hermit!

Silversmith: "Hmm... perhaps we could be hermits together?"

Cortez: <No! The rest of the world is to fun and cool!>

Silversmith: "*sigh* Dad's gonna be wondering where we're at. Let's go back."

Silversmith Sr.: "What happened?"

Silversmith explained.

Silversmith Sr.: "I told you, it wasn't Cortez's fault! You're the one that left him unattended!"

Silversmith had nearly forgotten about the air conditioner after his chase. He was in a sour mood, but he tried to be nice for Cortez's sake.

Silversmith: "Well, the day is young. Shadow, are you a fan of libraries? They know me well there, I bet I could get a job pretty quick. After a snack."

Silversmith stared for a few seconds at the raided fridge, shrugged, and ate a sandwich.

Silversmith: "I'm going to leave everybody but Cortez behind. They've been cooped up in their pokeballs all day."

Silversmith deployed Aqua, Armando, and Silver Bullet (outside).

Silversmith: "Alright guys, you can do whatever. I'm going to the library with Shadow, if he wants to come."

Cortez noticed Aqua eyeing his tail fruit.

Cortez: <Let's get going!>

Silversmith: "Ok."

Silversmith set his Ultra Ball on the mantel, beneath the silver sword, and began on his way.

Silversmith Sr.: "Who's in there?"

Silversmith: "Shield!"

Silversmith was about to explain further, but was dragged out the door by Cortez, who had barely avoided another aerial assault from Aqua.

Silversmith's House

Shadow unleashed his entire group as well, a veritable menagerie. Ophidia, as could be expected, went straight to Armando.

Shadow: I'm with Silversmith. You guys can hang out here. Mischief needs some pleasant interactions with humans. Oh, Mr Silversmith Sr, for Arceus' sake... Leave Shield in the Pokeball.

Shadow follows Silversmith.

Silversmith Sr.: "*sigh* Well, I may as well clean up around here. Can't have a guest returning to a dirty home. Hey, uhhh, everyone! Don't make any messes please!"

Armando intentionally dripped some wax on the floor.

Armando: <Oops.>

Unova Route 2

Cortez knocked out some passing wild pokemon as Silversmith and Shadow went on their way.

Silversmith: "I've hiked this route almost daily for... as long as I can remember. Before..."

He trailed off.

Silversmith residence

Silversmith Senior was dusting. Ashes loved to burrow themselves deep around the mantle, seeing as there was a fireplace directly below it.

Armando: <Ophidia! I know the way to the library well. I suspect it would interest you. Would you like to take a walk with me?>

Aqua: <Can you teach me to read?>

Armando: <I'd really rather not... not now at least.>

He gazed into Ophidia's eyes. Meanwhile, Silversmith Senior had accidentally dusted off the Ultra Ball, and it fell to the ground. Shield was deployed.

Shield Sheafson: <What? Back inside already? Did I miss seeing the kid put the scarf on? Blast!>

Silversmith Sr.: "Hmmm. Fine craftsmanship, this honedge. I'd like to know more about where it came from."

Shield Sheafson: <Hmmm. Fine specimen of humanity, this human. Alas, to old for my refined tastes. I'm getting awfully low on energy though...>

Armando was reminded of his own ghost type nature, and adopted a more sullen attitude.

Armando: <Alright, if you get back in your pokeball within two seconds, I won't Ember you.>

Shield Sheafson: <Where is the kid?>

Armando: <One...>

Shield Sheafson: <He's not here! If he was, he would have foolishly withdrawn me at this point!>

Shield Sheafson used Shadow Sneak! It escaped through the wall.

Armando: <Well, it's gone now. *sigh* Why, Arceus! Why have you cursed me to feed on others? You could have made me literally any other type! I could have enjoyed food! Hell, I could have been with Ophidia! But no, for every ounce of hunger pain I don't have, somebody else suffers!>

Unova Route 3

Shield Sheafson tracked Silversmith and Shadow down.

Silversmith: "I considered dropping my pokemon off at the daycare, but I feel like they wouldn't get along with the other pokemon. Then again, Aqua's pretty nice."

Shield Sheafson: Ah ha! The one I seek! Where is his scarf, I wonder? ...No, his friend would stop me, even if I did put it on. ...His FRIEND.

Shield smiled evilly and twirled his tassel like a mustache.

Shield Sheafson: I'm quite hungry... yeeess, I'll incapacitate him, feast on his friends life force, find the scarf, and then the world will be as it should be!

Shield conked Silversmith with the hilt of his blade. Silversmith was dazed, and fell to the ground.

Cortez: <You monster! What are you doing?! SHORYUKEN!>

Cortez used Sky Uppercut! It had no effect. Shield rushed at Shadow, his intent obvious.

Ophidia was about to respond when Shield burst free.

Ophidia: <Oh... No...>

Route 3

Shadow put Mischief on the ground.

Shadow: Go on, save yourself! It's me he's after!

Mischief: <...>

Shadow: Run!

Mischief: <... No. Not this time.>

She gets between Shadow and Shield, shaking visibly.

Mischief: <You saved me. I owe you everything. I'm not going to stand by while some bastard sword tries to murder you! I'll stop him! There will be... No... Mercy!> -fires a Dark Pulse-

Armando: <What's wrong? He's got Silver—*looks outside* He's got—*sees Aqua on floor*...SHIT!>

Unova Route 3

The Dark Pulse hit its mark, but it didn't have the psychological impact a fire attack would.

Shield Sheafson: <Agh! What was—Oh? A tiny little Zorua wants to play? Pffffft!>

Cortez: <Hold it right there!>

Cortez used Mach Punch! He flew right through the honedge and landed flat on his face a distance away.

Shield Sheafson: <What an idiot... You're nothing, tiny pup! Prepare to suffer beneath my steel!>

With a loud sound, Shield unsheathed and used Swords dance. Not to improve his attacking prowess, though it did do that, but to intimidate the poor Zorua.

Silversmith's House

Ophidia: <W-we g-gotta go sssave them!>

Route 3

For once, Mischief didn't flinch. She wiped her watery eyes and stood a little taller. Not that it affected anything.

Mischief: <I refuse to let you hurt him...> -starts glowing- <I won't run away anymore! If I run now... It will cost me everything!>

Shadow covers his eyes at the bright light. Mischief starts to grow, her tail vanishing while the furry tuft on her head rapidly lengthens. Her claws unsheath and lengthen, flexing slightly, while her muzzle lengthens. The glow fades, revealing a Zoroark where a Zorua once stood. Mischief roared, one last warning before she went ballistic.

Shadow: What the...

Mischief: <Stand down or I'll be the one slaying YOU!>

Armando: <Let's go!>

Armando floated through the wall, then sheepishly returned and waited for Ophidia to come out the door the way mortals do.

Route 3

Shield Sheafson hadn't expected an evolution.

Shield Sheafson: <Impressive! Seems you're no longer a small pup! No matter: I too am capable of such a move!>

Shield seemed to be putting in effort into... something. Nothing happened. Silversmith sat up, and saw Mischief.

Silversmith: "...How long was I out?"

Shield Sheafson: <Bye!>

Shield began to float away at maximum velocity.

Cortez: <Get back here you—Who's this?! *inhales* DID YOU EAT MISCHIEF?>

Silversmith: "Uhhh, Shield's getting away."

Saber just... stares daggers at him from behind her mask.

She doesn't summon her persona yet, though.

Ophidia walked through the door, completely stifling a giggle at Armando's error.

Mischief: -snarl- <Why you... If you start a fight, you oughta finish it! And you're not escaping me anyway!>

Mischief rushes him, and despite being slightly unsteady managed to use Pursuit without too much trouble.

Shield regretted its lack of evolution, as its namesake would have came in handy right about then. For its cowardice, Shield was punished with a particularly effective Pursuit, and was easily incapacitated.

Cortez: <That was cool! You need to show me how to do that!>

Silversmith: "One of these days I'm gonna sit down and teach you what moves pokemon can learn. My head hurts... Shadow, what happened? *sees Mischief* Is this Mischief? How long was I out?"

Ophidia lets Armando lead.

Route 3

Shadow was still in shock. Mischief turned to him, crooned, and nuzzled him. Shadow suddenly remembered something and reached into his bag, pulling out his new transformation scarf. Everything seemed to stop for a moment.

Shadow: I just remembered I have this.

Mischief: -facepaw- <Oof...>

Shadow starts scratching her behind the ear, and she leans into it hard enough she knocks them both over. She looks worried, but Shadow just laughs it off.

Shadow: Still getting used to your size and weight, huh? Not surprising, especially since you're bipedal now.

Milagros: I think this is it.

As soon as Skadi crossed the line past the skeleton in the robes, the room became illuminated with a sickly green colour.

The Pen seemed sick, thankfully not passing that to Nightingale, -Okay yep! This is Jester gunk, this room is very much filled with it!-

It's avatar vanished from view, and Nightingale would find herself without the familiar powers of the Pen, only her blade and team by her side now.

The sarcophagus rumbled it burst open, the top part going flying several feet away, out stretched a arm and forward stepped a greasy head of hair, pale green skin adhering to withered face, glowing yellow eyes behind it.

   "Wer hat mich aus meinem Schlummer geweckt?"   

Those familiar with history books, and those who did their recent research, would recognize this as Helmuth the 1st. He stretched and cracked, his body adorned in faded but regal armor seemingly made with plate and dragon scales, he stepped forward, overlooking the room.

   "Eindringlinge? Du bist nicht meine Linie oder meine Alchemisten."   

The sound of bones popping into place was heard as Helmuth felt his jaw, and he spoke again,    "No matter. You will explain to me what is happening, where is my kingdom, and    how you will help me retake it."

There was a roar and out from a tomb section of the room stepped a Salamance, it looked perfectly healthy save for the odd colouring and glowing eyes marking it as undead.

"I'm certain you know that your rightful place is kneeling before your king."

Jackal sighed, "Regardless. Let's get moving," he said as he lead the party down the tunnels. They were surprisingly empty all things considered.

~I got the Lucarionite, you got the key stone?~ Hayon asked.

Jackal held up his right hand, "Bracer was embedded in the forearm, we're good to go."

~Excellent, think we may need it.~

"We got a good team set up."

The team kept forward, finding fleeing Pokefutures grunts, and even a few of the other scientists were running. Jackal nor his team said anything as they entered into a large cavern, awaiting them there, was Tonio.

"Oh hello! Superheroes huh, oh and you must be the mysterious Jackal!"

"Correct, we-"

"Oh my Marigold is that you? Great outfit, I have to say I'm impressed, didn't know I warranted the attention of superheroes!"

Jackal blinked, the "pupils" in the eye sockets of his mask repeating the gesture, "D-did I just get ignored?"

Tonio grinned, "Oh we have so much to do here! Such as meeting my new friend. Shame really, secret of immortality isn't down here... what is however..."

There was a unearthly roar as up rose a beast made of twisted green slick flesh, black ooze coming from it, bits of alakagross and hyul metal strapped to its body, it roared.

"Oh there there... seems Helmuth hid one of his great war beasts beneath the castle, however I'm here to handle it... Any questions?" Tonio smiled a big toothy smile.

In a instant, the undead froze, Fox blinked, preferring to ignore the comments about confusing O'Sullivan and just stared at the undead army before them.

"Uh... what's happening?"

Rage and Love’s persona is pulled away, both their attentions being drawn. Afterwards, Rage and Love retied his blindfold and sighed as Mercury vanished again, neither of them visibly caring that much about being called weak.

“Yep,” he said simply before he summoned Camazotz to fire an Air Slash at a random Shadow.

Lycanrow Temple

Lamb simply shook her head. “The day I kneel is the day you bust my knee,” she said, snapping her fingers to summon some flares around her palm.
